God Controls the Future
48 The Lord says, “·Family [L House] of Jacob, listen to me.
You are called [L by the name of] Israel,
and you come from the ·family [L waters; wellsprings] of Judah.
You ·swear [take oaths] by the Lord’s name
and ·praise [confess; call on] the God of Israel,
but ·you are not honest or sincere [L not in truth or in righteousness].
2 You call yourselves ·people of [or by the name of; L from] the holy city,
and you ·depend on [trust in] the God of Israel,
who is named the Lord ·All-Powerful [Almighty; of Heaven’s Armies; T of hosts].
3 Long ago I told you ·what would happen [L the former things].
·I said these things and [L They went out from my mouth and I] made them known;
suddenly I acted, and these things happened.
4 I knew you were stubborn;
your neck was like an iron muscle,
and your ·head [forehead; brow] was like bronze.
5 So a long time ago I told you about these things;
I told you about them before they happened
so you couldn’t say, ‘My idols did this,
and my ·wooden [carved images] and metal statues ·made these things happen [decreed/ordained/commanded them].’
6 “You heard and saw everything that happened,
·so you should [L will you not…?] tell this news to others.
·Now [From this time on] I will tell you about new things,
hidden things that you don’t know yet.
7 ·These things are happening [L They are created] now, not long ago;
you have not heard about them before today.
So you cannot say, ‘[L Look; or Yes; T Behold] We already knew about that.’
8 But you have not heard; you have not understood.
Even long ago ·you did not listen [L your ear has not been opened].
I knew you would surely ·turn [act treacherously] against me;
you ·have fought against me [L were called a rebel] ·since you were born [L from the womb].
9 But for my ·own [L name’s] sake I will ·be patient [L hold back my anger].
·People will praise me because [L For the sake of my praise] I did not become angry
and ·destroy you [cut you off].
10 I have ·made you pure [refined you], but not by fire, as silver is made pure.
I have purified you ·by giving you troubles [L in the furnace of affliction/suffering].
11 I do this for myself, for my own sake.
·I will not [L How could I…?] let ·people speak evil against me [L my name be defiled/profaned],
and I will not ·let some god take my glory [L give/share my glory with another].
Israel Will Be Free
12 “·People of Jacob [L Jacob], listen to me.
·People of Israel [L Israel], ·I have called you to be my people [L whom I called].
I am ·God [L he; the one];
I am the ·beginning and the end [L first and I am the last; 41:4; 44:5].
13 I ·made [L laid the foundation of] the earth with my own hands.
With my right hand I spread out the skies.
When I call them,
they ·come [stand] together before me.”
14 All of you, come together and listen.
·None of the gods [L Who among them…?] said these things would happen.
The Lord ·has chosen someone [has an ally; or loves him; C a reference to Cyrus, king of Persia; see 41:2; 44:28–45:6; 46:11; 48:14–16]
to carry out his ·wishes [desire; purpose] against Babylon,
·to attack [L his arm will be against] the Babylonians;
15 “I have spoken; I have called him.
I have brought him, and I will make him successful.
16 Come to me and listen to this.
From the ·beginning [first] I have ·spoken openly [L not spoken in secret].
From the time it ·began [happened], I was there.”
Now, the Lord God
·has sent me with his Spirit [or and his Spirit have sent me; C Cyrus is probably speaking here; vv. 14–15].
17 This is what the Lord, ·who saves you [your Redeemer],
the Holy One of Israel [1:4], says:
“I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you ·to do what is good [what is best; or how to succeed],
who leads you in the way you should go.
18 If you had obeyed my commands,
you would have had peace like a river [C abundant and overflowing; 66:12].
·Good things [Your righteousness] would have flowed to you like the waves of the sea.
19 ·Your ·children [descendants] would have been ·as numerous as [L like] ·sand in the sea [L sand]
and your ·descendants [offspring/seed of your body] like grains of sand [10:22; Gen. 15:5; 22:17; Hos. 1:10].
