2 And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you (A)these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, (B)testing you (C)to know what was in your heart, (D)whether you would keep his commandments or not. 3 And he humbled you and (E)let you hunger and (F)fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that (G)man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word[a] that comes from the mouth of the Lord. 4 (H)Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years. 5 Know then in your heart that, (I)as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you. 6 So you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him.

2 Remember how the Lord your God led you on this long journey through the desert these past forty years, sending hardships to test you, so that he might know what you intended to do and whether you would obey his commands. 3 (A)He made you go hungry, and then he gave you manna to eat, food that you and your ancestors had never eaten before. He did this to teach you that you must not depend on bread alone to sustain you, but on everything that the Lord says. 4 During these forty years your clothes have not worn out, nor have your feet swollen up. 5 (B)Remember that the Lord your God corrects and punishes you just as parents discipline their children. 6 So then, do as the Lord has commanded you: live according to his laws and obey him.

6 Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him(K) and revering him.(L)
