The Death of Moses
34 (A)Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And Yahweh (B)showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan, 2 and all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah as far as the [a](C)western sea, 3 and the [b]Negev and the plain in the valley of Jericho, (D)the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. 4 Then Yahweh said to him, “This is the land which (E)I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your seed’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.” 5 So Moses (F)the servant of Yahweh (G)died there in the land of Moab, according to the [c]command of Yahweh. 6 And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, (H)opposite Beth-peor; but (I)no man knows his burial place to this day. 7 Now Moses was (J)120 years old when he died; (K)his eye was not dim, nor his vigor abated. 8 So the sons of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.
9 Now Joshua the son of Nun was (L)filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; and the sons of Israel listened to him and did as Yahweh had commanded Moses. 10 (M)And there has not yet arisen a prophet in Israel like Moses, whom (N)Yahweh knew face to face, 11 [d]in regard to all the signs and wonders which Yahweh sent him to do in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, all his servants, and all his land, 12 and [e]in regard to all the mighty [f]power and [g]in regard to all the great terror which Moses did in the sight of all Israel.

Moses Dies on Mount Nebo
34 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab (A)to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is across from Jericho. And the Lord showed him all the land of Gilead as far as Dan, 2 all Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the [a]Western Sea, 3 the South, and the plain of the Valley of Jericho, (B)the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar. 4 Then the Lord said to him, (C)“This is the land of which I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ (D)I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not cross over there.”
5 (E)So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord. 6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but (F)no one knows his grave to this day. 7 (G)Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. (H)His [b]eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor [c]diminished. 8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab (I)thirty days. So the days of weeping and mourning for Moses ended.
9 Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the (J)spirit of wisdom, for (K)Moses had laid his hands on him; so the children of Israel heeded him, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.
10 But since then there (L)has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, (M)whom the Lord knew face to face, 11 in all (N)the signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt, before Pharaoh, before all his servants, and in all his land, 12 and by all that mighty power and all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.

GOD’S WORD Translation
Moses’ Death and Burial
34 Then Moses went up on Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab. He went to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. The Lord showed him the whole land. He could see Gilead as far as Dan, 2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the territory of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea, 3 the Negev, and the Jordan Plain—the valley of Jericho (the City of Palms)—as far as Zoar.
4 Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised with an oath to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I said I would give it to their descendants. I have let you see it with your own eyes, but you may not go there.”
5 As the Lord had predicted, the Lord’s servant Moses died in Moab. 6 He was buried in a valley in Moab, near Beth Peor. Even today no one knows where his grave is.
7 Moses was 120 years old when he died. His eyesight never became poor, and he never lost his physical strength. 8 The Israelites mourned for Moses in the plains of Moab for 30 days. Then the time of mourning for him was over.
9 Joshua, son of Nun, was filled with the Spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands on him. The Israelites obeyed him and did what the Lord had commanded through Moses.
10 There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord dealt with face to face. 11 He was the one the Lord sent to do all the miraculous signs and amazing things in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials, and to his whole country. 12 Moses used his mighty hand to do all the spectacular and awe-inspiring deeds that were seen by all the Israelites.
