Ngắt Bông Lúa Vào Ngày Sa-bát(A)
12 Lúc ấy Đức Giê-su đi ngang qua một đồng lúa, vào ngày Sa-bát,[a] các môn đệ Ngài đói, nên ngắt bông lúa ăn. 2 Những người Pha-ri-si thấy vậy, nói với Ngài: “Coi kìa! Môn đệ của Thầy làm điều trái luật trong ngày Sa-bát.”
3 Nhưng Ngài đáp: “Các ông chưa đọc về việc làm của Đa-vít và những người theo ông khi họ bị đói sao? 4 Thế nào Đa-vít đã vào nhà thờ Đức Chúa Trời và ăn bánh trưng bày trên bàn thờ,[b] mặc dầu ông và những người theo ông không được phép ăn, mà chỉ có các thầy tế lễ mới được phép ăn? 5 Hay là các ông chưa đọc trong Kinh Luật rằng vào ngày Sa-bát, các thầy tế lễ vi phạm luật ngày Sa-bát[c] trong đền thờ nhưng vẫn vô tội sao? 6 Ta cho các ông biết: Đấng cao trọng hơn cả đền thờ đang ở đây. 7 Nếu các ông hiểu ý nghĩa của lời dạy: ‘Ta chuộng lòng thương xót hơn vật tế lễ!’[d] thì các ông đã không lên án người vô tội. 8 Vì Con Người là Chúa của ngày Sa-bát.”
Người Bị Liệt Tay(B)
9 Từ đó Ngài đi vào một hội đường của người Do Thái. 10 Ở đó có một người bị liệt bàn tay. Một số người hỏi Đức Giê-su để tìm dịp tố cáo Ngài: “Người ta được phép chữa bệnh trong ngày Sa-bát không?”
11 Ngài đáp: “Ai trong vòng các ông có một con chiên bị rơi xuống hố trong ngày Sa-bát mà không kéo nó lên sao? 12 Người còn quý hơn chiên biết bao! Thế thì người ta có quyền làm điều lành trong ngày Sa-bát.”
13 Rồi Ngài phán cùng người ấy: “Hãy đưa tay ra!” Người ấy đưa tay ra, thì tay liệt được lành lặn như tay kia. 14 Tuy nhiên, những người Pha-ri-si đi ra bàn mưu giết Ngài.
15 Đức Giê-su biết thế, nên lánh khỏi chỗ đó. Có nhiều người theo Ngài và Ngài chữa lành tất cả những người bệnh. 16 Nhưng Ngài dặn họ không nên nói cho ai biết về Ngài. 17 Như thế để ứng nghiệm lời tiên tri I-sa đã chép:
18 “Đây là tôi tớ Ta đã chọn,
Người mà Ta yêu dấu, đẹp lòng Ta mọi đàng;
Ta sẽ ban Thần Linh Ta trên Người
Và Người sẽ công bố công lý cho các dân ngoại quốc.
19 Người sẽ không cãi cọ hay la lối,
Cũng không ai nghe tiếng Người ngoài phố chợ.
20 Người sẽ không bẻ cây sậy sắp gãy,
Cũng không dập tắt ngọn đèn gần tàn,
Cho đến khi công lý được toàn thắng,
21 Và các dân ngoại quốc sẽ đặt hy vọng nơi Người.”[e]
Đức Giê-su Và Quỷ Bê-ên-xê-bun(C)
22 Thế rồi, người ta đem đến cho Đức Giê-su một người bị quỷ ám, mù và câm. Ngài chữa cho người ấy thấy và nói được. 23 Cả đám đông kinh ngạc nói rằng: “Đây có phải là con vua Đa-vít không?”
24 Nhưng các người Pha-ri-si nghe thế lại nói: “Người này không thể nào đuổi quỷ nếu không nhờ Bê-ên-xê-bun, thủ lãnh loài quỷ.”
25 Ngài biết ý tưởng họ, nên phán: “Nước nào tự chia rẽ sẽ bị hủy diệt. Thành nào hay nhà nào chia rẽ cũng không thể đứng vững. 26 Nếu Sa-tan trừ Sa-tan, chúng nó chia rẽ lẫn nhau, làm thế nào nước nó đứng vững được? 27 Nếu Ta nhờ Bê-ên-xê-bun đuổi quỷ, thì con cái các ông nhờ ai để đuổi quỷ? Vì thế, chúng sẽ là người đoán xét các ông. 28 Nếu Ta nhờ Thánh Linh của Đức Chúa Trời đuổi quỷ, thì Nước Đức Chúa Trời đã đến cùng các ông.
