Women who followed Jesus
8 Soon afterward, Jesus traveled through the cities and villages, preaching and proclaiming the good news of God’s kingdom. The Twelve were with him, 2 along with some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses. Among them were Mary Magdalene (from whom seven demons had been thrown out), 3 Joanna (the wife of Herod’s servant Chuza), Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.
Parable of the soils
4 When a great crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from one city after another, he spoke to them in a parable: 5 “A farmer went out to scatter his seed. As he was scattering it, some fell on the path where it was crushed, and the birds in the sky came and ate it. 6 Other seed fell on rock. As it grew, it dried up because it had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorny plants. The thorns grew with the plants and choked them. 8 Still other seed landed on good soil. When it grew, it produced one hundred times more grain than was scattered.” As he said this, he called out, “Everyone who has ears should pay attention.”
9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10 He said, “You have been given the mysteries of God’s kingdom, but these mysteries come to everyone else in parables so that when they see, they can’t see, and when they hear, they can’t understand.[a]
11 “The parable means this: The seed is God’s word. 12 The seed on the path are those who hear, but then the devil comes and steals the word from their hearts so that they won’t believe and be saved. 13 The seed on the rock are those who receive the word joyfully when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while but fall away when they are tempted. 14 As for the seed that fell among thorny plants, these are the ones who, as they go about their lives, are choked by the concerns, riches, and pleasures of life, and their fruit never matures. 15 The seed that fell on good soil are those who hear the word and commit themselves to it with a good and upright heart. Through their resolve, they bear fruit.
Sharing the light
16 “No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on top of a lampstand so that those who enter can see the light. 17 Nothing is hidden that won’t be exposed. Nor is anything concealed that won’t be made known and brought to the light. 18 Therefore, listen carefully. Those who have will receive more, but as for those who don’t have, even what they seem to have will be taken away from them.”
Jesus’ family
19 Jesus’ mother and brothers came to him but were unable to reach him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”
21 He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who listen to God’s word and do it.”
Jesus calms the sea
22 One day Jesus and his disciples boarded a boat. He said to them, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the lake.” So they set sail.
23 While they were sailing, he fell asleep. Gale-force winds swept down on the lake. The boat was filling up with water and they were in danger. 24 So they went and woke Jesus, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” But he got up and gave orders to the wind and the violent waves. The storm died down and it was calm.
25 He said to his disciples, “Where is your faith?”
Filled with awe and wonder, they said to each other, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him!”
Jesus frees a demon-possessed man
26 Jesus and his disciples sailed to the Gerasenes’ land, which is across the lake from Galilee. 27 As soon as Jesus got out of the boat, a certain man met him. The man was from the city and was possessed by demons. For a long time, he had lived among the tombs, naked and homeless. 28 When he saw Jesus, he shrieked and fell down before him. Then he shouted, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torture me!” 29 He said this because Jesus had already commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had taken possession of him, so he would be bound with leg irons and chains and placed under guard. But he would break his restraints, and the demon would force him into the wilderness.
30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“Legion,” he replied, because many demons had entered him. 31 They pleaded with him not to order them to go back into the abyss.[b] 32 A large herd of pigs was feeding on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs. Jesus gave them permission, 33 and the demons left the man and entered the pigs. The herd rushed down the cliff into the lake and drowned.
34 When those who tended the pigs saw what happened, they ran away and told the story in the city and in the countryside. 35 People came to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone. He was sitting at Jesus’ feet, fully dressed and completely sane. They were filled with awe. 36 Those people who had actually seen what had happened told them how the demon-possessed man had been delivered. 37 Then everyone gathered from the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave their area because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and returned across the lake. 38 The man from whom the demons had gone begged to come along with Jesus as one of his disciples. Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return home and tell the story of what God has done for you.” So he went throughout the city proclaiming what Jesus had done for him.
Jesus heals two women
40 When Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they had been waiting for him. 41 A man named Jairus, who was a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet. He pleaded with Jesus to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a twelve-year-old, was dying.
As Jesus moved forward, he faced smothering crowds. 43 A woman was there who had been bleeding for twelve years. She had spent her entire livelihood on doctors, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the hem of his clothes, and at once her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When everyone denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds are surrounding you and pressing in on you!”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me. I know that power has gone out from me.”
