22 At sinalita ng Panginoon kay Moises, na sinasabi,

²Salitain mo kay Aaron at sa kaniyang mga anak ^(A)na sila'y magsihiwalay sa mga banal na bagay ng mga anak ni Israel, ^(B)na ikinagiging banal nila sa akin, at huwag nilang lapastanganin ang aking banal na pangalan: ako ang Panginoon.

³Sabihin mo sa kanila, Sinomang lalake sa lahat ng inyong binhi sa buong panahon ng inyong lahi, na lumapit sa mga banal na bagay na ikinagiging banal ng mga anak ni Israel sa Panginoon, ^(C)na taglay ang kaniyang karumihan, ay ihihiwalay ang taong iyon sa harap ko: ako ang Panginoon.

⁴Sinomang lalake sa binhi ni Aaron na may ketong o ^(D)may agas; ay hindi kakain ng mga banal na bagay ^(E)hanggang siya'y malinis. At ^(F)ang humipo ng alin mang bagay na karumaldumal dahil sa patay, o ^(G)lalaking nilabasan ng binhi nito;

⁵O sinomang ^(H)humipo ng anomang umuusad na makapagpaparumi, o ^(I)lalaking makakahawa dahil sa alin mang karumihan niya;

⁶Ang lalaking humipo ng gayon ay magiging karumaldumal hanggang sa hapon, at hindi kakain ng mga banal na bagay maliban na ^(J)maligo siya sa tubig.

⁷At pagkalubog ng araw, ay magiging malinis siya; at pagkatapos ay makakakain ng mga banal na bagay, ^(K)sapagka't siya niyang tinapay.

⁸Yaong bagay na namatay sa sarili, o nilapa ng mga ganid, ay huwag niyang kakanin, na makapagpapahawa sa kaniya: ako ang Panginoon.

⁹Iingatan nga nila ang aking bilin, ^(L)baka sila'y magkasala sa paraang iyan, at kanilang ikamatay, kung kanilang lapastanganin: ako ang Panginoon na nagpapaging banal sa kanila.

¹⁰^(M)Hindi makakakain ang sinomang taga ibang bayan ng banal na bagay: sinomang nakikipanuluyan sa saserdote, o aliping upahan niya ay hindi makakakain ng banal na bagay.

¹¹Nguni't kung ang saserdote ay bumili ng sinomang tao sa kaniyang salapi, ay makakakain ito; at gayon din ang aliping inianak sa kaniyang bahay ^(N)ay makakakain ng kaniyang tinapay.

¹²At kung ang isang anak na babae ng saserdote ay magasawa sa isang taga ibang bayan, ay hindi makakakain sa handog na itinaas sa mga banal na bagay.

¹³Datapuwa't kung ang anak na babae ng saserdote ay bao o inihiwalay, na walang anak ^(O)at bumalik sa bahay ng kaniyang ama ^(P)na gaya rin ng kaniyang pagkadalaga, ay makakakain ng tinapay ng kaniyang ama, nguni't ang sinomang taga ibang bayan ay hindi makakakain niyaon.

¹⁴^(Q)At kung ang sinomang lalake ay magkamaling kumain ng banal na bagay, ay kaniyang daragdagan pa nga ng ikalimang bahagi yaon, at ibibigay niya sa saserdote ang banal na bagay.

¹⁵^(R)At huwag nilang dudumhan ang mga banal na bagay ng mga anak ni Israel, na inihahandog sa Panginoon;

¹⁶At ^(S)gayon papasanin ang kasamaan ng nagtataglay ng sala, pagka kanilang kinakain ang kanilang mga banal na bagay: sapagka't ako ang Panginoon na nagpapaging banal sa kanila.

Ang hayop na maaaring maging handog

¹⁷At sinalita ng Panginoon kay Moises, na sinasabi,

¹⁸Salitain mo kay Aaron at sa kaniyang mga anak, at sa lahat ng mga anak ni Israel, at sabihin mo sa kanila, ^(T)Sinoman sa sangbahayan ni Israel, o sa mga taga ibang bayan sa Israel, na maghahandog ng kaniyang alay, maging anomang panata nila, o maging anomang kusang handog nila, na kanilang inihahandog sa Panginoon na pinaka handog na susunugin;

¹⁹^(U)Upang kayo'y tanggapin, ang inyong ihahandog ay lalaking hayop na walang kapintasan, sa mga baka, sa mga tupa, o sa mga kambing.

