3 ^(A)И каза ми: „сине човешки! Изяж, което е пред тебе, изяж тоя свитък, па иди говори на дома Израилев“.

²Тогава отворих устата си, и Той ми даде да изям тоя свитък;

³^(B)и каза ми: „сине човешки! нахрани стомаха си и напълни утробата си с тоя свитък, който Аз ти давам“, – и аз го изядох, и в устата ми стана сладко като мед.

⁴И Той ми каза: „сине човешки! стани, та иди у дома Израилев, и говори им с Моите думи;

⁵^(C)защото се пращаш не у народ с неразбрана реч и непонятен език, но у дома Израилев,

⁶не у много народи с неразбрана реч и непонятен език, чиито думи не би разбрал; пък да бях те пратил и при тях, те биха те послушали;

⁷^(D)а домът Израилев не ще иска да те слуша, защото те не искат да Ме слушат, понеже целият дом Израилев е с твърд лоб и с жестоко сърце.

⁸^(E)Ето, Аз направих и твоето лице твърдо наспроти техните лица, и твоето чело твърдо наспроти техния лоб.

⁹^(F)Като диамант, който е по-твърд от камък, направих челото ти; не бой се от тях и не се страхувай пред тяхното лице, защото те са дом размирен“.

¹⁰И каза ми: „сине човешки! всички Мои думи, които ще ти говоря, приеми със сърцето си и изслушай с ушите си;

¹¹^(G)стани, та иди при преселниците, при синовете на твоя народ, говори им и кажи им: тъй казва Господ Бог! па слушат ли те, или не“.

¹²^(H)И подигна ме духът; и чух зад мене си голям гръмовен глас: „благословена славата на Господа от мястото си!“

¹³и също шум от крилата на животните, които се допираха едно до друго, и шум от колелата до тях и звук от силен гръм.

¹⁴И духът ме подигна и ме взе. И вървях огорчен, с развълнуван дух; и ръката Господня беше крепко върху мене.

¹⁵И дойдох при преселниците в Тел Авив, които живееха при река Ховар, и спрях се там, дето те живееха, и прекарах у тях седем дена в почуда.

¹⁶А като се изминаха седем дена, биде към мене слово Господне:

¹⁷^(I)„сине човешки! Аз те поставих страж над дома Израилев, и ти ще слушаш слово из Моите уста и ще ги вразумяваш от Мене.

¹⁸^(J)Кога кажа на беззаконника: „бездруго ще умреш!“ а ти го не вразумяваш и не говориш, за да предпазиш беззаконника от беззаконния му път, та да бъде жив, – тоя беззаконник ще умре в беззаконието си, но кръвта му Аз ще подиря от твоите ръце.

¹⁹^(K)Но ако ти си вразумявал беззаконника, а той не се е отвърнал от беззаконието си и от беззаконния си път, той ще умре в беззаконието си, а ти ще спасиш душата си.

²⁰^(L)И ако праведник отстъпи от правдата си и постъпи беззаконно, когато Аз туря отпреде му препънка, и умре, то, ако не си го вразумявал, той ще умре поради греха си, и не ще му се припомнят праведните му дела, що е вършил; но кръвта му Аз ще подиря от твоите ръце.

²¹Ако пък ти вразумяваш праведника, за да не съгреши тоя праведник, и той не съгреши, то и той ще бъде жив, защото е бил разумен, и ти си спасил душата си“.

²²И биде върху мене там ръката на Господа, и Той ми каза: стани, та излез на полето, и Аз ще говоря там с тебе.

²³^(M)И станах, та излязох на полето; и ето, там беше славата Господня, като славата, която видях при река Ховар; и паднах ничком.

²⁴^(N)И влезе в мене духът и изправи ме на нозете ми, и Той говори с мене и ми каза: иди и затвори се в дома си.

²⁵^(O)И ти, сине човешки, – ето, ще ти турят окови, и ще те свържат с тях, и не ще се движиш сред тях.

²⁶^(P)И Аз ще прилепя езика ти о небцето ти, и ще онемееш и не ще им бъдеш изобличител, защото те са дом размирен.

²⁷^(Q)И когато ще говоря Аз с тебе, тогава ще отворя устата ти, и ти ще им говориш: „тъй казва Господ Бог!“ Който иска да слуша, – нека слуша; а който не иска да слуша, – да не слуша: защото те са дом размирен.

The Responsibility of the Prophet

3 Moreover He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; ^(A)eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” ²So I opened my mouth, and He caused me to eat that scroll.

³And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ^(B)ate, and it was in my mouth ^(C)like honey in sweetness.

