¹⁵ So ^(A)he took Jehoiachin away into exile to Babylon; also the king’s mother and the king’s wives and his officials and the leading men of the land, he led away into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. ¹⁶ Now all the valiant men, ^(B)seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, one thousand, all mighty men who could wage war, and these the king of Babylon brought into exile to Babylon.

⁷ Then afterwards,” declares Yahweh, “^(A)I will give over Zedekiah king of Judah and his servants and the people, even those who remain in this city from the pestilence, the sword, and the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their lives; and he will strike them down with the edge of the sword. He ^(B)will not show pity on them nor spare nor have compassion.”’

²⁰ And I will give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who ^(A)seek their life. And their ^(B)dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth. ^21 (C)And as for Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials, I will give them into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those who seek their life and into the hand of the military force of the king of Babylon which has ^(D)gone away from you.
