25 (A)Господи! Ти си Бог мой; ще Те възвелича, ще възхваля името Ти, защото си извършил дивни дела; древните предопределения са истинни, амин.
2 (B)Ти превърна града в грамада камъни, твърдата крепост – в развалини; няма вече в града чертози на другоплеменници; вовеки няма да бъде възстановен.
3 (C)Затова ще Те прославят силните народи; градовете на страшните племена ще Ти се боят;
4 (D)защото Ти беше прибежище на сиромаха, прибежище на немотния в усилно за него време, защита от буря, сянка от пек; защото гневното дихание на насилниците приличаше на буря срещу стена.
5 (E)Ти укроти буйството на враговете, както пек – в безводно място; веселбата на притеснителите е задушена, както пекът от облачна сянка.
6 (F)И Господ Саваот ще сложи върху тая планина за всички народи трапеза с тлъсти ястия, трапеза с чисти вина, с тлъстина от кости и най-чисти вина;
7 и върху тая планина ще унищожи покривалото, що покрива всички народи, покривалото, що лежи върху всички племена.
8 (G)Смъртта ще бъде погълната навеки, и ще отрие Господ Бог сълзите от всички лица, и ще снеме срама от Своя народ по цяла земя; защото тъй казва Господ.
9 (H)И ще кажат в оня ден: ето, Този е нашият Бог! Нему се уповавахме, и Той ни спаси! Този е Господ; Нему се уповавахме; да се възрадваме и развеселим за спасението от Него!
10 (I)Защото ръката на Господа ще почива върху тая планина, и Моав ще бъде стъпкан на мястото си, както се тъпче слама на бунище.
11 И макар и да простре сред него ръцете си, както плаващ ги простира да плава, но Бог ще унизи гордостта му, заедно с лукавството на ръцете му.
12 И ще събори, ще свали крепостта с твоите високи стени, ще повали наземи, в прах.

Dankgebet für Gottes Hilfe
25 Herr, du bist mein Gott! Ich lobe dich und preise deinen Namen, denn du vollbringst wunderbare Taten. Was du vor langer Zeit beschlossen hast, das hast du in großer Treue ausgeführt.
2 Die mächtige Stadt – in einen Schutthaufen hast du sie verwandelt! Ihre unbezwingbaren Mauern hast du in Trümmer gelegt und die Paläste der fremden Herrscher zerstört. Die Stadt ist dem Erdboden gleichgemacht, und sie wird nie wieder aufgebaut.
3 Darum ehren dich nun mächtige Völker; in den Städten der Welteroberer wirst du gefürchtet.
4 Die Armen und Schwachen finden Zuflucht bei dir; dort sind sie sicher in Zeiten der Not. Du gibst ihnen Schutz wie ein Dach im Wolkenbruch, wie kühler Schatten in der Mittagshitze. Das Wüten der Gewalttäter gleicht dem Gewitterregen, der an die Mauern prasselt, 5 es ist so unbarmherzig wie die Sonne, die in der Wüste vom Himmel brennt. Doch du bringst ihren Lärm zum Schweigen. Du dämpfst ihr Siegesgeschrei wie eine Wolke die Sonnenhitze.
Ein Festmahl für alle Völker
6 Hier auf dem Berg Zion wird der Herr, der allmächtige Gott, alle Völker zu einem Festmahl mit köstlichen Speisen und herrlichem Wein einladen, einem Festmahl mit bestem Fleisch und gut gelagertem Wein.
7 Dann zerreißt er den Trauerschleier, der über allen Menschen liegt, und zieht das Leichentuch weg, das alle Völker bedeckt. Hier auf diesem Berg wird es geschehen! 8 Er wird den Tod für immer und ewig vernichten. Gott, der Herr, wird die Tränen von jedem Gesicht abwischen. Er befreit sein Volk von der Schande, die es auf der ganzen Erde erlitten hat. Das alles trifft ein, denn der Herr hat es vorausgesagt. 9 In jenen Tagen wird man bekennen: »Er allein ist unser Gott! Auf ihn haben wir unsere Hoffnung gesetzt, und er hat uns gerettet. Ja, so ist der Herr, unsere Hoffnung war nicht vergebens! Nun wollen wir Danklieder singen und uns über seine Rettung freuen!«
Der Herr reißt Moabs Festungen nieder
10 Der Herr hält seine Hand schützend über Jerusalem. Das Land Moab dagegen wird zertreten wie Stroh in der Jauche[a]. 11 Verzweifelt schlägt Moab um sich wie ein Ertrinkender. Doch alle Schwimmversuche nützen nichts mehr: Gott zerbricht seinen Stolz und seinen Hochmut. 12 Alle eure hohen und starken Befestigungen, ihr Moabiter, wird er niederreißen und dem Erdboden gleichmachen!

Praise to the Lord
25 Lord, you are my God;(A)
I will exalt you and praise your name,(B)
for in perfect faithfulness(C)
you have done wonderful things,(D)
things planned(E) long ago.
2 You have made the city a heap of rubble,(F)
the fortified(G) town a ruin,(H)
the foreigners’ stronghold(I) a city no more;
it will never be rebuilt.(J)
3 Therefore strong peoples will honor you;(K)
cities of ruthless(L) nations will revere you.
4 You have been a refuge(M) for the poor,(N)
a refuge for the needy(O) in their distress,
a shelter from the storm(P)
and a shade from the heat.
For the breath of the ruthless(Q)
is like a storm driving against a wall
5 and like the heat of the desert.
You silence(R) the uproar of foreigners;(S)
as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud,
so the song of the ruthless(T) is stilled.
6 On this mountain(U) the Lord Almighty will prepare
a feast(V) of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
the best of meats and the finest of wines.(W)
7 On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud(X) that enfolds all peoples,(Y)
the sheet that covers all nations;
8 he will swallow up death(Z) forever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears(AA)
from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace(AB)
from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken.(AC)
9 In that day(AD) they will say,
“Surely this is our God;(AE)
we trusted(AF) in him, and he saved(AG) us.
This is the Lord, we trusted in him;
let us rejoice(AH) and be glad in his salvation.”(AI)
10 The hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain;(AJ)
but Moab(AK) will be trampled in their land
as straw is trampled down in the manure.
11 They will stretch out their hands in it,
as swimmers stretch out their hands to swim.
God will bring down(AL) their pride(AM)
despite the cleverness[a] of their hands.
12 He will bring down your high fortified walls(AN)
and lay them low;(AO)
he will bring them down to the ground,
to the very dust.
