²² And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, ^(A)Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

Two Blind Men Healed

²⁷ When Jesus departed from there, ^(A)two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, ^(B)“Son of David, have mercy on us!”

¹⁵ “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is ^[a]an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.

²⁵ For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and ^(A)fell at His feet. ²⁶ The woman was a ^[a]Greek, a ^[b]Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept ^[c]asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

The Safety of the Faithful

³⁸ And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, ^(A)Son of David, have mercy on me!”

³⁹ Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

¹³ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’

¹³ And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

¹⁷ Then ^(A)one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. ¹⁸ And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.”

¹⁹ He answered him and said, “O ^(B)faithless^[a] generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I ^[b]bear with you? Bring him to Me.” ²⁰ Then they brought him to Him. And ^(C)when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.

²¹ So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?”

And he said, “From childhood. ²² And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

⁴² saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?”

They said to Him, “The ^(A)Son of David.”
