⁸ But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, ^(A)having put on the breastplate of ^(B)faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.

^12 (A)The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us ^(B)cast off ^(C)the works of darkness and ^(D)put on the armor of light. ^13 (E)Let us walk properly as in the daytime, ^(F)not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, ^(G)not in quarreling and jealousy.

Called to Be Holy

¹³ Therefore, ^(A)preparing your minds for action,^[a] and ^(B)being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

^11 (A)Put on ^(B)the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against ^(C)the schemes of the devil.

¹⁹ We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into ^(A)the inner place behind the curtain,

⁷ But ^(A)if we walk in the light, ^(B)as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and ^(C)the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

³⁵ Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has ^(A)a great reward. ³⁶ For ^(B)you have need of endurance, so that ^(C)when you have done the will of God you may ^(D)receive what is promised.

⁵ For you are all ^(A)children^[a] of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.
