^15 (A)Did he not make them one, with a portion of the Spirit in their union?^[a] And what was the one God^[b] seeking?^{[c] (B)}Godly offspring. So guard yourselves^[d] in your spirit, and let none of you be ^(C)faithless to the wife of your youth.

⁴ He answered, ^(A)“Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, ⁵ and said, ^(B)‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and ^(C)the two shall become one flesh’? ⁶ So they are no longer two but one flesh. ^(D)What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

^14 (A)But you say, “Why does he not?” Because the Lord ^(B)was witness between you and the wife of your youth, ^(C)to whom ^(D)you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.

^11 (A)Their wives likewise^[a] must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, ^(B)faithful in all things. ¹² Let deacons each be ^(C)the husband of one wife, ^(D)managing their children and their own households well.

¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. ^(A)Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

⁶ But ^(A)from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them ^(B)male and female.’ ^7 (C)‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife,^{[a] 8} and ^(D)the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.

^6 (A)if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife,^[a] and his children are believers^[b] and not open to the charge of ^(B)debauchery or insubordination.

⁴ He must manage his own household well, with all dignity ^(A)keeping his children submissive, ⁵ for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for ^(B)God's church?
