கிறிஸ்து உலகத்துக்கு வருதல்
1 உலகம் ஆரம்பிக்கும் முன்பே வார்த்தை[a] இருந்தது. அந்த வார்த்தை தேவனோடு இருந்தது. அந்த வார்த்தை தேவனாகவே இருந்தது. 2 அவர் (வார்த்தை) தொடக்கக் காலத்திலேயே தேவனோடு இருந்தார். 3 அனைத்தும் அவர் (வார்த்தை) மூலமாகவே உண்டாக்கப்பட்டன. அவரில்லாமல் எதுவும் உருவாகவில்லை. 4 அவருக்குள் ஜீவன் இருந்தது. அந்த ஜீவன் உலகத்து மக்களுக்கு ஒளியாய் இருந்தது. 5 அந்த ஒளி இருளிலே வெளிச்சத்தைத் தந்தது. இருளானது அந்த ஒளியை மேற்கொள்ளவில்லை.
6 யோவான் என்ற பெயருள்ள ஒரு மனிதன் இருந்தான். அவன் தேவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்டவன். 7 அவன் அந்த ஒளியைப் (கிறிஸ்து) பற்றி மக்களிடம் சொல்வதற்காக வந்தான். எனவே மக்கள் அனைவரும் யோவான் மூலமாக அந்த ஒளியைப்பற்றிக் கேள்விப்படவும் நம்பிக்கை வைக்கவும் முடிந்தது. 8 யோவான் ஒளியல்ல. ஆனால் அவன் அந்த ஒளியைப்பற்றி மக்களிடம் சொல்லவே வந்தவன். 9 அனைத்து மக்களுக்கும் வெளிச்சத்தைத் தருகிற அந்த உண்மையான ஒளி உலகத்திற்கு வந்து கொண்டிருந்தது.
10 அவர் (வார்த்தை) உலகத்தில் ஏற்கெனவே இருந்தார். உலகம் அவர் மூலமாகவே உண்டாக்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால் உலகம் அவரை அறிந்துகொள்ளாமல் இருந்தது. 11 அவருக்குச் சொந்தமான உலகத்துக்கு அவர் வந்தார். ஆனால் அவருக்குச் சொந்தமான மக்கள் அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை. 12 சிலர் அவரை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டனர். அவர்கள் நம்பினர். தன்னை நம்பியவர்களுக்கு தேவனின் பிள்ளைகளாவதற்கு உரிமையைக் கொடுத்தார். 13 இந்தப் பிள்ளைகள் ஏனைய சிறிய குழந்தைகள் பிறப்பதைப்போல பிறக்கவில்லை. இவர்கள் ஒரு தாய் தந்தையின் விருப்பத்தின்படியோ, திட்டத்தின்படியோ பிறக்கவில்லை. இந்தக் குழந்தைகள் தேவனாலேயே பிறந்தனர்.
14 வார்த்தை ஒரு மனிதனாகி நம்மிடையே வாழ்ந்தார். அவரது மகிமையை நாம் பார்த்தோம். அந்த மகிமை தந்தையின் ஒரே குமாரனுக்கு உரியது. அவ்வார்த்தை கிருபையும், உண்மையும் நிறைந்ததாயிற்று. 15 அவரைப்பற்றி யோவான் மக்களிடம், “நான் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்தவர் இவர்தான். ‘எனக்குப் பின்னால் வருகிறவர் என்னிலும் மேலானவர். இவர் எனக்கு முன்னரே இருப்பவர்’” என்று சாட்சி சொன்னான்.
16 அவர் (கிறிஸ்து) கிருபையும், உண்மையும் நிறைந்தவராய் இருந்தார். அவரிடமிருந்து நாமனைவரும் கிருபையின் மேல் கிருபை பெற்றோம். 17 மோசே மூலம் சட்டங்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன! ஆனால் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மூலமாகவே கிருபையும், உண்மையும் வந்தன. 18 எந்த மனிதனும் ஒருபோதும் தேவனைப் பார்த்ததில்லை. ஆனால் இயேசுவாகிய ஒரே குமாரனே தேவன். அவர் பிதாவுக்கு (தேவனுக்கு) மிகவும் நெருக்கமானவர். அத்துடன் குமாரனே தேவனின் தன்மையை நமக்கு வெளிக்காட்டினார்.