29 Hoặc là làm sao vào nhà một người mạnh để cướp của, mà trước hết lại không trói người mạnh ấy rồi mới cướp?
30 Ai không thuận với Ta là nghịch với Ta, ai không hiệp với Ta sẽ bị tan rã. 31 Vì thế Ta bảo các ông: Mọi tội lỗi và lời phạm thượng đều được tha cho loài người, nhưng tội phạm thượng Đức Thánh Linh sẽ không được tha thứ. 32 Nếu ai nói phạm Con Người, người ấy sẽ được tha; nhưng nếu ai nói phạm Đức Thánh Linh sẽ không được tha, cả đời này lẫn đời sau.”
Kết Quả(D)
33 “Trồng cây lành thì được quả lành, trồng cây độc thì được quả độc. Nhờ xem quả mà biết cây. 34 Hỡi loài rắn độc, làm thế nào các người ăn nói hiền lành khi chính các người độc ác? Vì lòng dạ có đầy tràn môi miệng mới nói ra. 35 Người lành do thiện tâm tích lũy, làm lành. Kẻ ác do ác tâm tích lũy, làm ác. 36 Nhưng Ta bảo các ngươi: Vào ngày phán xét mỗi người sẽ phải khai trình mọi lời nhảm nhí mình đã nói ra. 37 Vì do lời nói, các ngươi được xưng là công chính và cũng do lời nói, các ngươi bị hình phạt.”
Xin Dấu Lạ(E)
38 Bấy giờ, mấy giáo sư Kinh Luật và người Pha-ri-si nói cùng Đức Giê-su: “Thưa Thầy, chúng tôi muốn xem Thầy làm dấu lạ.”
39 Nhưng Ngài đáp cùng họ: “Dòng dõi gian ác bất trung này xin một dấu lạ, nhưng sẽ không được dấu lạ nào ngoại trừ dấu lạ của tiên tri Giô-na. 40 Vì như Giô-na đã ở trong bụng cá ba ngày ba đêm, Con Người cũng sẽ ở trong lòng đất ba ngày ba đêm. 41 Trong ngày phán xét, người Ni-ni-ve sẽ đứng dậy, lên án dân này, vì họ đã ăn năn hối cải khi nghe Giô-na rao giảng, và này ở đây có Đấng cao trọng hơn Giô-na nữa. 42 Trong ngày phán xét nữ hoàng nam phương cũng sẽ đứng dậy, lên án dân này, vì bà đã đến từ đầu cùng trái đất để nghe lời khôn ngoan của vua Sa-lô-môn, và này ở đây có Đấng vĩ đại hơn Sa-lô-môn.
Tà Linh Trở Về(F)
43 Khi tà linh ra khỏi một người, nó rảo qua nơi khô khan tìm chỗ nghỉ ngơi, nhưng không được. 44 Nó tự nhủ: ‘Ta hãy trở lại nhà cũ mình vừa ra khỏi.’ Khi trở về, nó thấy nhà trống, quét dọn sạch sẽ, ngăn nắp. 45 Nó đi rủ thêm bảy quỷ khác dữ hơn về ở đó. Như vậy, tình trạng sau này của người ấy còn tệ hại hơn trước. Thế hệ gian ác này cũng sẽ như vậy.”
Mẹ Và Em Chúa(G)
46 Khi Đức Giê-su còn đang dạy đám đông, mẹ và các em Ngài đến đứng ở ngoài, muốn nói chuyện với Ngài. 47 Có người nói: “Thưa Thầy, mẹ và các em Thầy đứng ở ngoài, muốn nói chuyện với Thầy.”
48 Ngài trả lời: “Ai là mẹ Ta, ai là anh em Ta?” 49 Ngài chỉ tay về phía các môn đệ bảo: “Đây là mẹ Ta và anh em Ta. 50 Vì ai làm theo ý Cha Ta ở trên trời, người ấy là anh em, chị em và là mẹ Ta.”

Abayigirizwa be ne balumwa enjala ne batandika okunoga ebirimba by’eŋŋaano ne babirya. 2 (B)Naye Abafalisaayo bwe baalaba kino ne bagamba Yesu nti, “Laba abayigirizwa bo bakola ekitakkirizibwa kukolebwa ku Ssabbiiti.”
