¹⁹ Do not admit a charge against an elder except ^(A)on the evidence of two or three witnesses.

¹⁶ But if he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, that every charge may be established ^(A)by the evidence of two or three witnesses.

Laws Concerning Witnesses

¹⁵ “A single witness shall not suffice against a person for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed. ^(A)Only on the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses shall a charge be established.

^6 (A)if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife,^[a] and his children are believers^[b] and not open to the charge of ^(B)debauchery or insubordination.

Final Warnings

13 ^(A)This is the third time I am coming to you. Every charge must be established ^(B)by the evidence of two or three witnesses.

⁹ The Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that all these things were so.

¹⁰ And when the governor had nodded to him to speak, Paul replied:

“Knowing that for many years you have been a judge over this nation, I cheerfully make my defense. ¹¹ You can verify that ^(E)it is not more than twelve days since I ^(F)went up ^(G)to worship in Jerusalem, ¹² and ^(H)they did not find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the temple or in the synagogues or in the city. ^13 (I)Neither can they prove to you what they now bring up against me.
