2 (A)Чеда мои! Това ви пиша, за да не съгрешавате; и ако някой съгреши, то пред Отца имаме ходатай Иисуса Христа Праведника:
2 (B)и Той е омилостивение за нашите грехове, и не само за нашите, но и за греховете на цял свят.
3 По това узнаваме, че сме Го познали, ако пазим Неговите заповеди.
4 Който казва: „познах Го“, а заповедите Му не пази, той е лъжец, и истината не е в него;
5 а който пази словото Му, в него наистина Божията любов е съвършена: по това узнаваме, че сме в Него.
6 (C)Който казва, че пребъдва в Него, длъжен е да постъпва тъй, както Той е постъпвал.
7 (D)Възлюбени, пиша ви не нова заповед, а заповед стара, която имахте отначало. Старата заповед е словото, което чухте отначало.
8 (E)Но все пак нова заповед ви пиша, онова, що е истинско и в Него и във вас; защото тъмнината преминава, и истинската светлина вече свети.
9 (F)Който казва, че е в светлината, а мрази брата си, той е още в тъмнината.
10 Който обича брата си, той пребъдва в светлината, и в него няма съблазън.
11 (G)А който мрази брата си, той се намира в тъмнината, и в тъмнината ходи, и не знае накъде отива, защото тъмнината е ослепила очите му.
12 (H)Пиша вам, чеда, защото ви са простени греховете заради Неговото име.
13 (I)Пиша вам, бащи, защото познахте Оногова, Който е отначало. Пиша вам, момци, защото победихте лукавия. Пиша вам, момчета, защото познахте Отца.
14 (J)Писах вам, бащи, защото познахте Оногова, Който е отначало; писах вам, момци, защото сте силни, и Божието слово пребъдва във вас, и победихте лукавия.
15 (K)Не обичайте света, нито което е в света: ако някой обича света, той няма любовта на Отца.
16 Защото всичко, що е в света – похотта на плътта, похотта на очите и гордостта житейска, не е от Отца, а от тоя свят.
17 (L)И светът преминава, и неговите похоти, а който изпълнява волята Божия, пребъдва довека.
18 (M)Деца, последно време е. И както сте слушали, че иде антихрист, и сега са се появили вече много антихристи: от това и познаваме, че е последно време.
19 (N)Те излязоха от нас, но не бяха наши; защото, ако бяха били наши, щяха да останат с нас; но те излязоха, за да стане явно, че не са всички наши.
20 (O)И вие имате помазание от Светаго и знаете всичко.
21 Не ви писах, че не знаете истината, а че я знаете, както и че никоя лъжа не иде от истината.
22 Кой е лъжец, ако не оня, който отрича, че Иисус е Христос? Той е антихрист, който отрича Отца и Сина.
23 (P)Всякой, който отрича Сина, няма и Отца; а който изповядва Сина, има и Отца.

耶稣是我们的助手
2 我亲爱的孩子，我写信告诉你们这些事，是为了让你们不再犯罪。但是如果有人犯罪，我们有耶稣基督来帮助我们。他是那位义者，他会在上帝面前为我们辩护。 2 耶稣是除去我们罪孽的祭品，他不仅仅只是为了我们，也是为全人类而牺牲的。
3 如果我们遵守上帝的命令，我们就能肯定，我们真正地认识上帝。 4 如果一个人说“我认识上帝！”，但却不遵守上帝的命令，他就是说谎者，真理就不在他之中。 5 遵守上帝教导的人，他对上帝的爱在他之中会真正地得以实现。这就是我们如何知道我们在遵守上帝的教导的方法： 6 如果一个人说自己生活在上帝之中，他就必须像耶稣那样生活。

13 我写信给你们做父亲的，
因为你们知道从一开始就存在的那位。
我写信给你们年轻人，
因为你们战胜了那个邪恶者（魔鬼）。
14 孩子们，我写信给你们，
因为你们认识父。
我写信给你们做父亲的，
因为你们知道一开始就存在的那位。
我写信给你们年轻人，
因为你们强壮有力，
上帝的信息生活在你们之中。
你们已战胜了那个邪恶者。
15 不要爱这个世界或世上的东西。如果一个人爱这个世界，他心中就没有对上帝的爱。 16 这些是世上的邪恶事物：
满足我们罪恶自我的欲望；
对我们所见的罪恶事物的欲望
和对我们拥有的东西骄傲。
这些东西都不是来自于父（上帝），而是来自于这个世界。 17 这个世界正在消逝，人们在世上所欲望的东西也在消逝。但是，执行上帝旨意的人会永远活着。
不要跟随基督的敌人
18 我的孩子，终结近在咫尺。你们已经听说基督的敌人要来。他的许多敌人已经出现在这里了。所以我们知道终结临近了。 19 基督的敌人曾在我们中间，但是他们已离开了我们。他们从来就没有真正地属于过我们。假如他们真正属于我们，他们就会和我们呆在一起。但是，他们离开了，这就表明他们没人真正属于我们。
20 你们都领受了那位圣者（上帝或基督）给你们的恩赐，所以你们都应该认识真理。 21 我写信给你们，不是因为你们不认识真理，而是因为你们的确认识真理，并且知道谎言不会出自真理。

2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.
14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

The Test of Knowing Christ
2 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, (A)we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And (B)He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but (C)also for the whole world.
The Test of Knowing Him
3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a (D)liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But (E)whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God [a]is perfected (F)in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 (G)He who says he abides in Him (H)ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
7 [b]Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had (I)from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard [c]from the beginning. 8 Again, (J)a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, (K)because the darkness is passing away, and (L)the true light is already shining.
9 (M)He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. 10 (N)He who loves his brother abides in the light, and (O)there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But he who (P)hates his brother is in darkness and (Q)walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
Their Spiritual State
12 I write to you, little children,
Because (R)your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.
13 I write to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is (S)from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
Because you have overcome the wicked one.
I write to you, little children,
Because you have (T)known the Father.
14 I have written to you, fathers,
Because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
I have written to you, young men,
Because (U)you are strong, and the word of God abides in you,
And you have overcome the wicked one.
Do Not Love the World
15 (V)Do not love the world or the things in the world. (W)If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, (X)the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And (Y)the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Deceptions of the Last Hour
18 (Z)Little children, (AA)it is the last hour; and as you have heard that (AB)the[d] Antichrist is coming, (AC)even now many antichrists have come, by which we know (AD)that it is the last hour. 19 (AE)They went out from us, but they were not of us; for (AF)if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out (AG)that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.
20 But (AH)you have an anointing (AI)from the Holy One, and (AJ)you[e] know all things. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 (AK)Who is a liar but he who denies that (AL)Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 (AM)Whoever denies the Son does not have the (AN)Father either; (AO)he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
Let Truth Abide in You
24 Therefore let that abide in you (AP)which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, (AQ)you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 (AR)And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to [f]deceive you. 27 But the (AS)anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and (AT)you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing (AU)teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you [g]will abide in Him.
The Children of God
28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that [h]when He appears, we may have (AV)confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. 29 (AW)If you know that He is righteous, you know that (AX)everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