3 (C)Naye Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Temusomanga ku Dawudi kye yakola bwe yalumwa enjala ne be yali nabo? 4 (D)Yayingira mu nnyumba ya Katonda n’alya emigaati egy’okulaga, egikkirizibwa bakabona bokka okulya. 5 (E)Oba temusomanga mu mateeka nti bakabona ababeera mu luwalo lw’okuweereza mu Yeekaalu ne basobya ku Ssabbiiti tebaliiko musango? 6 (F)Naye mbagamba nti ekisinga Yeekaalu kiri wano. 7 (G)Naye singa mumanyi amakulu ga kino nti, ‘Njagala mubeerenga ba kisa okusinga okuwangayo ssaddaaka,’ temwandinenyezza bataliiko musango. 8 (H)Kubanga Omwana w’Omuntu ye Mukama wa Ssabbiiti.”
9 N’avaayo n’ajja mu kuŋŋaaniro lyabwe. 10 (I)Laba mwalimu omusajja eyalina omukono ogwakala. Ne babuuza Yesu obanga kikkirizibwa okuwonya ku Ssabbiiti.[a] Baali basuubira nti anaddamu nti kituufu, balyoke bamuwawaabire.
11 (J)Naye n’abaddamu nti, “Singa wabaddewo omuntu mu mmwe ng’alina endiga emu, n’egwa mu bunnya ku lunaku lwa Ssabbiiti, tagiggyamu? 12 (K)Kale, omuntu tasinga nnyo endiga omuwendo? Noolwekyo kikkirizibwa okukola ekirungi ku Ssabbiiti.”
13 Bw’atyo n’agamba omusajja nti, “Golola omukono gwo.” N’agugolola ne guwona, ne guba mulamu nga gunnaagwo! 14 (L)Awo Abafalisaayo ne bafuluma ne bateesa nga bwe banaazikiriza Yesu.
Omuweereza wa Katonda
15 (M)Naye Yesu bwe yakimanya n’afuluma mu kuŋŋaaniro, abantu bangi nnyo ne bamugoberera, n’awonya abaali abalwadde bonna, 16 (N)kyokka n’abakomako baleme okumwatuukiriza. 17 Ebyayogerwa Nnabbi Isaaya biryoke bituukirire nti:
18 (O)“Laba Omuweereza wange, ggwe neerondera,
gwe njagala ennyo asanyusa emmeeme yange.
Ndimuteekako Omwoyo wange
era Alisalira amawanga gonna emisango.
19 Taliyomba so talireekaana,
era tewaliba n’omu aliwulira eddoboozi lye mu nguudo.
20 Talimenya lumuli lunafu,
wadde okuzikiriza
olutambi lw’ettaala olunyooka.
21 (P)Era abamawanga baliba n’essuubi mu linnya lye.”
Yesu ne Beeruzebuli
22 (Q)Awo Yesu ne bamuleetera omusajja eyaliko dayimooni, nga muzibe w’amaaso era nga tayogera. N’amuwonya, omusajja eyali tasobola kwogera n’asobola okwogera n’okulaba. 23 (R)Abantu bonna ne beewuunya ne boogera nti, “Ddala ddala ono si mwana wa Dawudi?”
24 (S)Naye Abafalisaayo bwe baakiwulira ne boogera nti, “Ono agoba baddayimooni ku bwa Beeruzebuli omukulu wa baddayimooni.”
25 (T)Yesu bwe yategeera ebirowoozo byabwe n’abagamba nti, “Obwakabaka bwe bwawukanamu, oba ekibuga wadde amaka, tebiyinza kuyimirira. 26 (U)Ne Setaani bw’agoba Setaani munne ku muntu aba yeyawuddemu. Obwakabaka bwe bunaayimirira butya? 27 (V)Obanga Nze ngoba baddayimooni ku bwa Beeruzebuli omukulu wa baddayimooni, kale batabani bammwe babagoba ku bw’ani? Noolwekyo be bali basalira omusango. 28 Naye bwe mba ngoba baddayimooni n’amaanyi g’Omwoyo wa Katonda, kale Obwakabaka bwa Katonda buzze gye muli.
29 “Oba omuntu ayinza atya okuyingira mu nnyumba y’omuntu ow’amaanyi, n’amunyagako ebintu bye okuggyako ng’asooka okusiba ow’amaanyi oyo? Olwo n’alyoka anyaga ebintu bye.
30 (W)“Oyo atali nange, mulabe wange. N’oyo atakuŋŋaanyiza wamu nange asaasaanya. 31 (X)Noolwekyo mbategeereza ddala nti omuntu alisonyiyibwa buli kibi kyonna, na buli kuvvoola. Naye alivvoola Mwoyo Mutukuvu talisonyiyibwa. 32 (Y)Na buli muntu ayogera ekigambo ekibi ku Mwana w’Omuntu alisonyiyibwa, naye ayogera ekibi ku Mwoyo Omutukuvu talisonyiyibwa mu mulembe guno wadde ogugenda okujja.
