^10 (A)I will bring them home from the land of Egypt,
    and gather them from Assyria,
and ^(B)I will bring them to the land of Gilead and to Lebanon,
    ^(C)till there is no room for them.

54 ^(A)“Sing, O barren one, who did not bear;
    break forth into singing and cry aloud,
    you who have not been in labor!
For the children of ^(B)the desolate one ^(C)will be more
    than the children of her who is married,” says the Lord.
^2 (D)“Enlarge the place of your tent,
    and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out;
do not hold back; lengthen your cords
    and strengthen your stakes.

³ For the Lord ^(A)comforts Zion;
    he comforts all her waste places
and makes her wilderness like ^(B)Eden,
    her desert like ^(C)the garden of the Lord;
^(D)joy and gladness will be found in her,
    thanksgiving and the voice of song.

²⁵ For thus says the Lord:
^(A)“Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken,
    and the prey of the tyrant be rescued,
for I will contend with those who contend with you,
    and I will save your children.
^26 (B)I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh,
    and they shall be drunk ^(C)with their own blood as with wine.
Then all flesh shall know
    that ^(D)I am the Lord your Savior,
    and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

56 ^(C)Be gracious to me, O God, for man ^(D)tramples on me;
    all day long an attacker oppresses me;
² my enemies trample on me all day long,
    for many attack me proudly.