²⁰^(V)Datapuwa't alin mang may kapintasan, ay huwag ninyong ihahandog; sapagka't hindi tatanggapin sa inyo.

²¹^(W)At sinomang maghandog sa Panginoon ng haing handog tungkol sa kapayapaan, ^(X)sa pagtupad ng isang panata o kaya'y kusang handog, na mula sa bakahan o sa kawan ay kinakailangang sakdal, upang tanggapin; anomang kapintasan ay huwag magkakaroon.

²²^(Y)Bulag, o may bali, o may hiwa, o may sugat, o ^(Z)galisin, o malangib, ay huwag ninyong ihahandog ang mga ito sa Panginoon, ni huwag kayong maghahandog sa Panginoon ng mga iyan na ^(AA)pinaraan sa apoy sa ibabaw ng dambana.

²³Maging toro o tupa ^(AB)na may anomang kuntil o kulang sa kaniyang sangkap ng katawan, ay maihahandog mo na handog mo na kusa, datapuwa't sa panata ay hindi tatanggapin.

²⁴Yaong niluluslusan, o napisa, o nabasag, o naputol ay huwag ninyong ihahandog sa Panginoon; ni huwag kayong gagawa ng ganyan sa inyong lupain.

²⁵Ni mula sa kamay ng taga ibang lupa ay huwag ninyong ihahandog na ^(AC)pinakatinapay ng inyong Dios ang alin mang mga hayop na ito: ^(AD)sapagka't taglay nila ang kanilang karumhan, may kapintasan sa mga iyan: hindi tatanggapin sa inyo.

²⁶At sinalita ng Panginoon kay Moises, na sinasabi,

²⁷^(AE)Pagka may ipinanganak, na baka, o tupa, o kambing ay mapapasa kaniyang ina ngang pitong araw; at mula sa ikawalong araw hanggang sa haharapin ay tatanggaping alay sa Panginoon na handog na pinaraan sa apoy.

Ang mga Handog sa Panginoon

22 Inutusan ng Panginoon si Moises ²na sabihin ito kay Aaron at sa mga anak niyang lalaki:

Huwag ninyong lapastanganin ang banal kong pangalan. Igalang ninyo ang mga handog na inihahandog sa akin ng mga Israelita. Ako ang Panginoon.

³Ang sinumang anak ni Aaron ngayon at sa susunod pang mga henerasyon na hihipo ng handog para sa akin ngunit siyaʼy itinuturing na marumi,^[a] ay hindi na makapaglilingkod bilang pari. Ako ang Panginoon.

^4-7Walang sinuman sa inyo ang maaaring kumain ng handog kung siyaʼy may malubhang sakit sa balat,^[b] o may sakit na tulo o nakahipo ng anumang bagay na marumi dahil nadikit ito sa patay, o nilabasan ng binhi, o nakahipo ng hayop o tao na itinuturing na marumi. Siyaʼy maaari lamang kumain ng mga handog kung siyaʼy nakapaligo na.^[c] Pero maghihintay siya hanggang sa paglubog ng araw at saka pa lang siya makakakain ng mga handog na pagkain niya bilang pari.

⁸Hindi kayo dapat kumain ng alin mang karne ng namatay na hayop o pinatay ng kapwa hayop, dahil kapag ginawa ninyo ito, kayoʼy ituturing na marumi. Ako ang Panginoon.

⁹Kaya dapat ninyong sundin ang mga iniuutos kong ito sa inyo para hindi kayo magkasala sa akin o mamatay. Ako ang Panginoong nagtalaga sa inyo para sa akin.

¹⁰Kayong mga pari at ang inyong sambahayan lang ang makakakain ng bahagi ng handog na para sa mga pari. Hindi maaaring kumain nito ang inyong mga panauhin o ang inyong mga upahang manggagawa. ¹¹Pero maaaring kumain ang inyong aliping binili, o ipinanganak sa tahanan ninyo. ¹²Hindi rin maaaring kumain nito ang babaeng anak ng pari na nakapag-asawa ng hindi pari. ¹³Pero kung siyaʼy nabiyuda o naghiwalay sila ng kanyang asawa at wala silang anak, at muling tumira sa kanyang ama, siyaʼy maaaring kumain ng pagkaing tinatanggap ng kanyang ama bilang pari.

