7 Rensa bort den gamla surdegen[a] så att ni blir en ny deg, för ni är osyrade. Vårt påskalamm Kristus har blivit slaktat. 8 (A) Låt oss därför fira högtid, inte med gammal surdeg, inte med ondskans och elakhetens surdeg, utan med renhetens och sanningens osyrade bröd.
9 (B) I mitt brev till er[b] skrev jag att ni inte ska umgås med sexuellt omoraliska människor. 10 (C) Jag menade inte alla omoraliska här i världen, inte alla giriga och utsugare och avgudadyrkare. Annars hade ni behövt lämna världen! 11 (D) Men nu skriver jag till er att ni inte ska umgås med den som kallar sig broder och är sexuellt omoralisk, girig, avgudadyrkare, förtalare, drinkare eller utsugare. Med en sådan ska ni inte ens äta. 12 Är det min sak att döma de utomstående? Är det inte dem som är innanför ni ska döma? 13 (E) De utomstående ska Gud döma. Driv bort från er den som är ond![c]

7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.(A) 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread(B) of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate(C) with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the people of this world(D) who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[a](E) but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater(F) or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.(G)
12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside(H) the church? Are you not to judge those inside?(I) 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”[b](J)

7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Immorality Must Be Judged
9 I wrote to you in my epistle (F)not to [c]keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go (G)out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company (H)with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—(I)not even to eat with such a person.
12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore (J)“put away from yourselves the evil person.”