இயேசுவைப்பற்றி யோவான்

19 எருசலேமிலுள்ள யூதர்கள் ஆசாரியரையும் லேவியரையும் யோவானிடம் அனுப்பி வைத்தார்கள். “நீர் யார்?” என்று கேட்பதற்காக அவர்களை யூதர்கள் அனுப்பினர். 20 யோவான் அவர்களிடம் தாராளமாகப் பேசினான். அவன் பதில் சொல்ல மறுக்கவில்லை. “நான் கிறிஸ்து அல்ல” என்று யோவான் தெளிவாகக் கூறினான். இது தான் அவன் மக்களிடம் சொன்னது.
21 “பிறகு நீர் யார்? நீர் எலியாவா?” என்று மேலும் யூதர்கள் யோவானிடம் கேட்டார்கள். “இல்லை. நான் எலியா இல்லை” என்று யோவான் பதிலுரைத்தான்.
“நீர் தீர்க்கதரிசியா?” என யூதர்கள் கேட்டனர்.
“இல்லை. நான் தீர்க்கதரிசி இல்லை” என்றான் யோவான்.
22 “நீர் யார்? உம்மைப்பற்றி எங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள். எங்களை அனுப்பியவர்களுக்கு நாங்கள் சொல்வதற்கென்று ஒரு பதில் சொல்லுங்கள். உம்மைப்பற்றி நீர் என்ன சொல்கிறீர்?” என்று யூதர்கள் கேட்டனர்.
23 யோவான் அவர்களிடம் தீர்க்கதரிசி ஏசாயாவின் வார்த்தைகளைச் சொன்னான்.
“வனாந்தரத்தில் சத்தமிடுகிறவனின் ஓசையாக நான் இருக்கிறேன்.
‘கர்த்தருக்கு வழியை ஆயத்தம் பண்ணுங்கள்.’”(A)
24 யூதர்களான இவர்கள் பரிசேயர்கள் என்பவர்களால் அனுப்பப்பட்டிருந்தனர். 25 “நீர் கிறிஸ்து அல்ல என்று கூறுகிறீர். நீர் எலியாவோ தீர்க்கதரிசியோ அல்ல என்றும் கூறுகிறீர். பின்னர் நீர் ஏன் ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுக்கிறீர்?” என அவர்கள் யோவானிடம் கேட்டார்கள்.
26 “நான் தண்ணீரால் ஞானஸ்நானம் தருகிறேன். ஆனால் உங்களோடு இங்கே இருக்கிற ஒருவர் உங்களால் அறியப்படாதவராக இருக்கிறார். 27 அந்த ஒருவர்தான் எனக்குப் பின்னால் வருகிறவர். அவரது செருப்பின் வாரை அவிழ்க்கக்கூட தகுதியற்றவன் நான்” என்று யோவான் பதிலுரைத்தான்.
28 இந்நிகழ்ச்சிகள் யாவும் யோர்தான் ஆற்றின் அக்கரையில் உள்ள பெத்தானியாவில் நடைபெற்றன. இங்கேதான் யோவான் மக்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
இயேசு, தேவ ஆட்டுக்குட்டி
29 மறுநாள் தன்னை நோக்கி இயேசு வருவதை யோவான் பார்த்தான். “பாருங்கள், இவர் தான் தேவனுடைய ஆட்டுக்குட்டி. உலகத்தின் பாவங்களை சுமந்து தீர்க்கப்போகிறவர். 30 நான் ஏற்கெனவே சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்தவர் இவர் தான். ‘எனக்குப் பிறகு ஒரு மனிதர் வருவார். அவர் என்னிலும் மேலானவர். ஏனென்றால் அவர் எனக்கு முன்னமே வாழ்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறவர். அவர் எப்போதும் வாழ்கிறவர்.’ 31 இவரை நானும் அறியாதிருந்தேன். ஆனாலும் நான் தண்ணீரால் ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுக்க வந்திருக்கிறேன். ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் இயேசுதான் கிறிஸ்து என அறிந்துகொள்ள முடியும்.
