¹² “He ^(A)frustrates the plotting of the shrewd,
So that their hands cannot attain success.
¹³ “He ^(B)captures the wise by their own shrewdness,
And the advice of the cunning is quickly thwarted.
¹⁴ “By day they ^(C)meet with darkness,
And grope at noon as in the night.

¹⁰ The Lord ^(A)nullifies the counsel of the nations;
He frustrates the plans of the peoples.

⁵⁷ “I will ^(A)make her princes and her wise men drunk,
Her governors, her prefects and her mighty men,
That they may sleep a ^(B)perpetual sleep and not wake up,”