47 When the woman saw that she couldn’t escape notice, she came trembling and fell before Jesus. In front of everyone, she explained why she had touched him and how she had been immediately healed.
48 “Daughter, your faith has healed you,” Jesus said. “Go in peace.”
49 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the synagogue leader’s house, saying to Jairus, “Your daughter has died. Don’t bother the teacher any longer.”
50 When Jesus heard this, he responded, “Don’t be afraid; just keep trusting, and she will be healed.”
51 When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter with him except Peter, John, and James, and the child’s father and mother. 52 They were all crying and mourning for her, but Jesus said, “Don’t cry. She isn’t dead. She’s only sleeping.”
53 They laughed at him because they knew she was dead.
54 Taking her hand, Jesus called out, “Child, get up.” 55 Her life returned and she got up at once. He directed them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were beside themselves with joy, but he ordered them to tell no one what had happened.

4 (B)И понеже се събра голямо множество и идваха при Него от всеки град, каза им притча:
5 Сеячът излезе да сее семето си; и когато сееше, едно падна край пътя; и беше стъпкано, и небесните птици го изкълваха.
6 А друго падна на канарата; и щом поникна, изсъхна, защото нямаше влага.
7 Друго пък падна сред тръните; и заедно с него пораснаха тръните и го заглушиха.
8 А друго падна на добра земя и като порасна, даде плод стократно. Като каза това, извика: Който има уши да слуша, нека слуша.
9 (C)А учениците Му Го попитаха за значението на тази притча.
10 (D)Той каза: На вас е дадено да знаете тайните на Божието царство; а на другите се проповядва с притчи, така че като гледат, да не виждат, и като слушат, да не разбират.
11 (E)А ето значението на притчата. Семето е Божието слово.
12 (F)А посятото край пътя са тези, които са слушали; тогава идва дяволът и отнема словото от сърцата им, да не би да повярват и да се спасят.
13 (G)Падналото на канарата са тези, които, когато чуят, приемат словото с радост; но те, като нямат корен, временно вярват, а когато настане изпитание, отстъпват.
14 (H)Падналото сред тръните са онези, които са слушали и като си отиват, задушават се от грижи, богатства и житейски удоволствия и не дават узрял плод.
15 А посятото на добра земя са тези, които, като чуят словото, държат го в честно и добро сърце и дават плод с търпение.
Светилото и светилникът
16 (I)И никой, като запали светило, не го покрива със съд, нито го слага под легло; а го слага на светилник, за да видят светлината тези, които влизат.
17 (J)Защото няма нещо тайно, което да не стане явно, нито нещо скрито, което да не се узнае и да не излезе наяве.
18 (K)Затова внимавайте как слушате; защото който има, на него ще се даде; а който няма, от него ще се отнеме и това, което мисли, че има.
Майката и братята на Исус
19 (L)И дойдоха при Него майка Му и братята Му, но поради множеството не можаха да се приближат до Него.
20 И Го известиха: Майка Ти и братята Ти стоят вън и искат да Те видят.
21 А Той им отговори: Моя майка и Мои братя са тези, които слушат Божието слово и го изпълняват.
Укротяването на бурята
22 (M)А в един от тези дни Той влезе в една ладия с учениците Си и им каза: Да минем на отсрещната страна на езерото. И отплаваха.
23 А като плаваха, Той заспа; и над езерото се надигна буреносен вятър и вълните ги заплашваха така, че бяха в опасност.
24 И дойдоха, разбудиха Го и казаха: Наставнико! Наставнико! Загиваме! А той се събуди и смъмра вятъра и развълнуваната вода; и те се успокоиха и настана тишина.
25 (N)Исус им каза: Къде е вярата ви? А те, уплашени, се чудеха и си казваха един на друг: Кой ли ще е Този, Който заповядва на ветровете и водата и те Му се покоряват?
Излекуването на обладания от бесове
26 (O)И пристигнаха в Герасинската страна, която е срещу Галилея.