·They [L Their name] would never have ·died out [been cut off]
nor been destroyed.”
20 ·My people, leave [L Go out from] Babylon!
Run from the ·Babylonians [L Chaldeans]!
Tell this news with shouts of joy to the people;
spread it ·everywhere on [L to the end of] earth.
Say, “The Lord has ·saved [redeemed] his ·servants, the people of Jacob [L servant Jacob].”
21 They did not become thirsty when he led them through the deserts.
He made water flow from a rock for them.
He split the rock,
and water flowed out [43:19; Ex. 17:6; Num. 20:11].
22 “There is no peace for ·evil people [the wicked],” says the Lord.

Dios había dicho todo
48 »Escucha lo que te voy a decir, familia de Jacob,
a quien se le llama por el nombre de Israel.
Tú desciendes de Judá,
juras usando el nombre del SEÑOR,
adoras al Dios de Israel,
pero no honestamente ni con sinceridad.
2 Se llaman ustedes mismos habitantes de la ciudad santa[a],
y se apoyan en el Dios de Israel,
de nombre el SEÑOR Todopoderoso.
3 »Yo les anuncié con anterioridad lo que sucedería.
Les dije todo eso y se lo hice saber.
Actué de repente y todo eso sucedió.
4 Pues yo sé que eres terco
y cabeza dura como el hierro;
tu frente dura como el bronce.
5 Hace mucho tiempo te avisé de todo eso.
Te lo dije antes de que sucediera.
Por eso no puedes decir: “Mi ídolo hizo todo eso;
mis imágenes de metal y de madera hicieron que todo eso sucediera”.
6 Tú has escuchado todo esto,
fíjate en ello, ¿no te lo dije?
Ahora te voy a decir algo nuevo,
algo oculto que tú no conoces.
7 Algo que ha sido creado ahora,
no en la antigüedad.
Tú no habías escuchado eso hasta hoy,
así que no podrás decir: “Sí, ya lo sabía”.
8 Ni lo habías oído ni lo sabías.
Tus oídos hace tiempo que están sordos.
Pues yo sé lo infiel que eres
y lo rebelde que eres de nacimiento.
9 Por amor propio no he dejado explotar mi ira.
Por mi honor he tenido paciencia
y no te he destruido.
10 Te he sometido a prueba,
pero no como se prueba la plata,
sino en el horno de sufrimiento.
11 Por respeto a mí, a mí mismo, lo he hecho.
Pues, ¿por qué ha de ser difamado mi nombre?
No voy a ceder mi honor a otro.
Salvación de Israel
12 »Escúchame, pueblo de Jacob,
Israel, a quien estoy llamando:
Yo soy Dios, el primero y el último.
13 Mi mano echó los cimientos de la tierra;
mi mano extendió los cielos.
Cuando yo pronuncio el nombre de ellos,
se ponen de pie al instante.
14 Vengan todos y escúchenme.
¿Acaso alguno de ustedes anunció lo que iba a pasar?
Ciro, el elegido del SEÑOR, cumplirá el plan del Señor:
Atacará a Babilonia y a los caldeos.
15 Yo mismo lo he dicho,
lo he llamado[b] y lo he traído.
Su misión se llevará a feliz término.
16 Vengan a mí, oigan esto:
Yo no he hablado en secreto.
Cuando todo esto sucedía, yo estaba ahí.
El Señor DIOS me envía ahora con su Espíritu».
17 El SEÑOR, tu Salvador,
el Santo Dios de Israel, dice esto:
«Yo soy el SEÑOR tu Dios,
quien te enseña el bien
y te lleva por el camino que debes andar.
18 Si tan solo hubieras hecho caso de mis mandamientos,
tu prosperidad habría fluido como un río
y tu salvación como las olas del mar.
19 Tus descendientes habrían sido tan numerosos como la arena,
como los granos de arena.
No habrían sido destruidos
ni aniquilados delante de mí».