32-33 “கிறிஸ்து யாரென்று நானும் அறியாமல்தான் இருந்தேன். ஆனால் தேவன் என்னைத் தண்ணீரால் ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுக்குமாறு அனுப்பி வைத்தார். ‘நீ யார் மீது பரிசுத்த ஆவியானர் இறங்கி அமர்வதைக் காண்பாயோ, அவர்தான் பரிசுத்த ஆவியால் ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுக்கிறவர்’ என்று தேவன் என்னிடம் கூறினார்” என்றான். “நான் அவ்வாறு நிகழ்வதைப் பார்த்தேன். ஆவியானவர் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து இறங்கி வருவதைப் பார்த்தேன். அந்த ஆவியானவர் ஒரு புறாவைப்போல் இறங்கி இயேசுவின் மீது அமர்ந்தார். 34 நான் இதைத்தான் மக்களிடம் சொல்லி வருகிறேன். ‘இயேசுதான் தேவனின் குமாரன்’” என்று யோவான் சொன்னான்.
இயேசுவின் முதல் சீஷர்கள்
35 மறுநாள் மறுபடியும் யோவான் அங்கே இருந்தான். அவனோடு அவனைப் பின்பற்றுகிற சீஷர்களில் இரண்டு பேர் இருந்தனர். 36 இயேசு நடந்துசெல்வதை யோவான் பார்த்தான். “பாருங்கள், இவர்தான் தேவனின் ஆட்டுக்குட்டி” என்றான்.
37 அந்த இரு சீஷர்களும் யோவான் கூறுவதைக் கேட்டார்கள். ஆகையால் அவர்கள் இயேசுவைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து சென்றனர். 38 “உங்களுக்கு என்ன வேண்டும்?” என்று இயேசு திரும்பி அவர்களைப் பார்த்து கேட்டார்.
அந்த இருவரும், “போதகரே, நீங்கள் எங்கே தங்கியிருக்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டனர்.
39 “என்னோடு வாருங்கள். நீங்கள் கண்டுகொள்வீர்கள்” என்று இயேசு பதிலுரைத்தார். எனவே அவர்கள் இருவரும் அவர் பின்னால் சென்றனர். இயேசு தங்கியிருக்கும் இடத்தையும் கண்டனர். அன்று அவர்கள் அவரோடு அங்கே தங்கியிருந்தனர். அப்பொழுது நேரம் சுமார் நான்கு மணி.
40 இயேசுவைப்பற்றி யோவான் சொன்னதன் மூலமாகத் தெரிந்துகொண்டதால் அவர்கள் இயேசுவைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து சென்றனர். அந்த இருவரில் ஒருவன் பெயர் அந்திரேயா. அவன் சீமோன் பேதுருவின் சகோதரன். 41 முதல் காரியமாக அவன் தன் சகோதரன் சீமோன் பேதுருவைப் போய்ப் பார்த்தான். “நாங்கள் மேசியாவைக் (அதன் பொருள் கிறிஸ்து) கண்டுகொண்டோம்” என்று கூறினான்.
42 பிறகு அந்திரேயா சீமோனை இயேசுவிடம் அழைத்துக் கொண்டு வந்தான். இயேசு சீமோனைப் பார்த்து, “நீ யோவானுடைய குமாரனான சீமோன். நீ கேபா என்று அழைக்கப்படுவாய்” என்றார். (“கேபா” என்பதற்கு “பேதுரு” என்று அர்த்தம்.)
