17 六天后，耶稣带着彼得、雅各和雅各的兄弟约翰暗暗地登上一座高山。 2 耶稣在他们面前改变了形象，面貌如太阳一样发光，衣服洁白如光。 3 忽然，摩西和以利亚一起出现，跟耶稣谈话。 4 彼得对耶稣说：“主啊，我们在这里好极了。如果你愿意，我就在这里搭三座帐篷，一座给你，一座给摩西，一座给以利亚。”
5 他正在说话的时候，一朵灿烂的云彩笼罩他们。云中传出声音：“这是我的爱子，我甚喜悦祂，你们要听从祂。”
6 门徒听见这声音，便俯伏在地，非常惧怕。 7 耶稣就过来摸他们，说：“起来吧，别害怕。” 8 他们抬起头来，看见只剩下耶稣一个人。
9 下山时，耶稣叮嘱他们：“人子还没有从死里复活以前，不要把刚才看见的告诉别人。”
10 门徒问耶稣：“律法教师为什么说以利亚必须先来？”
11 耶稣回答说：“以利亚的确要来，他将复兴一切。 12 但我告诉你们，以利亚已经来了，人们却不认识他，甚至还任意对待他。人子同样也会在他们手下受苦。” 13 门徒这才明白耶稣所说的是指施洗者约翰。
治好被鬼附身的孩子
14 他们回到山下众人聚集的地方。有一个人过来跪在耶稣跟前，说： 15 “主啊！救救我的儿子吧！他患了癫痫症，痛苦极了，曾经几次跌进火中，掉进水里。 16 我带他去见你的门徒，但他们却不能治好他。”
17 耶稣说：“唉！这世代又不信又败坏的人啊，我要跟你们在一起待多久？我要容忍你们多久呢？把他带来吧。” 18 耶稣斥责附在孩子身上的鬼，鬼就离开了那孩子，从此他就好了。
19 事后，门徒私下问耶稣：“我们为什么赶不走那鬼呢？”
20 耶稣说：“你们的信心太小了。我实在告诉你们，你们若有像芥菜种那样大的信心，就算叫这座山从这里移到那里，它也会移开，你们将没有办不到的事。 21 至于这一类的鬼，你们必须祷告和禁食才能把它赶走。”
耶稣第二次预言受害和复活
22 他们聚集在加利利的时候，耶稣对他们说：“人子将要被出卖，交在人手里。 23 他们将杀害祂，第三天祂将复活。”门徒听了，十分忧愁。
从鱼口得税钱
24 他们来到迦百农，有几个收圣殿税的来问彼得：“你们的老师不纳圣殿税吗？”
25 彼得说“纳！”他进了屋，还没开口，耶稣便问他：“西门，你有何看法？世上的君王向谁征收赋税？向自己的儿子呢，还是向外人呢？”
26 彼得答道：“向外人。”
耶稣说：“所以儿子不用纳税。 27 但为了避免得罪这些人，你就去湖边钓鱼，把钓上来的第一条鱼的嘴打开，里面有一个钱币，拿它去缴你我的税好了。”
天国里谁最伟大
18 这时，门徒上前来，问耶稣：“在天国谁最伟大？”
2 耶稣叫了一个小孩子来站在他们当中，然后说： 3 “我实在告诉你们，你们若不变得像小孩子那样，绝不能进天国。 4 所以，凡像这小孩子一样谦卑的人，在天国才是最伟大的。
5 “任何人为了我的名而接待这样一个小孩子，就是接待了我。 6 但不论谁使这样一个小信徒失足犯罪，他的下场比把大磨石拴在他脖子上沉到深海里还要惨。 7 这世界有祸了！因为里面充满了引人犯罪的事。这样的事是免不了的，但那些引人犯罪的人有祸了！
8 “如果你的手或脚使你犯罪，就砍掉它！因为肢体残缺着进入永生，总比四肢健全却被丢进永远不灭的火中好。 9 如果你的一只眼睛使你犯罪，就剜出来丢掉它吧！独眼进入永生，总比双目健全却被丢进地狱的火中好。 10 你们切不可轻视任何一位卑微的人。我告诉你们，他们的天使在天上常见我天父的面。
迷失的羊
11 “人子到世界来，为要拯救迷失的人。 12 如果一个人有一百只羊，其中有一只走迷了路，他会怎么办呢？难道不会把那九十九只撇在山上，去找那只迷失的羊吗？ 13 我实在告诉你们，如果找到了，他会非常欢喜，甚至比有那九十九只没有迷失的羊还欢喜。 14 同样，你们的天父也不愿任何一个卑微的人失丧。
纠正信徒的过错
