⁴ And they were all ^(A)filled with the Holy Spirit and began to ^(B)speak with other ^[a]tongues, as the Spirit was giving them ^[b]utterance.

⁴⁴ While Peter was still speaking these things, ^(A)the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the word. ^45 (B)And all the ^[a]circumcised believers who came with Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been ^(C)poured out on the Gentiles also. ⁴⁶ For they were hearing them ^(D)speaking with tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered, ⁴⁷ “^(E)Can anyone refuse water for these to be baptized who ^(F)have received the Holy Spirit just as we did?” ⁴⁸ And he ^(G)ordered them to be baptized ^(H)in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for a few days.

¹⁷ Therefore if ^(A)God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, ^(B)who was I that I could prevent God’s way?”

⁸ And God, ^(A)who knows the heart, testified to them ^(B)giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;