43 மறுநாள் இயேசு கலிலேயாவுக்குச் செல்லத் தீர்மானித்தார். இயேசு பிலிப்புவைக் கண்டு, “என்னைத் தொடர்ந்து வா” என்றார். 44 பிலிப்பு, அந்திரேயா, பேதுரு ஆகியோரின் ஊரான பெத்சாயிதாவைச் சேர்ந்தவன். 45 பிலிப்பு நாத்தான்வேலைப் பார்த்து, “மோசே எழுதியிருக்கிற சட்டங்களை எண்ணிப்பார். மோசே வரப்போகிற ஒரு மனிதரைப்பற்றி எழுதினார். தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் அவரைப்பற்றி எழுதி இருக்கிறார்கள். நாங்கள் அவரைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டோம். அவர் பெயர் இயேசு. யோசேப்பின் குமாரன். நாசரேத்திலிருந்து வருகிறார்.”
46 ஆனால் நாத்தான்வேல் பிலிப்புவிடம், “நாசரேத்தா? நாசரேத்திலிருந்து ஏதாவது நன்மை வர இயலுமா?” எனக் கேட்டான்.
“வந்து பார்” என்று பதிலுரைத்தான் பிலிப்பு.
47 நாத்தான்வேல் தன்னிடம் வந்துகொண்டிருப்பதை இயேசு பார்த்தார். “இதோ வந்துகொண்டிருக்கிற இவன் உண்மையாகவே தேவனின் மக்களில் ஒருவன். இவனிடம் எந்த தவறும் இல்லை” என்று இயேசு கூறினார்.
48 “என்னை உங்களுக்கு எப்படித் தெரியும்?” என நாத்தான்வேல் கேட்டான்.
பிலிப்பு என்னைப்பற்றி உனக்குக் கூறும் முன்பே, “நீ அத்தி மரத்தின் கீழே நிற்கும்போதே உன்னைப் பார்த்தேன்” என்று இயேசு சொன்னார்.
49 பிறகு இயேசுவிடம், “ஆண்டவரே! நீங்கள் தான் தேவகுமாரன். இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா” என்று நாத்தான்வேல் கூறினான்.
50 “நான் உன்னை அத்தி மரத்தின் அடியில் பார்த்ததாக ஏற்கெனவே கூறியிருக்கிறேன். அதனால் என்மீது நீ நம்பிக்கை வைத்தாய். ஆனால் அதைவிட மேலும் சிறந்தவைகளைக் காண்பாய்” என்று இயேசு கூறினார். 51 அவர் மேலும், “நான் மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குக் கூறுகிறேன். பரலோக வாசல் திறந்திருப்பதையும், மனிதகுமாரனிடத்திலிருந்து தேவதூதர்கள் மேலே செல்வதையும் கீழே இறங்குவதையும் நீங்கள் காண்பீர்கள்”[b] என்றார்.

John 1
Worldwide English (New Testament)
1 The Word already was, way back before anything began to be. The Word and God were together. The Word was God.
2 Before anything began to be, the Word was there with God.
3 God made everything by the Word. Nothing has been made without him.
4 Life was in the Word. That life was Light for people.
5 The Light shone where it was dark and the darkness did not stop the Light from shining.
6 God sent a man named John.
7 He came to talk about the Light, so that all people might believe in the Light by what he said.
8 He himself was not that Light, but he was sent to talk about the Light.
9 The true Light which gives light to every person who comes into the world.
10 He, the Word, was in the world. Yes, he even made the world. And yet the world did not know him.
11 He came into the world that was his own, but his own people did not receive him.
12 But there were people who did believe in his name. They did receive him. He gave all those who received him and believed him the right to become children of God.
13 They were born into God's family by God. That is, they were not born into his family in the way a person is born into this world. It was not by any person's will.
14 The Word became man and he lived among us. We saw with our own eyes that he is great. He is great the way God the Father made his only Son great. We saw that he is full of loving kindness and truth.