27 И като излезе на сушата, срещна Го от града един човек, който имаше бесове и дълго време не беше обличал дреха, и не живееше в къща, а в гробищата.
28 Той, като видя Исус, извика, падна пред Него и каза със силен глас: Какво общо имаш Ти с мен, Исусе, Сине на Всевишния Бог? Моля Ти се, недей ме мъчи.
29 Защото Исус бе заповядал на нечистия дух да излезе от човека. Понеже много пъти го беше прихващал; и го вързваха с вериги и окови и го пазеха; но той разкъсваше връзките и бесът го гонеше по пущинаците.
30 Исус го попита: Как ти е името? А той каза: Легион; защото много бесове бяха влезли в него.
31 (P)И Го молеха да не им заповядва да отидат в бездната.
32 А там имаше голямо стадо свине, което пасеше по хълма; и бесовете Го помолиха да им позволи да влязат в тях. И Той им позволи.
33 И като излязоха бесовете от човека и влязоха в свинете, стадото се спусна по стръмнината в езерото и се издави.
34 А свинарите, като видяха станалото, избягаха и известиха за това в града и в селата.
35 И като излязоха да видят станалото и дойдоха при Исус, намериха човека, от когото бяха излезли бесовете, седнал при нозете на Исус, облечен и с ума си; и се изплашиха.
36 А тези, които бяха видели това, им разказаха как бе изцелен[a] обладаният от бесове.
37 (Q)И цялото множество от Герасинския край Му се помоли да си отиде от тях, защото бяха обзети от голям страх; и Той влезе в лодката и се завърна.
38 (R)А човекът, от когото бяха излезли бесовете, Му се молеше да бъде с Него; но Исус го изпрати с думите:
39 Върни се у дома си и разкажи какво направи за тебе Бог. И той отиде и разгласи по целия град какво направи за него Исус.
Възкресяването на дъщерята на Яир
40 А когато Исус се върна, народът Го посрещна радостно, защото всички Го чакаха.
41 (S)И, ето, дойде един човек на име Яир, който беше началник на синагогата, и падна пред нозете на Исус и Му се молеше да влезе в къщата му,
42 защото имаше едничка дъщеря, на около дванадесет години, и тя умираше. И когато Исус отиваше, народът Го притискаше.
43 (T)И една жена, която имаше кръвотечение от дванадесет години и беше похарчила по лекари целия си имот, без да може да я излекува някой,
44 се приближи отзад и се допря до полата на дрехата Му; и начаса кръвотечението престана.
45 (U)И Исус каза: Кой се допря до Мене? И когато всички отричаха, Петър и онези, които бяха с Него, казаха: Наставнико, множеството се тълпи около Теб и Те притиска, а Ти казваш: Кой се допря до Мене?.

47 И жената, като видя, че не можа да се скрие, дойде разтреперана и падна пред Него, и извика пред целия народ по коя причина се допря до Него и как начаса оздравя.
48 А Той каза: Дъще, твоята вяра те изцели; иди си с мир.
49 (W)Докато Той още говореше, дойде някой си от къщата на началника на синагогата и каза: Дъщеря ти умря; не затруднявай Учителя.
50 А Исус, като чу това, му отговори: Не бой се; само вярвай и тя ще се избави.

Mga Babaing Kasama ni Jesus

19 Pumunta kay Jesus ang kanyang ina at mga kapatid na lalaki ngunit hindi sila makalapit sa kanya dahil sa dami ng tao. 20 Kaya't may nagsabi sa kanya, “Nasa labas po ang inyong ina at mga kapatid na lalaki. Gusto nila kayong makita.” 21 Ngunit sinabi niya sa kanila, “Ang aking ina at mga kapatid na lalaki ay ang mga nakikinig at tumutupad sa salita ng Diyos.”
