^27 (A)Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord ^(B)in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning ^(C)the body and blood of the Lord.

⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(A)that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give ^(B)for the life of the world is ^(C)my flesh.”

^21 (A)You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and ^(B)the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and ^(C)the table of demons.

²⁹ How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one ^(A)who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned ^(B)the blood of the covenant ^(C)by which he was sanctified, and has ^(D)outraged the Spirit of grace?

¹³ But if anyone who is clean and is not on a journey fails to keep the Passover, ^(A)that person shall be cut off from his people because he did not bring the Lord's ^(B)offering at its appointed time; that man shall bear his sin.

¹⁰ “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, If any one of you or of your descendants is unclean through touching a dead body, or is on a long journey, he shall still keep the Passover to the Lord.

The Death of Nadab and Abihu

10 Now ^(A)Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, ^(B)each took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered ^(C)unauthorized^[a] fire before the Lord, which he had not commanded them. ² And fire ^(D)came out from before the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. ³ Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Among ^(E)those who are near me ^(F)I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” ^(G)And Aaron held his peace.

^63 (A)It is the Spirit who gives life; ^(B)the flesh is no help at all. ^(C)The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. ⁶⁴ But ^(D)there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus ^(E)knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and ^(F)who it was who would betray him.)

¹⁸ For a majority of the people, ^(A)many of them from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise ^(B)than as prescribed. For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord pardon everyone ^19 (C)who sets his heart to seek God, the Lord, the God of his fathers, even though not according to the sanctuary's rules of cleanness.”^{[a] 20} And the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people.
