³ Here I am; testify against me before the Lord and before ^(A)his anointed. ^(B)Whose ox have I taken? Or whose donkey have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or from whose hand have I taken a bribe to blind my eyes with it? Testify against me^[a] and I will restore it to you.”

^33 (A)I coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.

¹⁵ And Moses was very angry and said to the Lord, ^(A)“Do not respect their offering. ^(B)I have not taken one donkey from them, and I have not harmed one of them.”

^2 (A)shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight,^{[a] (B)}not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you;^{[b] (C)}not for shameful gain, but eagerly;

⁶ He said to his men, ^(A)“The Lord forbid that I should do this thing to my lord, the Lord's anointed, to put out my hand against him, seeing he is ^(B)the Lord's anointed.”

^19 (A)You shall not pervert justice. ^(B)You shall not show partiality, ^(C)and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.

¹⁰ You are witnesses, and ^(A)God also, ^(B)how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.

⁵ And he said to them, “The Lord is witness against you, and ^(A)his anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything ^(B)in my hand.” And they said, “He is witness.”

10 ^(A)Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head ^(B)and kissed him and said, “Has not the Lord anointed you to be prince^[a] over ^(C)his people Israel? And you shall reign over the people of the Lord and you will save them from the hand of their surrounding enemies. And this shall be the sign to you that the Lord has anointed you to be prince^[b] over his heritage.
