Descendants of Issachar
7 The sons[a] of Issachar: Tola, (A)Puah, (B)Jashub, and Shimron, four. 2 The sons of Tola: Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their fathers' houses, namely of Tola, mighty warriors of their generations, their number (C)in the days of David being 22,600. 3 The son[b] of Uzzi: Izrahiah. And the sons of Izrahiah: Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah, all five of them were chief men. 4 And along with them, by their generations, according to their fathers' houses, were units of the army for war, 36,000, for they had many wives and sons. 5 Their kinsmen belonging to all the clans of Issachar were in all 87,000 mighty warriors, enrolled by genealogy.
Descendants of Benjamin
6 (D)The sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, and Jediael, three. 7 The sons of Bela: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri, five, heads of fathers' houses, mighty warriors. And their enrollment by genealogies was 22,034. 8 The sons of Becher: Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, (E)Anathoth, and Alemeth. All these were the sons of Becher. 9 And their enrollment by genealogies, according to their generations, as heads of their fathers' houses, mighty warriors, was 20,200. 10 The son of Jediael: Bilhan. And the sons of Bilhan: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar. 11 All these were the sons of Jediael according to the heads of their fathers' houses, mighty warriors, 17,200, able to go to war. 12 And Shuppim and Huppim were the sons of Ir, Hushim the son of (F)Aher.

13 (G)The sons of Naphtali: (H)Jahziel, Guni, Jezer and (I)Shallum, the descendants of Bilhah.
Descendants of Manasseh
14 (J)The sons of Manasseh: Asriel, whom his Aramean concubine bore; she bore (K)Machir the father of Gilead. 15 And Machir took a wife for Huppim and for Shuppim. The name of his sister was Maacah. And the name of the second was Zelophehad, and (L)Zelophehad had daughters. 16 And Maacah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she called his name Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. 17 The son of Ulam: (M)Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead the son of Machir, son of Manasseh. 18 And his sister Hammolecheth bore Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah. 19 The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
Descendants of Ephraim
20 The (N)sons of Ephraim: Shuthelah, and Bered his son, Tahath his son, Eleadah his son, Tahath his son, 21 Zabad his son, Shuthelah his son, and Ezer and Elead, whom the men of Gath who were born in the land killed, because they came down to raid their livestock. 22 And Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brothers came to comfort him. 23 And Ephraim went in to his wife, and she conceived and bore a son. And he called his name Beriah, because disaster had befallen his house.[c] 24 His daughter was Sheerah, who built both Lower and Upper (O)Beth-horon, and Uzzen-sheerah. 25 Rephah was his son, Resheph his son, Telah his son, Tahan his son, 26 Ladan his son, Ammihud his son, (P)Elishama his son, 27 Nun[d] his son, (Q)Joshua his son. 28 (R)Their possessions and settlements were Bethel and its towns, and to the east Naaran, and to the west (S)Gezer and its towns, Shechem and its towns, and Ayyah and its towns; 29 (T)also in possession of the Manassites, (U)Beth-shean and its towns, Taanach and its towns, Megiddo and its towns, Dor and its towns. In these lived the sons of Joseph the son of Israel.
Descendants of Asher
30 (V)The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah. 31 The sons of Beriah: Heber, and Malchiel, who fathered Birzaith. 32 Heber fathered Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham, and their sister Shua. 33 The sons of Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These are the sons of Japhlet. 34 The sons of Shemer his brother: Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram. 35 The sons of Helem his brother: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal. 36 The sons of Zophah: Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah. 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera. 38 The sons of Jether: Jephunneh, Pispa, and Ara. 39 The sons of Ulla: Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia. 40 All of these were men of Asher, heads of fathers' houses, approved, mighty warriors, chiefs of the princes. Their number enrolled by genealogies, for service in war, was 26,000 men.