Tandaan ninyong mabuti na kayong mga pari lang at ang inyong sambahayan ang maaaring kumain ng bahagi ng handog na para sa inyo. ¹⁴Pero kung sa hindi inaasahang pangyayari ay may taong nakakain na hindi kabilang sa inyong sambahayan, dapat niyang palitan ang kanyang kinain at dadagdagan pa niya ng 20 porsiyento ang halaga noon.

¹⁵Kayong mga pari, pakaingatan ninyo ang mga handog na inihahandog sa akin ng mga Israelita, ¹⁶para sa inyong pagkain nito ay hindi kayo magkasala at nang wala kayong pananagutan sa akin. Ako ang Panginoong nagtalaga sa inyo para sa akin.

Mga Tuntunin tungkol sa Pagpili ng Hayop na Ihahandog

¹⁷Inutusan ng Panginoon si Moises ¹⁸na sabihin ito kay Aaron at sa mga anak niyang lalaki, sa lahat ng mga Israelita pati na sa mga dayuhang naninirahang kasama nila:

Kung ang iaalay ay handog na sinusunog bilang handog para tuparin ang isang panata o handog na kusang-loob, ¹⁹ang kailangan ay lalaking baka o tupa, o kambing na walang kapintasan para tanggapin ko. ²⁰Huwag kayong maghahandog ng may kapansanan dahil hindi ko iyon tatanggapin. ²¹Kung ang handog para sa mabuting relasyon sa akin ay inialay bilang handog para tuparin ang isang panata o handog na kusang-loob, itoʼy kailangang baka, tupa, o kambing na walang kapintasan upang itoʼy tanggapin ko. ²²Huwag kayong maghahandog sa akin ng bulag, may bali, may sugat, o may sakit sa balat. Huwag ninyo itong ialay sa altar bilang handog sa akin sa pamamagitan ng apoy. ²³Pero maaari kayong mag-alay ng handog na kusang-loob na baka o tupang bansot o may kapansanan ang isang bahagi ng katawan, pero hindi ito maaaring ialay bilang handog para tuparin ang isang panata. ²⁴Huwag kayong maghahandog sa akin ng hayop na kinapon o may kapansanan ang itlog. Huwag ninyong gagawin iyon sa inyong lupain. ²⁵Huwag din kayong bumili ng mga hayop na ganoong uri mula sa ibang lugar at ihandog sa akin, dahil hindi ko iyon tatanggapin.

^26-27Ang bagong ipinanganak na baka, tupa, o kambing ay dapat manatili sa kanyang ina sa loob ng pitong araw. Pero mula sa ikawalong araw, maaari na itong ialay sa akin bilang handog sa pamamagitan ng apoy. ²⁸Huwag ninyong ihahandog nang sabay sa isang araw ang baka o tupa at ang kanyang anak.

²⁹Kung kayoʼy maghahandog sa akin ng handog ng pasasalamat, sundin ninyo ang tamang paraan sa paghahandog nito para tanggapin ko ito. ³⁰At dapat ninyo itong kainin sa araw ding iyon ng paghahandog at huwag kayong magtitira hanggang sa kinabukasan. Ako ang Panginoon.

³¹Sundin ninyo ang aking mga utos. Ako ang Panginoon. ³²Huwag ninyong lapastanganin ang banal kong pangalan, at akoʼy kilalanin ninyong banal. Ako ang Panginoong nagtalaga sa inyo para sa akin. ³³Ako ang naglabas sa inyo sa Egipto para maging Dios ninyo. Ako ang Panginoon.

22 The Lord said to Moses, ²“Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings^(A) the Israelites consecrate to me, so they will not profane my holy name.^(B) I am the Lord.^(C)

³“Say to them: ‘For the generations to come, if any of your descendants is ceremonially unclean and yet comes near the sacred offerings that the Israelites consecrate to the Lord,^(D) that person must be cut off from my presence.^(E) I am the Lord.

