^4 (A)And this ^[a]took place in order that what was spoken through the prophet would be fulfilled, saying,

⁶ And the disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them, ⁷ and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their garments on them; and He sat on ^[b]the garments. ⁸ And most of the crowd ^(C)spread their garments in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them in the road. ⁹ And the crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were crying out, saying,

^7 (A)And they *brought the colt to Jesus and put their garments on it; and He sat on it. ⁸ And many spread their garments in the road, and others spread leafy branches, having cut them from the fields. ⁹ And those who went in front and those who followed were shouting:

³⁵ And they brought it to Jesus, ^(A)and after they threw their garments on the colt, they put Jesus on it. ³⁶ And as He was going, they were spreading their garments on the road. ³⁷ Now as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of ^(B)the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to ^(C)praise God, rejoicing with a loud voice for all the ^[a]miracles which they had seen, ³⁸ saying,

The Triumphal Entry

¹² On the next day ^(A)the large crowd who had come to ^(B)the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, ¹³ took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, “^(C)Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the ^[a]Lord, even the ^(D)King of Israel.” ¹⁴ And Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, ¹⁵ “^(E)Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”
