⁴ He answered, ^(A)“Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female,

¹⁰ For ^(A)we are his workmanship, ^(B)created in Christ Jesus ^(C)for good works, ^(D)which God prepared beforehand, ^(E)that we should walk in them.

Adam's Descendants to Noah

5 This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, ^(A)he made him in the likeness of God. ² Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man^[a] when they were created.

⁶ But ^(A)from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them ^(B)male and female.’

²¹ So the Lord God caused a ^(A)deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. ²² And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made^[a] into a woman and brought her to the man. ²³ Then the man said,

^24 (D)Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. ²⁵ And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

²⁴ and to put on ^(A)the new self, ^(B)created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