15 “如果你的弟兄得罪了你，你要找个机会跟他单独在一起，指出他的错处。如果他肯接受劝告，你就得了一位弟兄。 16 如果他不听劝告，你就带一两位弟兄去见他，让两三个人为谈话作证。 17 如果他仍然不听，就应当告诉教会。如果他连教会也不听，就把他看作异教徒或税吏[a]。 18 我实在告诉你们，你们在地上捆绑的，在天上也要捆绑；你们在地上释放的，在天上也要释放。
19 “我又告诉你们，如果你们当中有两个人在地上同心合意地祈求，不论求什么，我天上的父必为你们成就。 20 因为哪里有两三个人奉我的名聚会，我就在哪里与他们同在。”
七十个七次
21 彼得上前问耶稣：“主啊，如果我的弟兄得罪了我，我该饶恕他多少次呢？七次够了吧？”
22 耶稣回答说：“我告诉你，不是七次，是七十个七次。
23 “因此，天国就像一个王，他要跟奴仆清算债务。 24 正开始清算的时候，有人带着一个欠了六千万银币[b]的人进来。 25 因为这个人无法清还债款，王就下令把他及其妻儿和所有财产全部卖掉还债。 26 那奴仆跪在王面前乞求说，‘请宽容我，我会把债务全部还清的。’ 27 王可怜他，不但释放了他，而且免了他全部的债。
28 “可是，那奴仆出去后，遇见一位欠他一百个银币[c]的同伴，就揪住同伴，掐着他的喉咙说，‘还我钱！’ 29 同伴跪下哀求道，‘请宽容我，我会还你的。’
30 “那奴仆却不肯，竟把同伴送进监狱，直到他还清债务为止。 31 其他的奴仆目睹这一切，都愤愤不平，把这件事告诉了王。
32 “于是，王把那奴仆召来，说，‘你这可恶的奴才！你哀求我，我就免了你所有的债。 33 难道你不应该怜悯你的同伴，就像我怜悯你一样吗？’ 34 王大怒，下令把他交给狱卒受刑，直到他还清全部的债务。 35 如果你们不从心里饶恕自己的弟兄，我的天父也要这样对待你们。”
论休妻
19 耶稣说完这番话，就离开加利利来到约旦河对岸的犹太地区。 2 有一大群人跟着祂，祂就在那里医好了他们的病。
3 有几个法利赛人到耶稣那里想试探祂，便问祂：“丈夫可以用任何理由休妻吗？”
4 耶稣回答说：“你们没有读过吗？太初，造物主造了男人和女人，并且说， 5 ‘因此，人要离开父母，与妻子结合，二人成为一体。’ 6 这样，夫妻不再是两个人，而是一体了。因此，上帝配合的，人不可分开。”
7 他们追问：“那么，为什么摩西说，只要给妻子休书，就可以休她呢？”
8 耶稣说：“因为摩西知道你们铁石心肠，所以才准你们休妻。但起初并不是这样。 9 我告诉你们，除非是妻子不贞，否则，任何人休妻另娶，就是犯通奸罪[d]。”
10 门徒对耶稣说：“如果夫妻关系是这样，还不如不结婚。”
11 耶稣说：“这话不是每个人都能接受的，只有那些得到这种恩赐的人才能接受。 12 人不结婚的原因很多，有些是因为先天的缺陷，有些是被人阉了，也有些是为了天国而自己放弃结婚的权利。谁能接受，就让他接受吧。”
耶稣为小孩子祝福
13 有人带着小孩子来见耶稣，请求耶稣为他们按手祷告，却受到门徒的责备。
14 耶稣说：“让小孩子到我这里来，不要阻止他们，因为天国属于这样的人。” 15 于是祂为他们按手祷告，然后才离开那里。
有钱的青年
16 有一个人来请教耶稣：“老师，我该做什么善事才能获得永生呢？”
17 耶稣说：“你为什么问我做什么善事？只有上帝是善的，你要得永生，就必须遵守祂的诫命。”
18 那人问：“什么诫命呢？”
耶稣答道：“不可杀人，不可通奸，不可偷盗，不可作伪证， 19 要孝敬父母，并且爱邻如己。”
20 那青年说：“这些我早已遵守了，还缺什么呢？”
21 耶稣告诉他：“如果你想做到纯全，就去变卖所有的产业，送给穷人，你就必有财宝存在天上，然后你来跟从我。” 22 那青年听后，便忧伤地走了，因为他有许多产业。
23 事后，耶稣对门徒说：“我实在告诉你们，有钱人进天国很困难。 24 我再告诉你们，骆驼穿过针眼比有钱人进上帝的国还容易呢！”
25 门徒听了，惊奇地问：“这样，谁能得救呢？”
26 耶稣看着他们说：“对人而言，这不可能；但对上帝而言，凡事都可能。”
27 彼得问道：“你看，我们已经撇下一切来跟从你了，将来会有什么奖赏呢？”
