    the roaring of their waves,

^22 (A)Do you not fear me? declares the Lord.
    Do you not tremble before me?
I placed the sand ^(B)as the boundary for the sea,
    a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass;
though the waves toss, they cannot prevail;
    though ^(C)they roar, they cannot pass over it.

²⁹ when he ^(A)assigned to the sea its ^(B)limit,
    so that the waters might not transgress his command,
when he marked out ^(C)the foundations of the earth,

^8 (A)fire and hail, ^(B)snow and mist,
    ^(C)stormy wind ^(D)fulfilling his word!

⁷ At ^(A)your rebuke they fled;
    at ^(B)the sound of your thunder they ^(C)took to flight.
⁸ The mountains rose, the valleys sank down
    to the place that you ^(D)appointed for them.
⁹ You set ^(E)a boundary that they may not pass,
    so that they ^(F)might not again cover the earth.
