Закон за наследството на дъщерите
27 (A)(B)Тогава дойдоха дъщерите на Салпаад, сина на Хефер, син на Галаад, син на Махир, син на Манасия, Йосифовия син. А ето имената на дъщерите му: Махла, Ноа, Хогла, Милка и Тирца. 2 Те застанаха пред Мойсей и пред свещеника Елеазар, пред предводителите на цялото общество при входа на скинията на събранието и казаха: 3 „Баща ни умря в пустинята и беше между съучастниците, които се събраха против Господа заедно с хората на Корей. Той умря заради своя грях и нямаше синове. 4 Защо трябва името на баща ни да изчезне сред племето му, понеже не е имал син? Дай ни дял наследство, както на братята на баща ни.“
5 И Мойсей представи молбата им пред Господа. 6 Тогава Господ каза на Мойсей: 7 (C)„Право е това, което говорят Салпаадовите дъщери. Трябва да им дадеш наследство, както на братята на баща им, като прехвърлиш на тях бащиния им дял. 8 А на израилтяните разпореди така: ‘Ако някой умре, без да има син, прехвърлете наследството му на дъщеря му. 9 Ако няма дъщеря, тогава прехвърлете неговото наследство на братята му. 10 Ако няма братя, дайте наследството му на братята на баща му. 11 Ако баща му няма братя, дайте наследството му на най-близкия сродник от племето му; нека той да го наследи. И това да бъде закон за израилтяните, както заповяда Господ на Мойсей’.“

12 (D)(E)След това Господ каза на Мойсей: „Изкачи се там, на планината Аварим, и огледай страната, която съм дал на израилтяните. 13 И като я огледаш, прибери се и ти при народа си, както се прибра твоят брат Аарон; 14 (F)защото в пустинята Цин, когато се появи разпра в обществото, вие не послушахте заповедта Ми да покажете пред тях Моята святост при водите на Мерива.“ 15 И Мойсей каза на Господа: 16 „Нека Господ Бог, Който одухотворява всяка плът, отреди над обществото човек, 17 (G)който да ги води в битка и да ги връща в стана, да стои начело при всичките им изпитания, за да не бъде Господният народ като овци без пастир.“
18 Тогава Господ каза на Мойсей: „Вземи при себе си Иисус, Навиновия син, човек, у когото е Духът, и възложи ръката си на него! 19 И като го представиш пред свещеника Елеазар и пред цялото общество, дай му наставления пред техните очи. 20 (H)Отдай на него част от славата си, за да го слуша цялото общество израилтяни! 21 (I)А за своите решения той да се отнася до свещеника Елеазар, който ще се допитва чрез Урим до Господа. И съгласно неговите думи ще тръгват в битка и ще се връщат в стана той и всички израилтяни с него, и цялото общество.“ 22 Мойсей направи, както му заповяда Господ – взе при себе си Иисус и го представи пред свещеника Елеазар и пред цялото общество. 23 (J)И като възложи ръцете си на него, даде му наставления, както Господ заповяда чрез Мойсей.

