^5 (A)Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, ^(B)to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

³⁷ And he said to him, ^(A)“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

⁶ but showing steadfast love to thousands^[a] of those who love me and keep my commandments.

²⁸ And we know that for those who love God all things work together ^(A)for good,^[a] for ^(B)those who are called according to his purpose.

²² For if ^(A)you will be careful to do all this commandment that I command you to do, loving the Lord your God, walking in all his ways, and ^(B)holding fast to him,

²⁶ saying, ^(A)“If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the ^(B)diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, ^(C)your healer.”

^12 (A)Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive ^(B)the crown of life, ^(C)which God has promised to those who love him.

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, ^(A)Satan! For ^(B)it is written,

Choose Whom You Will Serve

^14 (A)“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. ^(B)Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. ^15 (C)And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, ^(D)choose this day whom you will serve, whether ^(E)the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or ^(F)the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. ^(G)But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