20 ¡Salgan de Babilonia!
¡Huyan de Caldea[c]!
Proclámenlo con gritos de alegría,
díganlo, divúlguenlo hasta lo más remoto de la tierra.
Digan: «El SEÑOR ha salvado a su siervo Jacob».
21 Ellos no sufrieron de sed
cuando él los llevó por desiertos.
Él hizo que el agua fluyera para ellos de una roca.
Partió la roca y el agua brotó.
22 El SEÑOR dice:
«No hay paz para los malos».

48 (A)Слушайте това, доме Иаковов, вие, които се наричате с името на Израиля и които сте произлезли от източника Иудин, които се кълнете в име Господне и изповядвате Бога Израилев, ако и не по истина и не по правда.
2 (B)Защото те се наричат произлизащи от светия град и се осланят на Бога Израилев; Господ Саваот е името Му.
3 Предишното Аз отрано обаждах; из устата Ми излизаше то, и Аз го възвестявах и внезапно вършех, – и всичко се сбъдваше.
4 (C)Аз знаех, че ти си упорит и че в твоята шия има железни жили, и лобът ти е меден;
5 затова ти и обаждах отрано, преди това да се е случило, и предвестявах ти, за да не кажеш: „моят идол направи това, и моят истукан и моят излян образ заповяда това да стане“.
6 Ти си слушал – погледни всичко това! И нима не ще признаете това? А сега ти възвестявам нещо ново и съкровено, което ти не си знаел.
7 То се извърши сега, а не отдавна и не преди ден, и ти не си слушал за него, за да не кажеш: „ето! аз знаех това“.
8 (D)Ти не си и слушал, нито си знаел за това, и ухото ти по-напред не беше отворено; защото Аз знаех, че ти ще постъпиш вероломно, и от самата майчина утроба си наречен отстъпник.
9 (E)Заради името Си отлагах Своя гняв и заради славата Си се сдържах да те не изтребя.
10 (F)Ето, разтопих те, но не като сребро; изпитах те в горнилото на страданията.
11 (G)Заради Себе Си, заради Самаго Себе Си върша това, – защото, какво похулване би било за името Ми! Славата Си не ще дам другиму.
12 (H)Чуй Ме, Иакове и Израилю, повикан от Мене: Аз съм същият, Аз съм първият и Аз – последният.
13 (I)Моята ръка основа земята, и Моята десница разпростря небесата; ще ги призова, – и те ще застанат наедно.
14 Съберете се всички и слушайте: кой измежду тях е предсказал това? Господ го възлюби, и той ще изпълни волята Му над Вавилон и ще яви мишцата Му над халдейци.
15 Аз, Аз казах, и го повиках; Аз го доведох, и пътят му ще бъде благополучен.
16 (J)Пристъпете към Мене, слушайте това: Аз и отначало съм говорил не тайно; от онова време, откак това става, Аз бях там; и сега Ме проводи Господ Бог и Неговият Дух.
17 (K)Тъй казва Господ, твоят Изкупител, Светият Израилев: Аз съм Господ, Бог твой, Който те учи на полезно, Който те води по оня път, по който трябва да ходиш.
18 (L)О, ако да беше се вслушвал в Моите заповеди! Тогава твоят мир щеше да бъде като река, и твоята правда – като морски вълни.
19 И твоето семе щеше да бъде като пясъка, и ония, които произлизат от бедрата ти, – като песъчинките: не щеше да се изглади, не щеше да се изтреби името му пред Мене.
20 (M)Излизайте от Вавилон, бягайте от халдейци, с радостен глас разгласяйте и проповядвайте това, разпространявайте тая вест до край-земя; казвайте: „Господ изкупи Своя раб Иакова“.
21 (N)И не жадуват те в пустините, през които ги води: Той им изтача вода от камък; разсича скала, – и леят се води.
22 (O)А за нечестивците няма мира, казва Господ.