2 и застанаха пред Моисея, пред свещеник Елеазара, пред князете и пред цялото общество, при входа на скинията на събранието, и казаха:
3 (B)баща ни умря в пустинята, и той не беше между съучастниците, които се събраха против Господа заедно със сбирщината на Корея, но умря за своя грях, без да има синове;
4 защо да се изгубва името на баща ни измежду племето му поради това, че няма син? Дай ни дял между братята на баща ни.
5 И Моисей представи делото им пред Господа.
6 И Господ каза на Моисея:
7 право говорят Салпаадовите дъщери; дай им наследствен дял между братята на баща им и предай им техния бащин дял;
8 (C)а на синовете Израилеви обади и кажи: ако някой умре, без да остави син, предавайте неговия дял на дъщеря му;
9 ако пък той няма дъщеря, предавайте неговия дял на братята му;
10 ако няма братя, дайте неговия дял на стриковците му;
11 ако пък няма стриковци, дайте неговия дял на най-близкия му роднина от неговото поколение да го наследи; и нека това бъде узаконено за синовете Израилеви, както заповяда Господ на Моисея.
12 (D)Каза Господ на Моисея: възлез на тая планина Аварим, (която е отсам Иордан, на тая планина Нево,) и погледай земята (Ханаанска), която давам на синовете Израилеви (за владение);
13 и след като я погледаш, прибери се и ти при народа си, както се прибра Аарон, брат ти (на планина Ор);
14 (E)защото вие не послушахте заповедта Ми в пустиня Син, когато между обществото се появи разпра, да покажете пред очите им Моята светост при водите. (Това са водите на Мерива при Кадес, в пустиня Син.)
15 И каза Моисей на Господа, думайки:
16 (F)нека Господ, Бог на духовете и на всяка плът, отреди над това общество човек,
17 който да излиза пред тях, и който да влиза пред тях, който да ги извежда и който да ги довежда, та да не остане народът Господен като овци без пастир.
18 (G)И каза Господ на Моисея: вземи си Иисуса, Навиновия син, човек у когото има Дух, и възложи върху него ръката си,
19 представи го пред свещеник Елеазара и пред цялото общество, дай му наставления пред техните очи
20 (H)и дай му от славата си, за да му бъде послушно цялото общество синове Израилеви;
21 (I)а той да се отнася до свещеник Елеазара и да се допитва до него за решение чрез „урима“ пред Господа; и по думата му да излизат и по думата му да влизат той и всички синове Израилеви с него и цялото общество.
22 Моисей направи, както му заповяда. Господ (Бог), и взе Иисуса, та го представи пред свещеник Елеазара и пред цялото общество;

Zelophehad’s Daughters(A)
27 The daughters of Zelophehad(B) son of Hepher,(C) the son of Gilead,(D) the son of Makir,(E) the son of Manasseh, belonged to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. The names of the daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirzah. They came forward 2 and stood before Moses,(F) Eleazar the priest, the leaders(G) and the whole assembly at the entrance to the tent of meeting(H) and said, 3 “Our father died in the wilderness.(I) He was not among Korah’s followers, who banded together against the Lord,(J) but he died for his own sin and left no sons.(K) 4 Why should our father’s name disappear from his clan because he had no son? Give us property among our father’s relatives.”
5 So Moses brought their case(L) before the Lord,(M) 6 and the Lord said to him, 7 “What Zelophehad’s daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance(N) among their father’s relatives and give their father’s inheritance to them.(O)
8 “Say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, give his inheritance to his daughter. 9 If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers. 10 If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers. 11 If his father had no brothers, give his inheritance to the nearest relative in his clan, that he may possess it. This is to have the force of law(P) for the Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.’”
Joshua to Succeed Moses
12 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go up this mountain(Q) in the Abarim Range(R) and see the land(S) I have given the Israelites.(T) 13 After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people,(U) as your brother Aaron(V) was, 14 for when the community rebelled at the waters in the Desert of Zin,(W) both of you disobeyed my command to honor me as holy(X) before their eyes.” (These were the waters of Meribah(Y) Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin.)
15 Moses said to the Lord, 16 “May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things,(Z) appoint someone over this community 17 to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”(AA)
18 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership,[a](AB) and lay your hand on him.(AC) 19 Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him(AD) in their presence.(AE) 20 Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.(AF) 21 He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring(AG) of the Urim(AH) before the Lord. At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.”
22 Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole assembly. 23 Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him,(AI) as the Lord instructed through Moses.

2 And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
3 Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the Lord in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.
4 Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
5 And Moses brought their cause before the Lord.
6 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
7 The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.
8 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.
9 And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren.
10 And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father's brethren.
11 And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the Lord commanded Moses.
12 And the Lord said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
13 And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.
14 For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
15 And Moses spake unto the Lord, saying,
16 Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
17 Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd.
18 And the Lord said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;
19 And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
20 And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
21 And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the Lord: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
22 And Moses did as the Lord commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:
23 And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.