Issachar. 1 The sons of Issachar were Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron. There were four of them in all.
2 The sons of Tola were Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam, and Shemuel, all leaders of their ancestral clans. During the reign of David, the descendants of Tola had twenty-two thousand, six hundred brave warriors in their generations.
3 The son of Uzzi was Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah were Michael, Obadiah, Joel, and Isshiah. All five of them were leaders. 4 According to the generations of their ancestral clans, they had thirty-six thousand warriors, for they had many wives and children. 5 There were eighty-seven thousand brave warriors in all of their genealogies from among the brethren who belonged to the clans of Issachar.
Benjamin. 6 The sons of Benjamin were Bela, Becher, and Jediael. There were three of them in all.
7 The sons of Bela were Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth, and Iri. They were the five leaders of the ancestral clans. There were twenty-two thousand and thirty-four brave warriors according to their genealogies.
8 The sons of Becher were Zemirah, Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jeremoth, Abijah, Anathoth, and Alemeth. All of these were the sons of Becher. 9 These are the genealogies of the leaders of the ancestral clans and their twenty thousand, two hundred brave warriors.
10 The son of Jediael was Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan were Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah, Zethan, Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
11 All of the sons of Jediael were leaders of the brave warriors, of whom there were seventeen thousand, two hundred ready for battle.
12 The Shuppites and the Huppites were descendants of Ir, and the Hushim were descendants of Dan.
13 Naphtali and Manasseh. The sons of Naphtali were Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shallum. They were descendants of Bilhah.
14 [a]The descendants of Manasseh included Ashriel who was a descendant of his Aramean concubine. She bore Machir, the father of Gilead.
15 Machir took a wife from among the Huppites and the Shuppites. His sister’s name was Maacah. Another of his descendants was Zelophehad who only had daughters.
16 Maacah, the wife of Machir, gave birth to a son named Peresh. His brother’s name was Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17 The son of Ulam was Bedan. These were the descendants of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh. 18 His sister was Hammolecheth. She gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer, and Mahlah.
19 The sons of Shemida were Ahian, Shechem, Likhi, and Aniam.
20 Ephraim. The descendants of Ephraim were Shuthelah, Bered, his son, Tahath, his son, Eleadah, his son, Tahath, his son, 21 Zabad, his son, and Shuthelah, his son. Ezer and Elead were killed by men born in the land of Gath when they led a raid to take away their cattle. 22 Their father Ephraim mourned for them for a long time, and his relatives came to comfort him. 23 Then he slept with his wife again, and she conceived and bore a son whose name was Beriah because misfortune had visited his family.[b] 24 His daughter was Sheerah. She built upper and lower Beth-horon as well as Uzzen-sheerah.
25 Rephah was his son as well as Resheph. There was Telah, his son, Tahan, his son, 26 Ladan, his son, Ammihud, his son, Elishama, his son, 27 Nun, his son, and Joshua, his son.
28 Now their possessions and their dwelling places included Bethel and the towns dependent upon it, to the east Naaran, to the west Gezer and the towns dependent upon it, Shechem and the towns dependent upon it, Ayyah and the towns dependent upon it.[c] 29 Near the boundary with Manasseh there were Beth-shean and the towns dependent upon it, Taanach and the towns dependent upon it, Megiddo and the towns dependent upon it, and Dor with its towns. The descendants of Joseph, the son of Israel, dwelt in them.
30 Asher. The sons of Asher were Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah.
31 The sons of Beriah were Heber and Malchiel, who was the father of Birzaith.
32 Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer, Hotham, and their sister Shua.
33 The sons of Japhlet were Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These were the children of Japhlet.
34 The sons of Shomer were Ahi, Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram.
35 The sons of his brother Hotham were Zophah, Imna, Shelesh, and Amal.
36 The sons of Zophah were Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, and Beera.
38 The sons of Jether were Jephunneh, Pispa, and Ara.
39 The sons of Ulla were Arah, Hanniel, and Rizia.
40 These were all the descendants of Asher, the leaders of the ancestral clans, the mighty brave warriors, and the main leaders. In their genealogies there were twenty-six thousand warriors ready for battle.

