² May ^(A)my teaching drop as the rain,
    my speech distill as the dew,
like gentle rain upon the tender grass,
    and ^(B)like showers upon the herb.

⁶ May he be like ^(A)rain that falls on ^(B)the mown grass,
    like ^(C)showers that water the earth!

⁷ Then ^(A)the remnant of Jacob shall be
    in the midst of many peoples
like dew from the Lord,
    like showers on the grass,
which delay not for a man
    nor wait for the children of man.

²² After I spoke they did not speak again,
    and my word ^(A)dropped upon them.
²³ They waited for me as for the rain,
    and they ^(B)opened their mouths as for the ^(C)spring rain.

^5 (A)I will be like the dew to Israel;
    ^(B)he shall blossom like the lily;
    he shall take root like the trees ^(C)of Lebanon;

⁴ he ^(A)dawns on them like the morning light,
    like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning,
    like rain^[a] that makes grass to sprout from the earth.
