The Triumphal Entry
11 (A)Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to (B)Bethphage and Bethany, at (C)the Mount of Olives, Jesus[a] sent (D)two of his disciples 2 and said to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, (E)on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. 3 If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.’” 4 And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. 5 And some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” 6 And they told them what Jesus had said, and they let them go. 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. 8 And many (F)spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. 9 And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, (G)“Hosanna! (H)Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! 10 Blessed is (I)the coming (J)kingdom of (K)our father (L)David! (M)Hosanna (N)in the highest!”
11 (O)And he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple. And when he had looked around at everything, as it was already late, (P)he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
Jesus Curses the Fig Tree
12 (Q)On the following day, when they came from Bethany, (R)he was hungry. 13 (S)And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for (T)it was not the season for figs. 14 And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.
Jesus Cleanses the Temple
15 (U)And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of (V)the money-changers and the seats of those who sold (W)pigeons. 16 And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. 17 And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, (X)‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But (Y)you have made it a den of robbers.” 18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and (Z)were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because (AA)all the crowd was astonished at his teaching. 19 (AB)And when evening came they[b] went out of the city.
The Lesson from the Withered Fig Tree
20 (AC)As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots. 21 And Peter remembered and said to him, (AD)“Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” 22 And Jesus answered them, “Have (AE)faith in God. 23 (AF)Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, (AG)‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not (AH)doubt in his heart, but (AI)believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, (AJ)whatever you ask in prayer, (AK)believe that you (AL)have received[c] it, and it will be yours. 25 And whenever (AM)you stand praying, (AN)forgive, (AO)if you have anything against anyone, so that (AP)your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”[d]
The Authority of Jesus Challenged
27 (AQ)And they came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to him, 28 and they said to him, (AR)“By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority to do them?” 29 Jesus said to them, “I will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. 30 Was the baptism of John (AS)from heaven or from man? Answer me.” 31 And they discussed it with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, (AT)‘Why then did you not believe him?’ 32 But shall we say, ‘From man’?”—(AU)they were afraid of the people, for they all held that John really was (AV)a prophet. 33 So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.” And Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
The Parable of the Tenants
12 (AW)And he began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted (AX)a vineyard (AY)and put a fence around it and dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower, and (AZ)leased it to tenants and (BA)went into another country. 2 When the season came, he sent a servant[e] to the tenants to get from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. 3 (BB)And they took him and beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 4 (BC)Again (BD)he sent to them another servant, and (BE)they struck him on the head and (BF)treated him shamefully. 5 (BG)And he sent another, and him they killed. And so with many others: some they beat, and some they killed. 6 He had still one other, (BH)a beloved son. (BI)Finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 7 But those tenants said to one another, (BJ)‘This is the heir. Come, (BK)let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 8 And they took him and killed him and (BL)threw him out of the vineyard. 9 What will the owner of the vineyard do? (BM)He will (BN)come and destroy the tenants and (BO)give the vineyard to others. 10 (BP)Have you not read (BQ)this Scripture:
(BR)“‘The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;[f]
11 this was the Lord's doing,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”
12 And (BS)they were seeking to arrest him (BT)but feared the people, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them. So they (BU)left him and went away.
Paying Taxes to Caesar
13 (BV)And they sent to him some of (BW)the Pharisees and some of (BX)the Herodians, to (BY)trap him in his talk. 14 And they came and said to him, “Teacher, (BZ)we know that you are true and do not care about anyone's opinion. For (CA)you are not swayed by appearances,[g] but truly teach (CB)the way of God. Is it lawful to pay (CC)taxes to (CD)Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?” 15 But, knowing (CE)their hypocrisy, he said to them, “Why (CF)put me to the test? Bring me (CG)a denarius[h] and let me look at it.” 16 And they brought one. And he said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said to him, “Caesar's.” 17 Jesus said to them, (CH)“Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” And they marveled at him.
