²⁹ And ^[a]now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your slaves may ^(A)speak Your word with all ^(B)confidence, ³⁰ while You extend Your hand to heal, and ^[b](C)signs and wonders happen through the name of Your holy ^[c](D)Servant Jesus.” ³¹ And when they had prayed earnestly, the ^(E)place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all ^(F)filled with the Holy Spirit and began to ^(G)speak the word of God with ^(H)confidence.

Distribution Among Needy Believers

³² And the ^[d]congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and not one was saying that any of his possessions was his own, but, for them, ^(I)everything was common. ³³ And ^(J)with great power the apostles were bearing ^(K)witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. ³⁴ For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses ^(L)would sell them and bring the ^[e]proceeds of the sales ³⁵ and ^(M)lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be ^(N)distributed to each as any had need.

³⁶ Now Joseph, a Levite of ^(O)Cyprian birth, who was also called ^(P)Barnabas by the apostles (which translated means Son of ^[f](Q)Encouragement), ³⁷ and who owned a field, sold it and brought the money and ^(R)laid it at the apostles’ feet.

³² And now I ^(A)commend you to God and to ^(B)the word of His grace, which is able to ^(C)build you up and to give you ^(D)the inheritance among all those who have been sanctified.

⁴ God also testifying with them, both by ^(A)signs and wonders and by ^(B)various ^[a]miracles and by ^[b](C)gifts of the Holy Spirit ^(D)according to His own will.