- 1 Chronicles 7:14 Manasseh had contacts with the Arameans (see Gen 31:46f). Machir was the half-tribe that dwelt across the Jordan (see Num 32:39f) and was certainly the older of the two half-tribes (see Jdg 5:14). The Huppites and Shuppites belonged to the tribe of Benjamin, while Jabesh in Gilead, a town in the territory of Manasseh, was allied with the Benjaminites (see Jdg 21:12).
- 1 Chronicles 7:23 The clan of Beriah later became part of Benjamin (see 8:13).
- 1 Chronicles 7:28 Shechem is usually placed in the tribe of Manasseh. In this passage, the Chronicler seems to be giving the name Ephraim to the combined tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh.

7 The sons of Issachar:(A)
Tola, Puah,(B) Jashub and Shimron—four in all.
2 The sons of Tola:
Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Ibsam and Samuel—heads of their families. During the reign of David, the descendants of Tola listed as fighting men in their genealogy numbered 22,600.
3 The son of Uzzi:
Izrahiah.
The sons of Izrahiah:
Michael, Obadiah, Joel and Ishiah. All five of them were chiefs. 4 According to their family genealogy, they had 36,000 men ready for battle, for they had many wives and children.
5 The relatives who were fighting men belonging to all the clans of Issachar, as listed in their genealogy, were 87,000 in all.

14 The descendants of Manasseh:(E)
Asriel was his descendant through his Aramean concubine. She gave birth to Makir the father of Gilead.(F) 15 Makir took a wife from among the Huppites and Shuppites. His sister’s name was Maakah.
Another descendant was named Zelophehad,(G) who had only daughters.
16 Makir’s wife Maakah gave birth to a son and named him Peresh. His brother was named Sheresh, and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.
17 The son of Ulam:
Bedan.
These were the sons of Gilead(H) son of Makir, the son of Manasseh. 18 His sister Hammoleketh gave birth to Ishhod, Abiezer(I) and Mahlah.
19 The sons of Shemida(J) were:
Ahian, Shechem, Likhi and Aniam.
Ephraim
20 The descendants of Ephraim:(K)

Ezer and Elead were killed by the native-born men of Gath, when they went down to seize their livestock. 22 Their father Ephraim mourned for them many days, and his relatives came to comfort him. 23 Then he made love to his wife again, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. He named him Beriah,[c] because there had been misfortune in his family. 24 His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon(L) as well as Uzzen Sheerah.
25 Rephah was his son, Resheph his son,[d]
Telah his son, Tahan his son,
26 Ladan his son, Ammihud his son,
Elishama his son, 27 Nun his son
and Joshua his son.
28 Their lands and settlements included Bethel and its surrounding villages, Naaran to the east, Gezer(M) and its villages to the west, and Shechem and its villages all the way to Ayyah and its villages. 29 Along the borders of Manasseh were Beth Shan,(N) Taanach, Megiddo and Dor,(O) together with their villages. The descendants of Joseph son of Israel lived in these towns.
Asher
30 The sons of Asher:(P)
Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi and Beriah. Their sister was Serah.
31 The sons of Beriah:
Heber and Malkiel, who was the father of Birzaith.
32 Heber was the father of Japhlet, Shomer and Hotham and of their sister Shua.
33 The sons of Japhlet:
Pasak, Bimhal and Ashvath.
These were Japhlet’s sons.
34 The sons of Shomer:
Ahi, Rohgah,[e] Hubbah and Aram.
35 The sons of his brother Helem:
Zophah, Imna, Shelesh and Amal.
36 The sons of Zophah:
Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, 37 Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran[f] and Beera.
38 The sons of Jether:
Jephunneh, Pispah and Ara.
39 The sons of Ulla:
Arah, Hanniel and Rizia.
40 All these were descendants of Asher—heads of families, choice men, brave warriors and outstanding leaders. The number of men ready for battle, as listed in their genealogy, was 26,000.
