⁴² And ^(A)he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify ^(B)that he is the one appointed by God to be judge ^(C)of the living and the dead.

¹⁰ For ^(A)we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, ^(B)so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

⁵ but they will give account to him who is ready ^(A)to judge the living and the dead.

Preach the Word

4 ^(A)I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, ^(B)who is to judge the living and the dead, and by ^(C)his appearing and his kingdom:

⁹ For to this end Christ ^(A)died and lived again, that he might be Lord both ^(B)of the dead and of the living.

¹⁰ Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For ^(C)we will all stand before ^(D)the judgment seat of God;

³¹ because he has fixed ^(A)a day on which ^(B)he will judge the world ^(C)in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and ^(D)of this he has given assurance to all ^(E)by raising him from the dead.”

^19 (A)Go therefore and ^(B)make disciples of ^(C)all nations, ^(D)baptizing them ^(E)in^{[a] (F)}the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them ^(G)to observe all that ^(H)I have commanded you. And behold, ^(I)I am with you always, to ^(J)the end of the age.”

¹² “Behold, ^(A)I am coming soon, ^(B)bringing my recompense with me, ^(C)to repay each one for what he has done.

Judgment Before the Great White Throne

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence ^(A)earth and sky fled away, and ^(B)no place was found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and ^(C)books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is ^(D)the book of life. And ^(E)the dead were judged by what was written in the books, ^(F)according to what they had done. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, ^(G)Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, ^(H)according to what they had done. ¹⁴ Then ^(I)Death and Hades ^(J)were thrown into the lake of fire. This is ^(K)the second death, the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, ^(L)he was thrown into the lake of fire.
