²⁵ Far be it from You to do ^[a]such a thing, to put to death the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not ^(A)the Judge of all the earth do justice?”

⁹ Be glad, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be merry during the days of young manhood. And walk in the ways of your heart and in the ^(A)sights of your eyes. Yet know that ^(B)God will bring you to judgment for all these things.

²⁷ For the ^(A)Son of Man ^(B)is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and ^(C)will then ^[a]repay each one according to his ^[b]deeds.

^6 (A)who will repay to each according to his works: ⁷ to those who by ^(B)perseverance in doing good seek for ^(C)glory and honor and ^(D)immortality, ^(E)eternal life; ⁸ but to those who are ^(F)selfishly ambitious and ^(G)do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and anger. ⁹ There will be ^(H)affliction and turmoil ^[a]for every soul of man who works out evil, of the Jew ^(I)first and also of the Greek, ¹⁰ but ^(J)glory and honor and peace to everyone who works good, to the Jew ^(K)first and also to the Greek.

^6 [a]Since ^(A)it is right ^[b]for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, ⁷ and to give rest to you who are afflicted ^[c]and to us as well ^(B)at the revelation of the Lord Jesus ^(C)from heaven ^(D)with ^[d]His mighty angels ^(E)in flaming fire, ⁸ executing vengeance on those who ^(F)do not know God and to those who ^(G)do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. ⁹ These will pay the penalty of ^(H)eternal destruction, ^(I)away from the presence of the ^[e]Lord and from the glory of His might,