⁴Then He said to me: “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them. ⁵For you are not sent to a people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, but to the house of Israel, ⁶not to many people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely, ^(D)had I sent you to them, they would have listened to you. ⁷But the house of Israel will not listen to you, ^(E)because they will not listen to Me; ^(F)for all the house of Israel are ^[a]impudent and hard-hearted. ⁸Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads. ⁹^(G)Like adamant stone, harder than flint, I have made your forehead; ^(H)do not be afraid of them, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”

¹⁰Moreover He said to me: “Son of man, receive into your heart all My words that I speak to you, and hear with your ears. ¹¹And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, ^(I)‘Thus says the Lord God,’ whether they hear, or whether they refuse.”

¹²Then ^(J)the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a great thunderous voice: “Blessed is the ^(K)glory of the Lord from His place!” ¹³I also heard the ^(L)noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, and a great thunderous noise. ¹⁴So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the ^[b]heat of my spirit; but ^(M)the hand of the Lord was strong upon me. ¹⁵Then I came to the captives at Tel Abib, who dwelt by the River Chebar; and ^(N)I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

Ezekiel Is a Watchman

¹⁶Now it ^(O)came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ¹⁷^(P)“Son of man, I have made you ^(Q)a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them ^(R)warning from Me: ¹⁸When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man ^(S)shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. ¹⁹Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; ^(T)but you have delivered your soul.

²⁰“Again, when a ^(U)righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. ²¹Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; also you will have delivered your soul.”

²²^(V)Then the hand of the Lord was upon me there, and He said to me, “Arise, go out ^(W)into the plain, and there I shall talk with you.”

²³So I arose and went out into the plain, and behold, ^(X)the glory of the Lord stood there, like the glory which I ^(Y)saw by the River Chebar; ^(Z)and I fell on my face. ²⁴Then ^(AA)the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and spoke with me and said to me: “Go, shut yourself inside your house. ²⁵And you, O son of man, surely ^(AB)they will put ropes on you and bind you with them, so that you cannot go out among them. ²⁶^(AC)I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth, so that you shall be mute and ^(AD)not be ^[c]one to rebuke them, ^(AE)for they are a rebellious house. ²⁷^(AF)But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you shall say to them, ^(AG)‘Thus says the Lord God.’ He who hears, let him hear; and he who refuses, let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

3 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.

²So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

³And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

⁴¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

⁵For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;

⁶Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.

⁷But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.

⁸Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.

⁹As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

¹⁰Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

¹¹And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.

¹²Then the Spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the Lord from his place.

¹³I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.

¹⁴So the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

¹⁵¶ Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

¹⁶And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

¹⁷Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

¹⁸When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

¹⁹Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

²⁰Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

²¹Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

²²¶ And the hand of the Lord was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.

²³Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the Lord stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.

²⁴Then the Spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.

²⁵But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:

²⁶And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.

²⁷But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.

3 Ngài phán cùng tôi: “Hỡi con người, hãy ăn cái gì ngươi thấy, hãy ăn cuộn sách này và đi nói cho nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên.” ²Tôi mở miệng và ăn cuộn sách ấy.

³Ngài phán cùng tôi: “Hỡi con người, hãy ăn cuộn sách này vào bụng, hãy làm cho đầy ruột gan cuộn sách mà Ta ban cho ngươi.” Tôi ăn cuộn sách và nó ngọt như mật trong miệng tôi.

⁴Ngài phán cùng tôi: “Hỡi con người, hãy đi đến nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên và phán cùng chúng các lời của Ta. ⁵Vì ngươi không phải được sai đến cùng một dân tộc ngoại quốc, nói tiếng khó hiểu nhưng đến cùng nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên. ⁶Ngươi không phải được sai đến cùng các dân tộc ngoại quốc, nói tiếng khó hiểu và lời nói của họ ngươi không hiểu được. Nếu Ta sai ngươi đến với chúng nó ắt chúng nó đã nghe ngươi. ⁷Nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên sẽ không nghe ngươi vì chúng nó không muốn nghe Ta. Đừng sợ chúng nó, chớ kinh hoảng vì bộ mặt chúng nó, vì chúng là nhà phản nghịch.”

¹⁰Ngài phán cùng tôi: “Hỡi con người, hãy nhận vào lòng và lấy tai nghe tất cả những lời Ta phán cùng ngươi. ¹¹Hãy đi đến cùng những người bị lưu đày, đến cùng dân ngươi, hãy phán cùng chúng nó, nói với chúng rằng: CHÚA phán như vầy, dù chúng chịu nghe hay không chịu nghe.”

¹²Bấy giờ thần cất tôi lên, tôi nghe phía sau tôi có tiếng động lớn ầm ầm rằng: Đáng chúc tụng sự vinh quang của CHÚA ở nơi Ngài. ¹³Tôi nghe tiếng động lớn ầm ầm, tiếng vỗ cánh của con sinh vật chạm vào nhau và tiếng bánh xe bên hông chúng. ¹⁴Thần cất tôi lên, đem tôi đi; tôi đi trong lòng cay đắng, tức giận. Tay của CHÚA đặt mạnh trên tôi. ¹⁵Tôi đến cùng những người bị lưu đày ở Tên-a-víp, bên bờ kinh Kê-ba là nơi họ định cư; tôi ngồi đó choáng váng đến bảy ngày ở giữa họ.

