4 Les enfants d'Israël firent encore ce qui déplaît à l'Éternel, après qu'Éhud fut mort.
2 Et l'Éternel les vendit entre les mains de Jabin, roi de Canaan, qui régnait à Hatsor. Le chef de son armée était Sisera, et habitait à Haroscheth Goïm.
3 Les enfants d'Israël crièrent à l'Éternel, car Jabin avait neuf cents chars de fer, et il opprimait avec violence les enfants d'Israël depuis vingt ans.
4 Dans ce temps-là, Débora, prophétesse, femme de Lappidoth, était juge en Israël.
5 Elle siégeait sous le palmier de Débora, entre Rama et Béthel, dans la montagne d'Éphraïm; et les enfants d'Israël montaient vers elle pour être jugés.
6 Elle envoya appeler Barak, fils d'Abinoam, de Kédesch Nephthali, et elle lui dit: N'est-ce pas l'ordre qu'a donné l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël? Va, dirige-toi sur le mont Thabor, et prends avec toi dix mille hommes des enfants de Nephthali et des enfants de Zabulon;
7 j'attirerai vers toi, au torrent de Kison, Sisera, chef de l'armée de Jabin, avec ses chars et ses troupes, et je le livrerai entre tes mains.
8 Barak lui dit: Si tu viens avec moi, j'irai; mais si tu ne viens pas avec moi, je n'irai pas.
9 Elle répondit: J'irai bien avec toi; mais tu n'auras point de gloire sur la voie où tu marches, car l'Éternel livrera Sisera entre les mains d'une femme. Et Débora se leva, et elle se rendit avec Barak à Kédesch.
10 Barak convoqua Zabulon et Nephthali à Kédesch; dix mille hommes marchèrent à sa suite, et Débora partit avec lui.
11 Héber, le Kénien, s'était séparé des Kéniens, des fils de Hobab, beau-père de Moïse, et il avait dressé sa tente jusqu'au chêne de Tsaannaïm, près de Kédesch.
12 On informa Sisera que Barak, fils d'Abinoam, s'était dirigé sur le mont Thabor.
13 Et, depuis Haroscheth Goïm, Sisera rassembla vers le torrent de Kison tous ses chars, neuf cents chars de fer, et tout le peuple qui était avec lui.
14 Alors Débora dit à Barak: Lève-toi, car voici le jour où l'Éternel livre Sisera entre tes mains. L'Éternel ne marche-t-il pas devant toi? Et Barak descendit du mont Thabor, ayant dix mille hommes à sa suite.
15 L'Éternel mit en déroute devant Barak, par le tranchant de l'épée, Sisera, tous ses chars et tout le camp. Sisera descendit de son char, et s'enfuit à pied.
16 Barak poursuivit les chars et l'armée jusqu'à Haroscheth Goïm; et toute l'armée de Sisera tomba sous le tranchant de l'épée, sans qu'il en restât un seul homme.
17 Sisera se réfugia à pied dans la tente de Jaël, femme de Héber, le Kénien; car il y avait paix entre Jabin, roi de Hatsor, et la maison de Héber, le Kénien.
18 Jaël sortit au-devant de Sisera, et lui dit: Entre, mon seigneur, entre chez moi, ne crains point. Il entra chez elle dans la tente, et elle le cacha sous une couverture.
19 Il lui dit: Donne-moi, je te prie, un peu d'eau à boire, car j'ai soif. Elle ouvrit l'outre du lait, lui donna à boire, et le couvrit.
20 Il lui dit encore: Tiens-toi à l'entrée de la tente, et si l'on vient t'interroger en disant: Y a-t-il ici quelqu'un? tu répondras: Non.
21 Jaël, femme de Héber, saisit un pieu de la tente, prit en main le marteau, s'approcha de lui doucement, et lui enfonça dans la tempe le pieu, qui pénétra en terre. Il était profondément endormi et accablé de fatigue; et il mourut.
22 Comme Barak poursuivait Sisera, Jaël sortit à sa rencontre et lui dit: Viens, et je te montrerai l'homme que tu cherches. Il entra chez elle, et voici, Sisera était étendu mort, le pieu dans la tempe.
23 En ce jour, Dieu humilia Jabin, roi de Canaan, devant les enfants d'Israël.
24 Et la main des enfants d'Israël s'appesantit de plus en plus sur Jabin, roi de Canaan, jusqu'à ce qu'ils eussent exterminé Jabin, roi de Canaan.

2 (A)И Господ ги предаде в ръцете на ханаанския цар Иавина, който царуваше в Асор; негов военачалник беше Сисара, който живееше в Харошет-Гоим.
3 (B)И викнаха Израилевите синове към Господа; защото Иавин имаше деветстотин железни колесници, и жестоко притесняваше Израилевите синове през двайсет години.
4 В това време съдия над Израиля беше пророчица Девора, жена Лапидотова;
5 тя живееше под Деворина Палма, между Рама и Ветил, в Ефремова планина; и отиваха при нея (там) Израилевите синове да се съдят.
6 (C)Девора прати та повика Авиноамовия син Варака, от Кедес Нефталимов, и му каза: Господ, Бог Израилев, (ти) заповядва: иди, възлез на планина Тавор и вземи със себе си десет хиляди души от Нефталимовите синове и от Завулоновите синове;
7 (D)Аз пък ще доведа при тебе, при поток Кисон, Иавиновия военачалник Сисара, и колесниците му и многолюдната му (войска), и ще го предам в твои ръце.
8 Варак ѝ каза: ако дойдеш с мене, ще отида; ако не дойдеш с мене, няма да отида; (защото не зная деня, в който Господ ще прати Ангела с мене).