⁴“‘If a descendant of Aaron has a defiling skin disease^[a] or a bodily discharge,^(F) he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is cleansed. He will also be unclean if he touches something defiled by a corpse^(G) or by anyone who has an emission of semen, ⁵or if he touches any crawling thing^(H) that makes him unclean, or any person^(I) who makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be. ⁶The one who touches any such thing will be unclean^(J) till evening.^(K) He must not eat any of the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.^(L) ⁷When the sun goes down, he will be clean, and after that he may eat the sacred offerings, for they are his food.^(M) ⁸He must not eat anything found dead^(N) or torn by wild animals,^(O) and so become unclean^(P) through it. I am the Lord.^(Q)

⁹“‘The priests are to perform my service^(R) in such a way that they do not become guilty^(S) and die^(T) for treating it with contempt. I am the Lord, who makes them holy.^(U)

¹⁰“‘No one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offering, nor may the guest of a priest or his hired worker eat it.^(V) ¹¹But if a priest buys a slave with money, or if slaves are born in his household, they may eat his food.^(W) ¹²If a priest’s daughter marries anyone other than a priest, she may not eat any of the sacred contributions. ¹³But if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or is divorced, yet has no children, and she returns to live in her father’s household as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food. No unauthorized person, however, may eat it.

¹⁴“‘Anyone who eats a sacred offering by mistake^(X) must make restitution to the priest for the offering and add a fifth of the value^(Y) to it. ¹⁵The priests must not desecrate the sacred offerings^(Z) the Israelites present to the Lord^(AA) ¹⁶by allowing them to eat^(AB) the sacred offerings and so bring upon them guilt^(AC) requiring payment.^(AD) I am the Lord, who makes them holy.^(AE)’”

Unacceptable Sacrifices

¹⁷The Lord said to Moses, ¹⁸“Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites and say to them: ‘If any of you—whether an Israelite or a foreigner residing in Israel^(AF)—presents a gift^(AG) for a burnt offering to the Lord, either to fulfill a vow^(AH) or as a freewill offering,^(AI) ¹⁹you must present a male without defect^(AJ) from the cattle, sheep or goats in order that it may be accepted on your behalf.^(AK) ²⁰Do not bring anything with a defect,^(AL) because it will not be accepted on your behalf.^(AM) ²¹When anyone brings from the herd or flock^(AN) a fellowship offering^(AO) to the Lord to fulfill a special vow or as a freewill offering,^(AP) it must be without defect or blemish^(AQ) to be acceptable.^(AR) ²²Do not offer to the Lord the blind, the injured or the maimed, or anything with warts or festering or running sores. Do not place any of these on the altar as a food offering presented to the Lord. ²³You may, however, present as a freewill offering an ox^[b] or a sheep that is deformed or stunted, but it will not be accepted in fulfillment of a vow. ²⁴You must not offer to the Lord an animal whose testicles are bruised, crushed, torn or cut.^(AS) You must not do this in your own land, ²⁵and you must not accept such animals from the hand of a foreigner and offer them as the food of your God.^(AT) They will not be accepted on your behalf, because they are deformed and have defects.^(AU)’”

²⁶The Lord said to Moses, ²⁷“When a calf, a lamb or a goat^(AV) is born, it is to remain with its mother for seven days.^(AW) From the eighth day^(AX) on, it will be acceptable^(AY) as a food offering presented to the Lord. ²⁸Do not slaughter a cow or a sheep and its young on the same day.^(AZ)

²⁹“When you sacrifice a thank offering^(BA) to the Lord, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf. ³⁰It must be eaten that same day; leave none of it till morning.^(BB) I am the Lord.^(BC)

³¹“Keep^(BD) my commands and follow them.^(BE) I am the Lord. ³²Do not profane my holy name,^(BF) for I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites.^(BG) I am the Lord, who made you holy^(BH) ³³and who brought you out of Egypt^(BI) to be your God.^(BJ) I am the Lord.”

Protecting What Is Sanctified. ¹The Lord spoke to Moses saying, ²“Tell Aaron and his son to treat the holy things of the children of Israel with respect so that they not profane my holy name by those things that they have consecrated to me. I am the Lord.

³“Say to them: Any of your descendants who approaches these holy things that the children of Israel have consecrated to the Lord while he is unclean, that person will be cut off from my presence. I am the Lord.