15 John talked about him. He called out saying, `Here is the man I told you about. I said that the one who is coming after me is greater than I am, because he lived before I lived.'
16 He was full of loving kindness, and we have all received so much kindness from him.
17 Moses gave the law, but Jesus Christ gave this loving kindness and truth.
18 No one has ever seen God. But his only Son is very near to his Father's heart. He has told us plainly about God.
19 The leaders of the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem. They asked John, `Who are you?' John told them.
20 He did not hide the truth, but he told people plainly. He said, `I am not the Christ.'
21 So they asked him, `Well then, are you Elijah?' He answered, `No, I am not.' They asked, `Are you the Prophet?' He answered, `No.'
22 Then those priests said, `Who are you? We want to give an answer to the people who sent us. What do you say about yourself?'
23 John said, `I am a voice calling in the desert, "Make the road straight for the Lord." This is what was said by Isaiah, the prophet of God long ago.'
24 It was the Pharisees who had sent these people to John.
25 So they asked him, `If you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet, why then are you baptizing?'
26 John answered, `I baptize people in water. But there is a man standing among you whom you do not know.
27 He is the one coming after me who is greater than I am. I am not even good enough to untie his shoe strings.'
28 The place where John was baptizing was Bethany on the other side of the Jordan River.
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming to him. `Look,' said John. `See God's special Lamb! He takes away the wrong ways of the world.
30 Here is the man I told you about. I said that the one who is coming after me is greater than I am, because he lived before I lived.
31 I myself did not know who he was. But I came and baptized people in water so that the people of Israel would know who he was.'
32 John also said, `I saw the Spirit coming from the sky. He came down on him like a dove. It stayed on him.
33 I myself did not know who he was. But he who sent me to baptize people in water told me. He said, "You will see the Spirit coming from the sky on a man. That man will baptize people in the Holy Spirit."
34 I saw the Spirit coming on him, and I have told you. This man is the Son of God.'
35 The next day, John was standing with two of his followers.
36 Jesus walked by. When John saw him, he said, `Look, see God's Lamb!'
37 The two followers heard what John said, so they went after Jesus.
38 Jesus turned. He saw them coming after him. He said to them, `What are you looking for?' They said, `Teacher, where do you live?'
39 Jesus said, `Come and see.' They went and saw the place where Jesus was staying. The time was about four o'clock in the afternoon. They stayed with Jesus the rest of the day.
40 Andrew was one of those two followers of John who heard John speak and went after Jesus. He was Simon Peter's brother.
41 The first thing Andrew did then was to find his brother Simon. He said, `We have found the Messiah!' (Messiah means the Christ, the messenger of God.)
42 Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, `You are Simon, the son of John. Your name will be Cephas.' (Cephas means Peter, a rock or stone.)
43 The next day Jesus said, `I will go to Galilee.' He found Philip and said to him, `Come with me.'
44 Philip was from the town of Bethsaida. Andrew and Peter were also from that town.
45 Philip went to find Nathanael. He said `We have found the man about whom Moses wrote in the books of the law. The prophets also wrote about him. He is Jesus, from Nazareth. He is the son of Joseph.'
46 Nathanael said, `From Nazareth? Can any good thing come from there?' Philip said, `Come and see for yourself.'
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him. He said, `Here is a man who is truly of Israel. He does not fool people.'
48 Nathanael asked, `How do you know me?' Jesus answered, `I saw you when you were under the fig tree. That was before Philip called you.'
49 Nathanael said, `Teacher, you are the Son of God. You are the King of Israel.'
50 Jesus answered, `I told you that I saw you under the fig tree. Is that why you believe in me now? You will see more wonderful things than that!
51 I tell you the truth,' said Jesus. `You will see heaven open. You will see God's angels going up and down to the Son of Man.'

