¹⁸ that ^(A)they may not teach you to do according to all their abominable practices that they have done for their gods, and so you ^(B)sin against the Lord your God.

³⁰ take care ^(A)that you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods?—that I also may do the same.’ ^31 (B)You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way, for every ^(C)abominable thing that the Lord hates they have done for their gods, for ^(D)they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.

³³ They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me; for if you serve their gods, ^(A)it will surely be a snare to you.”

^11 (A)Take no part in the ^(B)unfruitful ^(C)works of darkness, but instead ^(D)expose them.

¹⁴ If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person, and ^(A)have nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed.

^33 (A)Do not be deceived: ^(B)“Bad company ruins good morals.”^[a]

¹³ know for certain that ^(A)the Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations before you, ^(B)but they shall be a snare and a trap for you, a whip on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good ground that the Lord your God has given you.