Pinayapa ni Jesus ang Unos(F)
22 Isang araw, sumakay si Jesus at ang kanyang mga alagad sa isang bangka. Sinabi niya sa kanila, “Tumawid tayo sa kabilang pampang ng lawa.” At naglayag naman sila. 23 Sa kanilang paglalakbay ay nakatulog siya. Bumugso ang isang unos at napuno ng tubig ang bangka at sila ay nanganib. 24 Kaya't nilapitan nila siya at ginising, “Guro! Guro! Mamamatay na tayo!” Gumising siya at sinaway niya ang hangin at ang mga nagngangalit na alon sa lawa. Humupa naman ang mga ito at pumayapa. 25 Sinabi niya sa kanila, “Nasaan ang inyong pananampalataya?” Natakot sila at namangha, at sinabi sa isa't isa, “Sino nga kaya ito, at nauutusan niya maging ang hangin at tubig, at sila'y sumusunod sa kanya?”
Pinagaling ni Jesus ang Lalaking Sinaniban ng Demonyo(G)
26 Si Jesus at ang mga alagad ay naglayag patungo sa bayan ng mga Geraseno,[a] na nasa tapat ng Galilea. 27 Pagdating niya sa lupaing iyon, sinalubong siya ng isang lalaking tagaroon na sinasaniban ng mga demonyo. Matagal na itong hindi nagsusuot ng damit at hindi tumitira sa bahay kundi sa mga libingan. 28 Nagsisigaw ito nang makita si Jesus, at nagpatirapa sa harap niya at sinabi nang malakas, “Ano ang pakialam mo sa akin Jesus, Anak ng Kataas-taasang Diyos? Nakikiusap ako na huwag mo akong pahirapan.” 29 Sinabi ito sapagkat ipinag-utos ni Jesus sa maruming espiritu na lumabas sa lalaki. Madalas na itong sumasanib sa kanya. Iginapos na rin siya ng kadena nang may bantay at tinalian ng bakal sa paa ngunit napapatid pa rin niya ang mga ito at itinataboy siya ng demonyo sa ilang. 30 Tinanong siya ni Jesus, “Ano ang pangalan mo?” “Lehiyon,” ang sagot niya, sapagkat maraming demonyo ang pumasok sa kanya. 31 Nakiusap ang mga ito na huwag silang utusang bumalik sa walang hanggang kalaliman. 32 Noon ay may kawan ng baboy na nanginginain sa burol. Nakiusap ang mga demonyo kay Jesus na hayaan silang makapasok sa mga iyon at sila nama'y hinayaan niya. 33 Pagkalabas ng mga demonyo sa lalaki ay pumasok ang mga ito sa mga baboy. Sumibad pababa sa bangin ang kawan patungong lawa at nalunod. 34 Pagkakita ng mga tagapag-alaga sa nangyari ay tumakas sila at ipinamalita iyon sa bayan at sa kabukiran. 35 Naglabasan sila upang makita ang nangyari. At lumapit sila kay Jesus at nakita nila ang lalaking sinaniban ng masasamang espiritu na nakaupo sa paanan ni Jesus, nakadamit, at nasa matino nang pag-iisip; at sila'y natakot. 36 Ibinalita sa kanila ng mga nakakita kung paano pinagaling ang sinaniban ng demonyo. 37 Nagmakaawa kay Jesus ang lahat ng tao sa paligid ng bayan ng mga Geraseno[b] na sila ay iwan niya sapagkat matinding takot ang bumalot sa kanila. Kaya sumakay siya sa bangka upang umuwi. 38 Subalit nakiusap ang lalaking iniwan ng mga demonyo na siya ay makasama ngunit hindi ito pinaunlakan ni Jesus at sa halip ay sinabi, 39 “Umuwi ka sa iyong bahay at isalaysay mo ang mga ginawa ng Diyos sa iyo.” At siya ay humayo at ipinahayag sa buong lungsod ang mga ginawa sa kanya ni Jesus.
Ang Anak ni Jairo at ang Babaing Humipo sa Damit ni Jesus(H)
40 Pagbalik ni Jesus, tinanggap siya ng mga tao sapagkat lahat sila ay naghihintay sa kanya. 41 Dumating ang isang lalaking nagngangalang Jairo. Siya ay pinuno ng sinagoga. Nagpatirapa siya sa paanan ni Jesus at nakiusap sa kanyang pumunta sa kanyang bahay 42 sapagkat ang kaisa-isa niyang anak na babaing labindalawang taong gulang ay naghihingalo.