El Verbo se hace carne
14 Y el Verbo(R) se hizo carne(S), y habitó entre nosotros(T), y vimos su gloria(U), gloria como del unigénito[o] del Padre, lleno de gracia(V) y de verdad(W). 15 Juan dio* testimonio de Él(X) y clamó, diciendo: Este era del que yo decía: «El que viene después de mí(Y), es antes de mí[p], porque era primero que yo(Z)». 16 Pues de su plenitud(AA) todos hemos recibido, y gracia sobre gracia. 17 Porque la ley fue dada por medio de Moisés(AB); la gracia(AC) y la verdad(AD) fueron hechas realidad por medio de Jesucristo. 18 Nadie ha visto jamás a Dios(AE); el unigénito Dios[q](AF), que está en el seno del Padre(AG), Él le ha dado a conocer(AH).
Testimonio de Juan el Bautista
19 Este es el testimonio(AI) de Juan, cuando los judíos(AJ) enviaron sacerdotes y levitas de Jerusalén(AK) a preguntarle: ¿Quién eres tú? 20 Y él confesó y no negó; confesó: Yo no soy el Cristo[r](AL). 21 Y le preguntaron: ¿Entonces, qué? ¿Eres Elías(AM)? Y él dijo*: No soy. ¿Eres el profeta(AN)? Y respondió: No. 22 Entonces le dijeron: ¿Quién eres?, para que podamos dar respuesta a los que nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo? 23 Él dijo: Yo soy la voz del que clama en el desierto: «Enderezad el camino del Señor(AO)», como dijo el profeta Isaías(AP). 24 Los que habían sido enviados eran de los fariseos. 25 Y le preguntaron, y le dijeron: Entonces, ¿por qué bautizas, si tú no eres el Cristo[s], ni Elías, ni el profeta(AQ)? 26 Juan les respondió, diciendo: Yo bautizo en[t] agua(AR), pero entre vosotros está Uno a quien no conocéis. 27 Él es el que viene después de mí(AS), a quien yo no soy digno de desatar la correa de su sandalia(AT). 28 Estas cosas sucedieron en Betania[u], al otro lado del Jordán, donde Juan estaba bautizando(AU).
El Cordero de Dios
29 Al día siguiente vio* a Jesús que venía hacia él, y dijo*: He ahí el Cordero de Dios(AV) que quita el pecado del mundo(AW). 30 Este es aquel de quien yo dije: «Después de mí viene un hombre(AX) que es antes de mí[v] porque era primero que yo(AY)». 31 Y yo no le conocía[w], pero para que Él fuera manifestado a Israel, por esto yo vine bautizando en[x] agua. 32 Juan dio también testimonio(AZ), diciendo: He visto al Espíritu que descendía del cielo como paloma(BA), y se posó sobre Él. 33 Y yo no le conocía[y], pero el que me envió a bautizar en[z] agua me dijo: «Aquel sobre quien veas al Espíritu descender y posarse sobre Él, este es el que bautiza en[aa] el Espíritu Santo(BB)». 34 Y yo le he visto y he dado testimonio de que este es el Hijo de Dios(BC).
Los primeros discípulos
35 Al día siguiente(BD) Juan estaba otra vez allí con[ab] dos de sus discípulos, 36 y vio a Jesús que pasaba, y dijo*: He ahí el Cordero de Dios(BE). 37 Y los dos discípulos le oyeron hablar, y siguieron a Jesús. 38 Jesús se volvió, y viendo que le seguían, les dijo*: ¿Qué buscáis? Y ellos le dijeron: Rabí(BF) (que traducido quiere decir, Maestro), ¿dónde te hospedas? 39 Él les dijo*: Venid y veréis. Entonces fueron y vieron dónde se hospedaba; y se quedaron con Él aquel día, porque era como la hora décima[ac]. 40 (BG)Uno de los dos que oyeron a Juan y siguieron a Jesús era Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro. 41 El encontró* primero a su hermano Simón, y le dijo*: Hemos hallado al Mesías(BH) (que traducido quiere decir, Cristo[ad]). 42 Entonces lo trajo a Jesús. Jesús mirándolo, dijo: Tú eres Simón, hijo de Juan[ae](BI); tú serás llamado Cefas(BJ) (que quiere decir: Pedro[af](BK)).
