^5 (A)Thomas said to him, “Lord, ^(B)we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

^16 (A)So Thomas, called the Twin,^[a] said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, ^(B)that we may die with him.”

¹⁹ And he answered them, “O ^(A)faithless generation, ^(B)how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.”

²⁵ So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, ^(A)“Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”

²⁶ Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. ^(B)Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ^(C)“Peace be with you.” ²⁷ Then he said to Thomas, ^(D)“Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” ²⁸ Thomas answered him, ^(E)“My Lord and my God!”

^12 (A)“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