28 耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，到万物更新、人子坐在祂荣耀的宝座上时，你们这些跟从我的人也要坐在十二个宝座上，审判以色列的十二个支派。 29 无论谁为我的名而撇下房屋、弟兄、姊妹、父母、儿女或田地，都要得到百倍的赏赐，而且承受永生。 30 然而，许多为首的将要殿后，殿后的将要为首。”
葡萄园工人的比喻
20 耶稣接着说：“因为天国就像一个园主清早去外面请工人到他的葡萄园做工。 2 他跟工人讲好一天的工钱是一个银币，然后派他们去葡萄园。
3 “大约上午九点钟，园主出去看见一些人站在街市上无所事事， 4 就对他们说，‘你们到我的葡萄园来工作吧，我会给你们合理的工钱。’
5 “他们便去了。正午和下午三点钟，他又出去继续请人到葡萄园做工。 6 到了下午五点钟的时候，他再次出去，看见还有人闲站在那里，就问他们，‘为什么你们整天站在这里无所事事呢？’ 7 他们回答说，‘因为没有人雇用我们。’园主说，‘你们也到我的葡萄园来吧！’
8 “到了傍晚，园主对工头说，‘叫工人来领工钱吧，最晚来的先领，最先来的后领。’
9 “下午五点来的工人每人得了一个银币。 10 最早来的工人来领的时候，以为必定可以多得一点工钱，谁知也各得一个银币。
11 “他们拿着工钱满腹牢骚地对园主说， 12 ‘那些最晚来的人只工作了一小时，而我们在烈日之下辛苦了一整天，怎么会领同样的工钱呢？’
13 “园主对他们当中的一个人说，‘朋友，我并没有欠你呀！我们不是讲好付你一个银币吗？ 14 拿着你的工钱走吧。我给那后来的和你一样的工钱，是我愿意。 15 难道我不可随意使用自己的钱吗？因为我慷慨，你就眼红吗？’ 16 因此，为首的将要殿后，殿后的将要为首。”
耶稣第三次预言自己受难
17 在去耶路撒冷的途中，耶稣把十二个门徒带到一边，对他们说： 18 “你们要留意，我们现在前往耶路撒冷，人子将被交给祭司长和律法教师。他们要判祂死刑， 19 把祂交给外族人，受嘲弄、鞭打，被钉在十字架上。但第三天祂必复活。”
一个母亲的请求
20 当时，西庇太的妻子带着两个儿子上前，跪在耶稣面前，有事要求祂。
21 耶稣问她：“你要什么呢？”
她说：“在你的国度，请让我这两个儿子一个坐在你右边，一个坐在你左边。”
22 耶稣回答说：“你们不知道自己在求什么。我要喝的那一杯，你们能喝吗？”
他们说：“我们能。”
23 耶稣对他们说：“我要喝的那一杯，你们也要喝。不过谁坐在我的左右不是我来定，而是我父为谁预备的，就让谁坐。”
24 其他十个门徒听见这事，都对他们兄弟二人十分恼火。 25 于是，耶稣把他们叫来，说：“外族人有君王统治他们，有大臣管理他们。但你们不可这样。 26 你们中间，谁要当首领，谁就要做大家的仆人； 27 谁要居首位，谁就要做大家的奴仆。 28 正如人子不是来受人服侍，而是来服侍人，并且牺牲性命，作许多人的赎价。”
治好两个瞎子
29 耶稣和祂的门徒离开耶利哥时，有一大群人跟着祂。 30 有两个瞎子正坐在路旁，听说耶稣经过，就高声喊叫：“主啊，大卫的后裔啊，可怜我们吧！” 31 众人责备他们，叫他们不要出声，他们却喊得更大声了：“主啊，大卫的后裔啊，可怜我们吧！”
32 耶稣停下脚步，叫了他们来，问他们：“你们要我为你们做什么？” 33 他们说：“主啊，我们想能够看见。” 34 耶稣就动了慈心，摸他们的眼睛，他们立刻得见光明，并跟从了耶稣。

The Transfiguration(A)(B)
17 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John(C) the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. 3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.