¹⁶Cuối bảy ngày, có lời của CHÚA phán cùng tôi: ¹⁷“Hỡi con người, Ta đặt ngươi làm người canh giữ nhà Y-sơ-ra-ên. Khi nào ngươi nghe lời Ta phán, hãy cảnh cáo chúng nó cho Ta. ¹⁸Khi Ta phán với kẻ ác rằng: Ngươi chắc sẽ chết nhưng ngươi không cảnh cáo nó, không nói lời cảnh cáo kẻ ác để nó tránh con đường ác hầu được sống. Kẻ ác đó sẽ chết vì tội lỗi nó nhưng Ta sẽ đòi máu nó nơi tay ngươi. ¹⁹Nhưng nếu ngươi cảnh cáo kẻ ác mà nó không từ bỏ điều ác cùng đường dữ, nó sẽ chết vì tội lỗi nó, nhưng ngươi được thoát mạng.

²⁰Khi một người công chính từ bỏ công chính và phạm tội; Ta sẽ đặt chướng ngại trước mặt nó và người ấy sẽ chết vì tội lỗi. Nhưng ngươi không cảnh cáo nó; việc công chính người ấy đã làm sẽ không còn được nhớ đến, nhưng Ta sẽ đòi máu nó nơi tay ngươi. ²¹Nếu ngươi cảnh cáo người công chính đừng phạm tội; người ấy không phạm tội nên sẽ sống vì đã nghe lời cảnh cáo, còn ngươi được thoát mạng.” ²²Tay CHÚA đặt trên tôi và Ngài phán với tôi: “Hãy đứng dậy, đi ra ngoài cánh đồng và tại đó Ta sẽ phán với ngươi.” ²³Tôi đứng dậy và đi ra ngoài cánh đồng. New International Version

3 And he said to me, “Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.” ²So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.

³Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate^(A) it, and it tasted as sweet as honey^(B) in my mouth.

⁴He then said to me: “Son of man, go now to the people of Israel and speak my words to them.^(C) ⁵You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and strange language,^(D) but to the people of Israel— ⁶not to many peoples of obscure speech and strange language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you.^(E) ⁷But the people of Israel are not willing to listen^(F) to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for all the Israelites are hardened and obstinate.^(G) ⁸But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are.^(H) ⁹I will make your forehead^(I) like the hardest stone, harder than flint.^(J) Do not be afraid of them or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people.^(K)”

¹⁰And he said to me, “Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart^(L) all the words I speak to you. ¹¹Go^(M) now to your people in exile and speak to them. Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says,’^(N) whether they listen or fail to listen.^(O)”

¹²Then the Spirit lifted me up,^(P) and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound as the glory of the Lord rose from the place where it was standing.^[a] ¹³It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures^(Q) brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound.^(R) ¹⁴The Spirit^(S) then lifted me up^(T) and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the Lord^(U) on me. ¹⁵I came to the exiles who lived at Tel Aviv near the Kebar River.^(V) And there, where they were living, I sat among them for seven days^(W)—deeply distressed.

Ezekiel’s Task as Watchman

¹⁶At the end of seven days the word of the Lord came to me:^(X) ¹⁷“Son of man, I have made you a watchman^(Y) for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.^(Z) ¹⁸When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,^(AA)’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for^[b] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.^(AB) ¹⁹But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn^(AC) from their wickedness^(AD) or from their evil ways, they will die^(AE) for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.^(AF)

²⁰“Again, when a righteous person turns^(AG) from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block^(AH) before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.^(AI) ²¹But if you do warn the righteous person not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself.^(AJ)”

²²The hand of the Lord^(AK) was on me there, and he said to me, “Get up and go^(AL) out to the plain,^(AM) and there I will speak to you.” ²³So I got up and went out to the plain. And the glory of the Lord was standing there, like the glory I had seen by the Kebar River,^(AN) and I fell facedown.^(AO)

²⁴Then the Spirit came into me and raised me^(AP) to my feet. He spoke to me and said: “Go, shut yourself inside your house.^(AQ) ²⁵And you, son of man, they will tie with ropes; you will be bound so that you cannot go out among the people.^(AR) ²⁶I will make your tongue stick to the roof^(AS) of your mouth so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them, for they are a rebellious people.^(AT) ²⁷But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’^(AU) Whoever will listen let them listen, and whoever will refuse let them refuse; for they are a rebellious people.^(AV)
