7 Then he said to another, What do you owe? And he said, A hundred quarters of wheat. The steward said to him, Take your bill and write eighty.
8 And the lord commended the unjust steward because he had done wisely. For among their own, the children of this world are wiser than the children of light. 9 And I say also to you, make friends for yourselves with the wicked mammon, so that when you depart this world, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

7 “Then he asked the second, ‘And how much do you owe?’
“‘A thousand bushels[a] of wheat,’ he replied.
“He told him, ‘Take your bill and make it eight hundred.’
8 “The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world(A) are more shrewd(B) in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.(C) 9 I tell you, use worldly wealth(D) to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.(E)
