⁵ I looked up^(A) and there before me was a man dressed in linen,^(B) with a belt of fine gold^(C) from Uphaz around his waist.

² And I saw six men coming from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each with a deadly weapon in his hand. With them was a man clothed in linen^(A) who had a writing kit at his side. They came in and stood beside the bronze altar.

⁶ One of them said to the man clothed in linen,^(A) who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”^(B)

⁷ The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand^(C) and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever,^(D) saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time.^[a](E) When the power of the holy people^(F) has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.^(G)”

¹³ and among the lampstands^(A) was someone like a son of man,^[a](B) dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet^(C) and with a golden sash around his chest.^{(D) 14} The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.^{(E) 15} His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace,^(F) and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.^(G)