The Sadducees Ask About the Resurrection
18 And (CI)Sadducees came to him, (CJ)who say that there is no resurrection. And they asked him a question, saying, 19 “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that (CK)if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife, but leaves no child, the man[i] must take the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. 20 There were seven brothers; the first took a wife, and when he died left no offspring. 21 And the second took her, and died, leaving no offspring. And the third likewise. 22 And the seven left no offspring. Last of all the woman also died. 23 In the resurrection, when they rise again, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife.”
24 Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are wrong, because (CL)you know neither the Scriptures nor (CM)the power of God? 25 For when they rise from the dead, they neither (CN)marry nor (CO)are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. 26 And as for the dead being raised, (CP)have you not read in (CQ)the book of Moses, in (CR)the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, (CS)‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? 27 He is not God of the dead, but of the living. You are quite wrong.”
The Great Commandment
28 (CT)And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, (CU)‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, (CV)the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 (CW)The second is this: (CX)‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment (CY)greater than these.” 32 And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that (CZ)he is one, and (DA)there is no other besides him. 33 And to love him with all the heart and with all (DB)the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, (DC)is much more than all (DD)whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” (DE)And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.
Whose Son Is the Christ?
35 (DF)And as (DG)Jesus taught in the temple, he said, “How can the scribes say that (DH)the Christ is the son of David? 36 David himself, (DI)in the Holy Spirit, declared,
(DJ)“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I put your enemies (DK)under your feet.”’
37 David himself calls him Lord. So (DL)how is he his son?” And the great throng (DM)heard him gladly.
Beware of the Scribes
38 (DN)And in his teaching he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the marketplaces 39 and have the best seats in the synagogues and (DO)the places of honor at feasts, 40 (DP)who devour widows' houses and (DQ)for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
The Widow's Offering
41 (DR)And he sat down opposite (DS)the treasury and watched the people (DT)putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. 42 And a poor widow came and put in two (DU)small copper coins, which make a penny.[j] 43 And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, (DV)this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. 44 For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her (DW)poverty has put in everything she had, all (DX)she had to live on.”
Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple
13 (DY)And as he came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!” 2 And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? (DZ)There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
Signs of the End of the Age
3 And as he sat on (EA)the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, (EB)Peter and James and John and (EC)Andrew asked him (ED)privately, 4 “Tell us, (EE)when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?” 5 And Jesus began to say to them, (EF)“See that no one leads you astray. 6 (EG)Many will come in my name, saying, (EH)‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray. 7 And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, (EI)do not be alarmed. This (EJ)must take place, but the end is not yet. 8 For (EK)nation will rise against nation, and (EL)kingdom against kingdom. There will be (EM)earthquakes in various places; there will be (EN)famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.
9 (EO)“But (EP)be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten (EQ)in synagogues, and you will stand before (ER)governors and (ES)kings for my sake, (ET)to bear witness before them. 10 And the gospel must first be proclaimed (EU)to all nations. 11 And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, (EV)do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say (EW)whatever is given you in that hour, (EX)for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 (EY)And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. 13 (EZ)And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. (FA)But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
The Abomination of Desolation
14 “But when you see (FB)the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be ((FC)let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 (FD)Let the one who is on (FE)the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out, 16 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 17 And (FF)alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 18 Pray that it may not happen in winter. 19 For in those days there will be (FG)such (FH)tribulation as has not been (FI)from the beginning of the creation that (FJ)God created until now, and never will be. 20 And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for (FK)the sake of the elect, whom (FL)he chose, he shortened the days. 21 And (FM)then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. 22 (FN)For false christs and false prophets will arise and (FO)perform signs and wonders, (FP)to lead astray, if possible, (FQ)the elect. 23 But (FR)be on guard; (FS)I have told you all things beforehand.
The Coming of the Son of Man
24 “But in those days, after (FT)that tribulation, (FU)the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and (FV)the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 And then they will see (FW)the Son of Man coming in clouds (FX)with great power and glory. 27 And then (FY)he will send out the angels and (FZ)gather (GA)his elect from (GB)the four winds, from (GC)the ends of the earth (GD)to the ends of heaven.
The Lesson of the Fig Tree
28 “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, (GE)at the very gates. 30 (GF)Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 31 (GG)Heaven and earth will pass away, but (GH)my words will not pass away.