⁴“Any descendant who is a leper or who has a discharge shall not eat of the holy things until he is clean. Whoever touches anything made unclean by contact with a dead person or who has had an emission of semen ⁵or whoever touches any creeping thing that can make him unclean, or touches a man whose uncleanness he acquires, whatever the source of uncleanness, ⁶if someone touches one such a person, then he shall be unclean until the evening, and he shall not eat of the holy things unless he bathes himself with water. ⁷When the sun sets, he shall be clean. He can then eat the holy things, for it is his food. ⁸He shall not eat anything that died on its own or was torn apart by wild beasts, thereby defiling himself. I am the Lord. ⁹They shall therefore observe my statutes lest they become guilty and die when they profane it. I am the Lord, who sanctifies them.^[a]

¹⁰“No foreigner can eat the holy things. No guest of the priest or hired hand can eat the holy things. ¹¹But if the priest buys a slave, the slave can eat it, and if a slave is born to his household, he can eat his food. ¹²If a priest’s daughter marries an outsider, she cannot eat an offering of the holy things. ¹³But if a priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced and she has no children, and she has returned to her father’s household as when she was young, she can eat from her father’s portion of food, but no outsider is to eat of it. ¹⁴If someone eats some of the holy things by accident, he is to add a fifth to its value and give the holy thing to the priest. ¹⁵They must not profane the holy things of the children of Israel that they offer to the Lord ¹⁶lest they bear the guilt of their trespass when they eat their holy things. I am the Lord, who consecrates them.”

¹⁷Acceptable Offerings.^[b]The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁸“Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the children of Israel saying: If anyone from the house of Israel or from among the aliens living in Israel presents a burnt offering as a votive offering or a free-will offering to the Lord, ¹⁹it must be a male without blemish from among the cattle or the sheep or the goats, for you to be found acceptable. ²⁰You shall offer nothing with a defect; it shall not be acceptable for you. ²¹If someone offers a peace offering as the fulfillment of a vow or as a free-will offering, whether it be from the cattle or the sheep, it must be perfect to be acceptable. It must have no defect. ²²You shall not offer anything that is blind or injured or maimed, or anything with sores or scabs or scales. You shall not use these as an offering to the Lord by fire, on the altar to the Lord. ²³You can offer a young bull or a lamb that has any parts that are in excess or lacking as a free-will offering, but it is not acceptable for a votive offering. ²⁴You shall not offer anything that is bruised or crushed or broken or cut to the Lord. You shall not make this type of offering in your land. ²⁵You shall not offer food from a foreigner’s hand to your God. All of these things have their corruption in them and their blemishes in them; they are not acceptable for you.”

²⁶The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁷“When a young bull or a sheep or a goat is brought as an offering, you shall leave it for seven days with its mother. On the eighth day, it shall be acceptable as an offering made by fire to the Lord. ²⁸You are not to kill a cow or ewe with its young on the same day. ²⁹When you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving^[c] to the Lord, you are to do it in the correct manner. ³⁰You shall eat it on the day that you offer it; none of it is to be left over until the next day. I am the Lord. ³¹You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord.

³²“You shall not profane my holy name, for I am to be hallowed among the children of Israel. I am the Lord who hallows you, ³³who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord.”

22 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

²Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the Lord.

³Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the Lord, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the Lord.

⁴What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;

⁵Or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath;

⁶The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.

⁷And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.

⁸That which dieth of itself, or is torn with beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith; I am the Lord.

⁹They shall therefore keep mine ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the Lord do sanctify them.

¹⁰There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.

¹¹But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.

¹²If the priest's daughter also be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of an offering of the holy things.

¹³But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father's meat: but there shall be no stranger eat thereof.

¹⁴And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.

¹⁵And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the Lord;

¹⁶Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the Lord do sanctify them.

¹⁷And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

¹⁸Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the Lord for a burnt offering;

¹⁹Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.

²²Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the Lord, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the Lord.

²³Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.

²⁴Ye shall not offer unto the Lord that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.

²⁵Neither from a stranger's hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

²⁶And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

²⁷When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

²⁸And whether it be cow, or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day.

²⁹And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it at your own will.

³⁰On the same day it shall be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the morrow: I am the Lord.

³¹Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord.

³²Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you,

³³That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.