Habang paalis na si Jesus, nagigitgit siya ng mga tao. 43 Isang babae roon ang labindalawang taon nang dinudugo. Nagugol na niya ang lahat ng kanyang kabuhayan sa manggagamot.[c] Hindi na siya kayang pagalingin ninuman. 44 Lumapit siya sa likuran ni Jesus at hinipo ang laylayan ng damit nito. Agad tumigil ang kanyang pagdurugo. 45 Sinabi ni Jesus, “Sino ang humipo sa akin?” Nang walang umaamin ay sinabi ni Pedro, “Panginoon, sinisiksik ka ng mga tao at napapalibutan.” 46 Ngunit sinabi pa rin ni Jesus, “May humipo sa akin sapagkat alam kong may lumabas na kapangyarihan sa akin.” 47 Nang makita ng babae na hindi lingid ang kanyang ginawa, nanginginig itong lumapit at nagpatirapa sa paanan ni Jesus. Sinabi niya sa harap ng mga taong naroroon kung bakit niya hinawakan si Jesus at kung paanong gumaling siya agad. 48 Kaya sinabi ni Jesus sa babae, “Anak, pinagaling ka ng iyong pananampalataya. Humayo kang panatag ang kalooban.” 49 Nagsasalita pa siya nang dumating ang isang mula sa bahay ng pinuno ng sinagoga at nagsabing, “Patay na ang iyong anak! Huwag mo nang gambalain ang Guro.” 50 Ngunit pagkarinig dito ni Jesus ay sinabi niya kay Jairo, “Huwag kang mangamba! Sumampalataya ka lang at siya ay gagaling.” 51 Pagkarating niya sa bahay ay hindi niya pinayagan ang sinumang makapasok na kasama niya maliban kina Pedro, Juan at Santiago at ang ama at ina ng bata. 52 Nag-iiyakan ang lahat at nananaghoy. Ngunit sinabi niya, “Huwag kayong umiyak sapagkat hindi siya patay kundi natutulog lang.” 53 Siya'y kanilang pinagtawanan sapagkat alam nilang patay na ang bata. 54 Nang hawakan niya ang kamay nito ay tumawag at nagsabi, “Ineng, bumangon ka!” 55 At bumalik ang espiritu ng bata at bumangon ito agad. The Parable of the Sower(A)
8 After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.(B) The Twelve were with him, 2 and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene)(C) from whom seven demons had come out; 3 Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s(D) household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.
4 While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: 5 “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. 6 Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”
When he said this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”(E)
9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10 He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you,(F) but to others I speak in parables, so that,
11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.(H) 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.(I) 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches(J) and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
A Lamp on a Stand
16 “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.(K) 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.(L) 18 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.”(M)
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers(N)
19 Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers(O) are standing outside, wanting to see you.”
21 He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”(P)
Jesus Calms the Storm(Q)(R)
22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. 23 As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.
24 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master,(S) we’re going to drown!”
He got up and rebuked(T) the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.(U) 25 “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.
In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”
Jesus Restores a Demon-Possessed Man(V)(W)
26 They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes,[b] which is across the lake from Galilee. 27 When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me,(X) Jesus, Son of the Most High God?(Y) I beg you, don’t torture me!” 29 For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places.
30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”
“Legion,” he replied, because many demons had gone into him. 31 And they begged Jesus repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss.(Z)
32 A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs, and he gave them permission. 33 When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake(AA) and was drowned.
34 When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, 35 and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet,(AB) dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 36 Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed(AC) man had been cured. 37 Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them,(AD) because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left.
38 The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman(AE)
40 Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. 41 Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader,(AF) came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with him to come to his house 42 because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying.
As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding(AG) for twelve years,[c] but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak,(AH) and immediately her bleeding stopped.
45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master,(AI) the people are crowding and pressing against you.”
46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me;(AJ) I know that power has gone out from me.”(AK)
47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you.(AL) Go in peace.”(AM)
49 While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader.(AN) “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”
50 Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
51 When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James,(AO) and the child’s father and mother. 52 Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning(AP) for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.”(AQ)
53 They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54 But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!”(AR) 55 Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. 56 Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.(AS)
