¹³ And the ^(A)houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will be ^(B)defiled like the place Topheth because of all the ^(C)houses on whose rooftops they burned incense to ^(D)all the heavenly host and ^(E)poured out drink offerings to other gods.”’”

¹⁷ But rather we will certainly ^(A)carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths, ^[a]by burning incense to the ^(B)queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, just as ^(C)we ourselves, our fathers, our kings, and our princes did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had ^(D)plenty of ^[b]food and were well off and saw no evil. ¹⁸ But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have ^(E)lacked everything and have ^[c]met our end by the sword and by famine.” ¹⁹ “And,” said the women, “when we were ^(F)burning incense to the queen of heaven and ^[d]were pouring out drink offerings to her, was it ^(G)without our husbands that we made for her sacrificial cakes ^[e]in her image and poured out drink offerings to her?”

²⁵ thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, saying: ‘As for you and your wives, you have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled it with your hands, saying, “We will ^(A)certainly perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her.” ^[a](B)Go ahead and establish your vows, and certainly perform your vows!’

¹³ And he ^(A)burned the house of Yahweh, the ^(B)king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; even every large house he burned with fire.
