He said, “Go, and tell this people:

‘Keep on (A)hearing, but do not understand;
Keep on seeing, but do not know.’
10 (B)Render the hearts of this people [a](C)insensitive,
Their ears [b]dull,
And their eyes [c]dim,
(D)Lest they see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their hearts,
And return and be healed.”

11 Then I said, “Lord, (E)how long?” And He said,

“Until (F)cities are devastated and without inhabitant,
Houses are without people,
And the land is devastated to desolation,
12 And Yahweh has (G)removed men far away,
And the [d](H)forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.
13 Yet there will be a tenth portion in it,
And it will again be subject to burning,
Like a terebinth or like an (I)oak
Whose stump remains when it is felled.
The (J)holy seed is its stump.”