4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.(D) Listen to him!”(E)
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.”(F) 8 When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, “Don’t tell anyone(G) what you have seen, until the Son of Man(H) has been raised from the dead.”(I)
10 The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”
11 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things.(J) 12 But I tell you, Elijah has already come,(K) and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished.(L) In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer(M) at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.(N)
Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy(O)
14 When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures(P) and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16 I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
17 “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” 18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith(Q) as small as a mustard seed,(R) you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.(S) Nothing will be impossible for you.” [21] [a]
Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time
22 When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, “The Son of Man(T) is going to be delivered into the hands of men. 23 They will kill him,(U) and on the third day(V) he will be raised to life.”(W) And the disciples were filled with grief.
The Temple Tax
24 After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax(X) came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”
25 “Yes, he does,” he replied.
When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes(Y)—from their own children or from others?”
26 “From others,” Peter answered.
“Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. 27 “But so that we may not cause offense,(Z) go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven(AA)
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children,(AB) you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.(AC) 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.(AD) 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.(AE)
Causing to Stumble
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.(AF) 7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!(AG) 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble,(AH) cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble,(AI) gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.(AJ)
The Parable of the Wandering Sheep(AK)
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels(AL) in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [b]
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “If your brother or sister[c] sins,[d] go and point out their fault,(AM) just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[e](AN) 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church;(AO) and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.(AP)
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[f] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[g] loosed in heaven.(AQ)
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them(AR) by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”(AS)
The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me?(AT) Up to seven times?”(AU)
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[h](AV)
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like(AW) a king who wanted to settle accounts(AX) with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[i] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay,(AY) the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold(AZ) to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him.(BA) ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[j] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”(BB)
Divorce(BC)
19 When Jesus had finished saying these things,(BD) he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan. 2 Large crowds followed him, and he healed them(BE) there.
3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife(BF) for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[k](BG) 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[l]?(BH) 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”(BI)
8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”(BJ)
10 The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”
11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.(BK) 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
The Little Children and Jesus(BL)
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them(BM) and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs(BN) to such as these.”(BO) 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
The Rich and the Kingdom of God(BP)
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life(BQ)?”(BR)
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”(BS)
18 “Which ones?” he inquired.
Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery,(BT) you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[m](BU) and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’[n]”(BV)
20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect,(BW) go, sell your possessions and give to the poor,(BX) and you will have treasure in heaven.(BY) Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich(BZ) to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”(CA)
27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you!(CB) What then will there be for us?”
28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne,(CC) you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.(CD) 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[o] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.(CE) 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.(CF)
The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like(CG) a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.(CH) 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[p] for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
3 “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4 He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So they went.
“He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6 About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’
7 “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered.
“He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’
8 “When evening came,(CI) the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’
9 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble(CJ) against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat(CK) of the day.’
13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend.(CL) Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? 14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’(CM)
16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”(CN)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time(CO)
17 Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, 18 “We are going up to Jerusalem,(CP) and the Son of Man(CQ) will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law.(CR) They will condemn him to death 19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged(CS) and crucified.(CT) On the third day(CU) he will be raised to life!”(CV)
A Mother’s Request(CW)
20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons(CX) came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down,(CY) asked a favor of him.
21 “What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”(CZ)
22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup(DA) I am going to drink?”
“We can,” they answered.
23 Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup,(DB) but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant(DC) with the two brothers. 25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,(DD) 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man(DE) did not come to be served, but to serve,(DF) and to give his life as a ransom(DG) for many.”
Two Blind Men Receive Sight(DH)
29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David,(DI) have mercy on us!”
31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
33 “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.”
