Distribution Among Needy Believers

32 And the [a]congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and not one was saying that any of his possessions was his own, but, for them, (A)everything was common. 33 And (B)with great power the apostles were bearing (C)witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. 34 For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses (D)would sell them and bring the [b]proceeds of the sales 35 and (E)lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be (F)distributed to each as any had need.

The Believers Shared Everything

32 The whole group of believers was one in heart and soul. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they held everything in common. 33 The apostles continued to testify about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ[a] with great power, and abundant grace was on all of them. 34 There was not a needy person among them. For from time to time those who were owners of lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds received from what was sold, 35 and laid it at the apostles’ feet. It was distributed to each one according to what anyone needed.

36 Joseph, who was called Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated “son of encouragement”), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, 37 sold a field that belonged to him. He brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