Felipe y Natanael
43 Al día siguiente(BL) Jesús se propuso salir para Galilea(BM), y encontró* a Felipe(BN), y le dijo*: Sígueme(BO). 44 Felipe(BP) era de Betsaida(BQ), de la ciudad de Andrés y de Pedro. 45 Felipe(BR) encontró* a Natanael(BS) y le dijo*: Hemos hallado a aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, y también los profetas(BT), a Jesús de Nazaret(BU), el hijo de José(BV). 46 Y Natanael le dijo: ¿Puede algo bueno salir de Nazaret(BW)? Felipe(BX) le dijo*: Ven, y ve. 47 Jesús vio venir a Natanael y dijo* de él: He aquí un verdadero israelita(BY) en quien no hay engaño. 48 Natanael le dijo*: ¿Cómo es que me conoces? Jesús le respondió y le dijo: Antes de que Felipe(BZ) te llamara, cuando estabas debajo de la higuera, te vi. 49 Natanael le respondió: Rabí(CA), tú eres el Hijo de Dios(CB), tú eres el Rey de Israel(CC). 50 Respondió Jesús y le dijo: ¿Porque te dije que te vi debajo de la higuera, crees? Cosas mayores que estas verás. 51 Y le dijo*: En verdad, en verdad os digo que veréis el cielo abierto(CD) y a los ángeles de Dios subiendo y bajando(CE) sobre el Hijo del Hombre(CF).

Ang Biblia (1978)
1 (A)Nang pasimula siya ang (B)Verbo, at ang Verbo ay (C)sumasa Dios, at ang Verbo (D)ay Dios.
2 Ito rin nang pasimula'y sumasa Dios.
3 Ang lahat ng mga bagay ay ginawa (E)sa pamamagitan niya; at alin man sa lahat ng ginawa ay hindi ginawa kung wala siya.
4 (F)Nasa kaniya ang buhay; at ang buhay ay siyang ilaw ng mga tao.
5 At ang ilaw ay lumiliwanag (G)sa kadiliman; at ito'y hindi napagunawa ng kadiliman.
6 Naparito ang isang tao, na (H)sugong mula sa Dios, na ang kaniyang pangalan ay Juan.

24 At sila'y sinugo buhat sa mga Fariseo.
25 At sa kaniya'y kanilang itinanong, at sinabi sa kaniya, Bakit nga bumabautismo ka, kung hindi ikaw ang Cristo, ni si Elias, ni ang propeta?
26 Sila'y sinagot ni Juan, na nagsasabi, (AB)Ako'y bumabautismo sa tubig: datapuwa't sa gitna ninyo'y may isang nakatayo na hindi ninyo nakikilala,
27 Siya nga ang pumaparitong sumusunod sa akin, na sa kaniya'y hindi ako karapatdapat magkalag ng panali ng kaniyang pangyapak.
28 Ang mga bagay na ito'y ginawa sa Betania, sa dako pa roon ng Jordan, na pinagbabautismuhan ni Juan.
29 Nang kinabukasan ay nakita ni Juan si Jesus na lumalapit sa kaniya, at sinabi, Narito, (AC)ang Cordero ng Dios, na nagaalis ng kasalanan ng sanglibutan!
30 (AD)Ito yaong aking sinasabi, Sa hulihan ko'y dumarating ang isang lalake na magiging una sa akin: sapagka't siya'y una sa akin.
31 At siya'y hindi ko nakilala; datapuwa't upang siya'y mahayag sa Israel, (AE)dahil dito'y naparito ako na bumabautismo sa tubig.
32 At nagpatotoo si Juan, na nagsasabi, (AF)Nakita ko ang Espiritu na bumababang tulad sa isang kalapati na buhat sa langit; at dumapo sa kaniya.