34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

迷失的羊

纠正信徒的过错
15 “如果你的弟兄得罪了你，你要找个机会跟他单独在一起，指出他的错处。如果他肯接受劝告，你就得了一位弟兄。 16 如果他不听劝告，你就带一两位弟兄去见他，让两三个人为谈话作证。 17 如果他仍然不听，就应当告诉教会。如果他连教会也不听，就把他看作异教徒或税吏[a]。 18 我实在告诉你们，你们在地上捆绑的，在天上也要捆绑；你们在地上释放的，在天上也要释放。
19 “我又告诉你们，如果你们当中有两个人在地上同心合意地祈求，不论求什么，我天上的父必为你们成就。 20 因为哪里有两三个人奉我的名聚会，我就在哪里与他们同在。”
七十个七次
21 彼得上前问耶稣：“主啊，如果我的弟兄得罪了我，我该饶恕他多少次呢？七次够了吧？”

有钱的青年
16 有一个人来请教耶稣：“老师，我该做什么善事才能获得永生呢？”
17 耶稣说：“你为什么问我做什么善事？只有上帝是善的，你要得永生，就必须遵守祂的诫命。”
18 那人问：“什么诫命呢？”
耶稣答道：“不可杀人，不可通奸，不可偷盗，不可作伪证， 19 要孝敬父母，并且爱邻如己。”

17 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John(C) the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. 3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.
4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.(D) Listen to him!”(E)
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.”(F) 8 When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, “Don’t tell anyone(G) what you have seen, until the Son of Man(H) has been raised from the dead.”(I)
10 The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”

Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy(O)
14 When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures(P) and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16 I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
17 “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” 18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith(Q) as small as a mustard seed,(R) you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.(S) Nothing will be impossible for you.” [21] [a]
Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time
22 When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, “The Son of Man(T) is going to be delivered into the hands of men. 23 They will kill him,(U) and on the third day(V) he will be raised to life.”(W) And the disciples were filled with grief.
The Temple Tax
24 After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax(X) came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”
25 “Yes, he does,” he replied.
When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes(Y)—from their own children or from others?”
26 “From others,” Peter answered.
“Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. 27 “But so that we may not cause offense,(Z) go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”
The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven(AA)
18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children,(AB) you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.(AC) 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.(AD) 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.(AE)
Causing to Stumble
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.(AF) 7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!(AG) 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble,(AH) cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble,(AI) gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.(AJ)
The Parable of the Wandering Sheep(AK)
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels(AL) in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [b]
12 “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? 13 And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. 14 In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “If your brother or sister[c] sins,[d] go and point out their fault,(AM) just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[e](AN) 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church;(AO) and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.(AP)
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[f] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[g] loosed in heaven.(AQ)
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them(AR) by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”(AS)
The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me?(AT) Up to seven times?”(AU)
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[h](AV)
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like(AW) a king who wanted to settle accounts(AX) with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[i] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay,(AY) the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold(AZ) to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him.(BA) ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”(BB)
Divorce(BC)
19 When Jesus had finished saying these things,(BD) he left Galilee and went into the region of Judea to the other side of the Jordan. 2 Large crowds followed him, and he healed them(BE) there.
3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife(BF) for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[k](BG) 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[l]?(BH) 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”(BJ)
10 The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.”
11 Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.(BK) 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
The Little Children and Jesus(BL)
13 Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them(BM) and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs(BN) to such as these.”(BO) 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.
The Rich and the Kingdom of God(BP)
16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life(BQ)?”(BR)
17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”(BS)
18 “Which ones?” he inquired.
Jesus replied, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery,(BT) you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, 19 honor your father and mother,’[m](BU) and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’[n]”(BV)
20 “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect,(BW) go, sell your possessions and give to the poor,(BX) and you will have treasure in heaven.(BY) Then come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich(BZ) to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”(CA)
27 Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you!(CB) What then will there be for us?”
28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne,(CC) you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.(CD) 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[o] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.(CE) 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.(CF)
The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like(CG) a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.(CH) 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[p] for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
3 “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4 He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So they went.
“He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6 About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’
7 “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered.
“He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’
8 “When evening came,(CI) the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’
9 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble(CJ) against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat(CK) of the day.’
13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend.(CL) Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? 14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’(CM)
16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”(CN)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time(CO)
17 Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, 18 “We are going up to Jerusalem,(CP) and the Son of Man(CQ) will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law.(CR) They will condemn him to death 19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged(CS) and crucified.(CT) On the third day(CU) he will be raised to life!”(CV)
A Mother’s Request(CW)
20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons(CX) came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down,(CY) asked a favor of him.
21 “What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”(CZ)
22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup(DA) I am going to drink?”
“We can,” they answered.
23 Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup,(DB) but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant(DC) with the two brothers. 25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,(DD) 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man(DE) did not come to be served, but to serve,(DF) and to give his life as a ransom(DG) for many.”
Two Blind Men Receive Sight(DH)
29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David,(DI) have mercy on us!”
31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
