⁵ My heart cries out for Moab;
Those who flee from her are as far as ^(A)Zoar and Eglath-shelishiyah,
For they go up the ^(B)ascent of Luhith weeping;
Surely on the road to Horonaim they keep awake with crying in distress ^(C)over their destruction.

³ For this reason my ^(A)loins are full of anguish;
Pains have seized me like the pains of a ^(B)woman in labor.
I am so bewildered I cannot hear, so terrified I cannot see.

⁴ Therefore I say, “Turn your gaze away from me,
Let me ^(A)weep bitterly,
Do not insist on comforting me concerning the destruction of the daughter of my people.”

⁹ But if I say, “I will not ^(A)remember Him
Or speak anymore in His name,”
Then in ^(B)my heart it becomes like a burning fire
Shut up in my bones;
And I am weary of holding it in,
And ^(C)I cannot prevail.