No One Knows That Day or Hour
32 “But concerning that day or that hour, (GI)no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, (GJ)nor the Son, (GK)but only the Father. 33 (GL)Be on guard, (GM)keep awake.[k] For you do not know when the time will come. 34 (GN)It is like a man (GO)going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants[l] in charge, (GP)each with his work, and commands (GQ)the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 (GR)Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, (GS)in the evening, or (GT)at midnight, or (GU)when the rooster crows,[m] or (GV)in the morning— 36 lest (GW)he come suddenly and (GX)find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: (GY)Stay awake.”

Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King(A)(B)
11 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany(C) at the Mount of Olives,(D) Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden.(E) Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”
4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway.(F) As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,
“Hosanna![a]”
10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!”
“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”(H)

He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’[c]?(N) But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’[d]”(O)
18 The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him,(P) because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.(Q)
19 When evening came, Jesus and his disciples[e] went out of the city.(R)
20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi,(S) look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”
22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[f] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.(T) 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.(U) 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”(V) [26] [g]
The Authority of Jesus Questioned(W)
27 They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him. 28 “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you authority to do this?”
29 Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. 30 John’s baptism—was it from heaven, or of human origin? Tell me!”
31 They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ 32 But if we say, ‘Of human origin’ …” (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.)(X)
33 So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed.
6 “He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all,(AA) saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
7 “But the tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 8 So they took him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.
9 “What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others. 10 Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture:
“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;(AB)
11 the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’[h]?”(AC)
12 Then the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd;(AD) so they left him and went away.(AE)
Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar(AF)
13 Later they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians(AG) to Jesus to catch him(AH) in his words. 14 They came to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are a man of integrity. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay the imperial tax[i] to Caesar or not? 15 Should we pay or shouldn’t we?”
But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. “Why are you trying to trap me?” he asked. “Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.” 16 They brought the coin, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”(AI)
And they were amazed at him.
Marriage at the Resurrection(AJ)
18 Then the Sadducees,(AK) who say there is no resurrection,(AL) came to him with a question. 19 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.(AM) 20 Now there were seven brothers. The first one married and died without leaving any children. 21 The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. It was the same with the third. 22 In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died too. 23 At the resurrection[j] whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”
24 Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures(AN) or the power of God? 25 When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.(AO) 26 Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[k]?(AP) 27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!”
The Greatest Commandment(AQ)
28 One of the teachers of the law(AR) came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[l] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[m](AS) 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[n](AT) There is no commandment greater than these.”
32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.(AU) 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”(AV)
34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”(AW) And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.(AX)
Whose Son Is the Messiah?(AY)(AZ)
35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts,(BA) he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?(BB) 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit,(BC) declared:
37 David himself calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
The large crowd(BE) listened to him with delight.
Warning Against the Teachers of the Law
38 As he taught, Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, 39 and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.(BF) 40 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”
The Widow’s Offering(BG)
41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put(BH) and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”(BI)
The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times(BJ)
13 As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!”
2 “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”(BK)
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives(BL) opposite the temple, Peter, James, John(BM) and Andrew asked him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?”
5 Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you.(BN) 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues.(BO) On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.(BP)
12 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.(BQ) 13 Everyone will hate you because of me,(BR) but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(BS)
14 “When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’[p](BT) standing where it[q] does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out. 16 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 17 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!(BU) 18 Pray that this will not take place in winter, 19 because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world,(BV) until now—and never to be equaled again.(BW)
20 “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them. 21 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.(BX) 22 For false messiahs and false prophets(BY) will appear and perform signs and wonders(BZ) to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 So be on your guard;(CA) I have told you everything ahead of time.
24 “But in those days, following that distress,
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
25 the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[r](CB)
26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds(CC) with great power and glory. 27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.(CD)
28 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it[s] is near, right at the door. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation(CE) will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.(CF) 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.(CG)

32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.(CH) 33 Be on guard! Be alert[t]!(CI) You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants(CJ) in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”(CK)

11 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
12 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.
2 And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.
5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:
11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.
21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.
22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.
23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
13 And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!
2 And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,
4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?
5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:
6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.
10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
