²² “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe^(A) and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger^(B) and sandals on his feet.

¹¹ Then each of them was given a white robe,^(A) and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters,^[a] were killed just as they had been.^(B)

³ Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. ⁴ The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.”

Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin,^(A) and I will put fine garments^(B) on you.”

⁵ Then I said, “Put a clean turban^(C) on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by.

² The king took off his signet ring,^(A) which he had reclaimed from Haman, and presented it to Mordecai. And Esther appointed him over Haman’s estate.^(B)

⁴² Then Pharaoh took his signet ring^(A) from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes^(B) of fine linen^(C) and put a gold chain around his neck.^(D)

¹⁰ So the king took his signet ring^(A) from his finger and gave it to Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews.

(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts^(B) of God’s holy people.)

The Great Multitude in White Robes

⁹ After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language,^(A) standing before the throne^(B) and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes^(C) and were holding palm branches in their hands.
