The Coming of the Holy Spirit

2 When ^(A)the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.

⁶ that together you may with one voice glorify ^(A)the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁸ But I will stay in Ephesus until ^(A)Pentecost,

²⁷ Only ^(A)let your manner of life be ^(B)worthy^[a] of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you ^(C)that you are standing firm in one spirit, with ^(D)one mind ^(E)striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,

¹³ And when they had entered, they went up to ^(A)the upper room, where they were staying, ^(B)Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon ^(C)the Zealot and Judas the son of James. ¹⁴ All these ^(D)with one accord ^(E)were devoting themselves to prayer, together with ^(F)the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and ^(G)his brothers.^[a]

¹⁵ In those days Peter stood up among ^(H)the brothers (the company of persons was in all about 120) and said,

¹⁶ For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia, for he was hastening ^(A)to be at Jerusalem, if possible, ^(B)on the day of Pentecost.

^2 (A)complete my joy by being ^(B)of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

The Feast of Weeks

^9 (A)“You shall count seven weeks. Begin to count the seven weeks from the time the sickle is first put to the standing grain. ¹⁰ Then you shall keep ^(B)the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God with ^(C)the tribute of a freewill offering from your hand, which you shall give ^(D)as the Lord your God blesses you. ¹¹ And ^(E)you shall rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite who is within your towns, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, at the place that the Lord your God will choose, to make his name dwell there. ^12 (F)You shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt; and you shall be careful to observe these statutes.

The Feast of Weeks

^15 (A)“You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the ^(B)wave offering. ¹⁶ You shall count ^(C)fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of ^(D)new grain to the Lord. ¹⁷ You shall bring from your dwelling places two loaves of bread to be waved, made of two tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour, and they shall be baked with leaven, as ^(E)firstfruits to the Lord. ¹⁸ And you shall present with the bread seven lambs a year old without blemish, and one bull from the herd and two rams. They shall be a burnt offering to the Lord, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord. ¹⁹ And you shall offer one ^(F)male goat for a sin offering, and two male lambs a year old as a sacrifice of ^(G)peace offerings. ²⁰ And the priest shall ^(H)wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs. ^(I)They shall be holy to the Lord for the priest. ²¹ And you shall make a proclamation on the same day. You shall hold a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a statute forever in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.