33 (Z)“Buli muti gutegeererwa ku bibala byagwo. Omuti bw’ogulabirira gubala ebibala ebirungi, naye bw’ogulagajjalira tegubala bibala. 34 (AA)Mmwe abaana b’embalasaasa, mmwe abalina ebibi muyinza mutya okwogera ebirungi? Akamwa koogera ku biba bijjudde mu mutima. 35 Omuntu omulungi afulumya ebirungi okuva mu tterekero lye eddungi, era n’omuntu omubi afulumya ebibi okuva mu tterekero lye ebbi. 36 Era mbategeeza nti buli kigambo kyonna ekitasaana abantu kye boogera, kiribabuuzibwa ku lunaku olw’okusalirako emisango. 37 Bwe bityo ebigambo byo bye birikuweesa obutuukirivu era ebigambo byo bye birikusalizisa omusango.”
Akabonero ka Nnabbi Yona
38 (AB)Awo abamu ku bannyonnyozi b’amateeka n’Abafalisaayo ne bagamba Yesu nti, “Omuyigiriza twagala otulage akabonero.”
39 (AC)Naye n’abaddamu nti, “Omulembe omwonoonefu era omwenzi ogunoonya akabonero; temugenda kuweebwa kabonero okuggyako aka nnabbi Yona. 40 (AD)Kubanga Yona nga bwe yamala mu lubuto lw’ekyennyanja ekinene ennaku ssatu emisana n’ekiro, n’Omwana w’Omuntu bw’atyo bw’alimala mu ttaka ennaku ssatu emisana n’ekiro. 41 (AE)Abantu b’e Nineeve baliyimirira ne basaliza abantu b’omulembe guno omusango okubasinga, kubanga beenenya bwe baawulira okubuulira kwa Yona. Yesu ne Baganda be ne Nnyina
46 (AH)Yesu bwe yali akyayogera n’ekibiina, nnyina ne baganda be ne batuuka ne bayimirira ebweru nga baagala okwogera naye. 47 Omuntu omu n’amutegeeza nti, “Nnyoko ne baganda bo, bali wabweru baagala kwogera nawe.”
48 Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Mmange ye ani era ne baganda bange be baani?” 49 N’agolola omukono gwe eri abayigirizwa be n’agamba nti, “Mulabe mmange ne baganda bange! 50 (AI)Kubanga buli akola ebyo Kitange ali mu ggulu by’ayagala oyo ye muganda wange, ye mwannyinaze era ye mmange.”

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath(A)(B)
12 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain(C) and eat them. 2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”(D)
3 He answered, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?(E) 4 He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread—which was not lawful for them to do, but only for the priests.(F) 5 Or haven’t you read in the Law that the priests on Sabbath duty in the temple desecrate the Sabbath(G) and yet are innocent? 6 I tell you that something greater than the temple is here.(H) 7 If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’[a](I) you would not have condemned the innocent. 8 For the Son of Man(J) is Lord of the Sabbath.”
9 Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue, 10 and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus,(K) they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”(L)
11 He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?(M) 12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep!(N) Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. 14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.(O)
God’s Chosen Servant
15 Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him, and he healed all who were ill.(P) 16 He warned them not to tell others about him.(Q) 17 This was to fulfill(R) what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
18 “Here is my servant whom I have chosen,
the one I love, in whom I delight;(S)
I will put my Spirit on him,(T)
and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
19 He will not quarrel or cry out;
no one will hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out,
till he has brought justice through to victory.
21 In his name the nations will put their hope.”[b](U)
Jesus and Beelzebul(V)
22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.(W) 23 All the people were astonished and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”(X)
24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul,(Y) the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”(Z)
25 Jesus knew their thoughts(AA) and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan(AB) drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? 27 And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul,(AC) by whom do your people(AD) drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God(AE) has come upon you.
29 “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.
30 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.(AF) 31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.(AG) 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age(AH) or in the age to come.(AI)
33 “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.(AJ) 34 You brood of vipers,(AK) how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks(AL) what the heart is full of. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”(AM)
The Sign of Jonah(AN)(AO)
38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign(AP) from you.”(AQ)
39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.(AR) 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish,(AS) so the Son of Man(AT) will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.(AU) 41 The men of Nineveh(AV) will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah,(AW) and now something greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came(AX) from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.
43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.(AY) That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers(AZ)
46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother(BA) and brothers(BB) stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”
48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven(BC) is my brother and sister and mother.”

7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
16 And charged them that they should not make him known:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