9 Тя (му) отговори: добре, ще дойда с тебе; само (знай, че) твоя не ще бъде славата в пътя, по който ще вървиш; защото в женска ръка ще предаде Господ Сисара. И Девора стана и тръгна с Варака за Кедес.
10 (E)Варак свика Завулоновци и Нефталимовци в Кедес, и подире му потеглиха десет хиляди души, и Девора тръгна с него.
11 (F)Тогава кенеецът Евер се отдели от кенейците, синове на Ховава, Моисеев сродник, и разтегна шатрата си при дъбравата в Цааним, близо до Кедес.
12 И обадиха на Сисара, че Авиноамовият син Варак е възлязъл на планина Тавор.
13 Сисара събра всичките си колесници, деветстотин железни колесници, и всичкия народ, който беше с него, от Харошет-Гоим при поток Кисон.
14 (G)И Девора каза на Варака: стани, понеже днес е денят, в който Господ ще предаде Сисара в ръцете ти; Сам Господ ще тръгне пред тебе. И Варак слезе от планина Тавор, и подире му – десет хиляди души.
15 (H)Тогава Господ докара в смущение Сисара и всичките му колесници и цялото му опълчение пред Вараковия меч, и Сисара слезе от колесницата (си) и побягна пеша.
16 (I)Варак подгони колесниците (му) и опълчението до Харошет-Гоим, и цялото опълчение Сисарово падна от меч, та не остана ни един.
17 (J)А Сисара побягна пеша в шатрата на Иаил, жената на кенееца Хевера; защото между асорския цар Иавина и дома на кенееца Хевера имаше мир.
18 Тогава Иаил посрещна Сисара и му рече: влез, господарю мой, влез при мене, не бой се. Той влезе при нея в шатрата, и тя го зави с покривката (си).
19 (K)Сисара ѝ каза: дай ми малко вода да пия, жаден съм. Тя развърза мех с мляко, даде му да пие и пак го зави.
20 Сисара ѝ каза: стой при входа на шатрата, и ако някой дойде да те попита, и ти каже: „няма ли някого тука?“, ти кажи: „няма“.
21 (L)Иаил, Хеверова жена, взе един кол от шатрата, взе и чук в ръката си, и отиде при него полекичка, та заби кола в слепите му очи, тъй че влезе в земята; а той от умора спеше, – и издъхна.
22 И ето, Варак тичаше след Сисара. Иаил го посрещна и му каза: влез, аз ще ти покажа човека, когото търсиш. Той влезе при нея, и ето, Сисара лежи мъртъв, и колът в слепите му очи.
23 (M)Тъй усмири (Господ) Бог в оня ден ханаанския цар Иавина пред синовете Израилеви.
24 Ръката на синовете Израилеви се усилваше повече и повече над ханаанския цар Иавина, докле те най-сетне изтребиха ханаанския цар Иавина.

Deborah and Barak
4 The Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, after Ehud died.(A) 2 So the Lord sold them into the hand of King Jabin of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; the commander of his army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth-ha-goiim.(B) 3 Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord for help, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron and had oppressed the Israelites cruelly twenty years.(C)
4 At that time Deborah, a prophet, wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel. 5 She used to sit under the palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites came up to her for judgment. 6 She sent and summoned Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “The Lord, the God of Israel, commands you, ‘Position yourself at Mount Tabor, taking ten thousand from the tribe of Naphtali and the tribe of Zebulun.(D) 7 I will draw out Sisera, the general of Jabin’s army, to meet you by the Wadi Kishon with his chariots and his troops, and I will give him into your hand.’ ”(E) 8 Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, I will go, but if you will not go with me, I will not go.” 9 And she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless, the road on which you are going will not lead to your glory, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Then Deborah got up and went with Barak to Kedesh.(F) 10 Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh, and ten thousand warriors went up behind him, and Deborah went up with him.(G)
11 Now Heber the Kenite had separated from the other Kenites,[a] that is, the descendants of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had encamped as far away as Elon-bezaanannim, which is near Kedesh.(H)
12 When Sisera was told that Barak son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor, 13 Sisera called out all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the troops who were with him, from Harosheth-ha-goiim to the Wadi Kishon.(I) 14 Then Deborah said to Barak, “Up! For this is the day on which the Lord has given Sisera into your hand. Has not the Lord gone out before you?” So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand warriors following him.(J) 15 And the Lord threw Sisera and all his chariots and all his army into a panic[b] before Barak; Sisera got down from his chariot and fled away on foot,(K) 16 while Barak pursued the chariots and the army to Harosheth-ha-goiim. All the army of Sisera fell by the sword; not one was left.(L)
17 Now Sisera had fled away on foot to the tent of Jael wife of Heber the Kenite, for there was peace between King Jabin of Hazor and the clan of Heber the Kenite. 18 Jael came out to meet Sisera and said to him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me; have no fear.” So he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug. 19 Then he said to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty.” So she opened a skin of milk and gave him a drink and covered him.(M) 20 He said to her, “Stand at the entrance of the tent, and if anybody comes and asks you, ‘Is anyone here?’ say, ‘No.’ ” 21 But Jael wife of Heber took a tent peg and took a hammer in her hand and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, until it went down into the ground—he was lying fast asleep from weariness—and he died.(N) 22 Then, as Barak came in pursuit of Sisera, Jael went out to meet him and said to him, “Come, and I will show you the man whom you are seeking.” So he went into her tent, and there was Sisera lying dead, with the tent peg in his temple.
23 So on that day God subdued King Jabin of Canaan before the Israelites. 24 Then the hand of the Israelites bore harder and harder on King Jabin of Canaan, until they destroyed King Jabin of Canaan.