33 At siya'y hindi ko nakilala; datapuwa't ang nagsugo sa akin upang bumautismo sa tubig, ay siyang nagsabi sa akin, Ang makita mong babaan ng Espiritu, at manahan sa kaniya, ay (AG)siya nga ang bumabautismo sa Espiritu Santo.
34 At aking nakita, at pinatotohanan kong ito (AH)ang Anak ng Dios.
35 Nang kinabukasan ay muling nakatayo si Juan, at ang dalawa sa kaniyang mga alagad;
36 At kaniyang tiningnan si Jesus samantalang siya'y naglalakad, at sinabi, (AI)Narito, ang Cordero ng Dios!
37 At narinig siyang nagsalita ng dalawang alagad, at sila'y nagsisunod kay Jesus.
38 At lumingon si Jesus, at nakita silang nagsisisunod, at sinabi sa kanila, Ano ang inyong hinahanap? At sinabi nila sa kaniya, Rabi (na kung liliwanagin, ay Guro), saan ka tumitira?
39 Sinabi niya sa kanila, Magsiparito kayo, at inyong makikita. Nagsiparoon nga sila at nakita kung saan siya tumitira; at sila'y nagsitirang kasama niya nang araw na yaon: noo'y magiikasangpu na ang oras.
40 Ang isa sa dalawang nakarinig ng pagsasalita ni Juan, at sumunod sa kaniya, ay si (AJ)Andres na kapatid ni Simon Pedro.
41 Una niyang nasumpungan ang kaniyang sariling kapatid na si Simon, at sa kaniya'y sinabi, Nasumpungan namin ang (AK)Mesias (na kung liliwanagin, ay ang (AL)Cristo).
42 Siya'y kaniyang dinala kay Jesus. Siya'y tiningnan ni Jesus, at sinabi, (AM)Ikaw ay si Simon na anak ni Juan: tatawagin kang (AN)Cefas (na kung liliwanagin, ay (AO)Pedro).
43 Nang kinabukasan ay pinasiyahan niyang pumaroon sa Galilea, at kaniyang nasumpungan si Felipe: at sa kaniya'y sinabi ni Jesus, Sumunod ka sa akin.
44 Si (AP)Felipe nga ay taga Betsaida, sa bayan ni Andres at ni Pedro.
45 Nasumpungan ni Felipe si (AQ)Natanael, at sinabi sa kaniya, Nasumpungan namin yaong isinulat ni (AR)Moises sa kautusan, at gayon din ng mga propeta, si Jesus na (AS)taga Nazaret, (AT)ang anak ni Jose.
46 At sinabi sa kaniya ni Natanael, (AU)Mangyayari bagang lumitaw ang anomang magaling na bagay sa Nazaret? Sinabi sa kaniya ni Felipe, Pumarito ka at tingnan mo.
47 Nakita ni Jesus si Natanael na lumalapit sa kaniya, at sinabi ang tungkol sa kaniya, Narito, ang isang tunay na Israelita, na sa kaniya'y walang daya!
48 Sinabi sa kaniya ni Natanael, Saan mo ako nakilala? Si Jesus ay sumagot at sinabi sa kaniya, Bago ka tinawag ni Felipe, nang ikaw ay nasa ilalim ng puno ng igos, ay nakita kita.
49 Sumagot si Natanael sa kaniya, Rabi, (AV)ikaw ang Anak ng Dios; ikaw (AW)ang Hari ng Israel.
50 Si Jesus ay sumagot at sinabi sa kaniya, Dahil baga sa sinabi ko sa iyo, Kita'y nakita sa ilalim ng puno ng igos, kaya ka sumasampalataya? makikita mo ang mga bagay na lalong dakila kay sa rito.
51 At sinabi niya sa kaniya, Katotohanan, katotohanang sinasabi ko sa iyo, (AX)Makikita ninyong bukas ang langit, at ang mga anghel ng Dios na nagmamanhik-manaog sa ulunan (AY)ng Anak ng tao.
