39 And (A)we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. (B)They put him to death by hanging him on a tree,40 but (C)God raised him on (D)the third day and made him to (E)appear,41 (F)not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as (G)witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.42 And (H)he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify (I)that he is the one appointed by God to be judge (J)of the living and the dead.
1 (A)That which was (B)from the beginning, (C)which we have heard, (D)which we have seen with our eyes, (E)which we looked upon and (F)have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life—2 (G)the life (H)was made manifest, and we have seen it, and (I)testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, (J)which was with the Father and (K)was made manifest to us—
11 (A)The following night (B)the Lord stood by him and said, (C)“Take courage, for (D)as you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must (E)testify also in Rome.”
12 By (A)Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, (B)I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is (C)the true grace of God. (D)Stand firm in it.
5 So I exhort the elders among you, (A)as a fellow elder and (B)a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed:
8 But you will receive (A)power (B)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and (C)you will be (D)my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and (E)Samaria, and (F)to the end of the earth.”
2 (A)just as those who (B)from the beginning were (C)eyewitnesses and (D)ministers of (E)the word (F)have delivered them to us,3 it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write (G)an orderly account for you, (H)most excellent (I)Theophilus,
9 I, John, your brother and (A)partner in (B)the tribulation and (C)the kingdom and (D)the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos (E)on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
16 For we did not follow (A)cleverly devised (B)myths when we made known to you (C)the power and (D)coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but (E)we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.17 For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, (F)“This is my beloved Son,[a] with whom I am well pleased,”18 we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on (G)the holy mountain.
21 So one of the men who have accompanied us during (A)all the time that the Lord Jesus (B)went in and out among us,22 (C)beginning from the baptism of John until the day when (D)he was taken up from us—one of these men must become with us (E)a witness to his resurrection.”
