¹⁶ “For God so ^(A)loved the world, that He ^(B)gave His ^(C)only Son, so that everyone who ^(D)believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.

² and ^(A)the life was revealed, and we have ^(B)seen and ^(C)testify and proclaim to you ^(D)the eternal life, which was ^(E)with the Father and was ^(F)revealed to us—

¹¹ And the testimony is this, that God has given us ^(A)eternal life, and ^(B)this life is in His Son.

²⁰ And ^(A)we know that ^(B)the Son of God has come, and has ^(C)given us understanding so that we may know ^(D)Him who is true; and we ^(E)are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. ^(F)This is the true God and ^(G)eternal life.

⁴ Through ^[a]these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent ^(A)promises, so that by them you may become ^(B)partakers of the divine nature, having ^(C)escaped the ^(D)corruption that is in ^(E)the world on account of lust.

⁶ knowing this, that our ^(A)old ^[a]self was ^(B)crucified with Him, in order that our ^(C)body of sin might be ^[b]done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; ⁷ for ^(D)the one who has died is ^[c]freed from sin.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ ^(A)controls us, having concluded this, that ^(B)one died for all, therefore all died;

²⁰ I have been ^(A)crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but ^(B)Christ lives in me; and ^[a]the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in ^(C)the Son of God, who ^(D)loved me and ^(E)gave Himself up for me.

The Ascension

⁹ And after He had said these things, ^(A)He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight.
