^1-2^(A)Из сърцето ми се изля блага дума; аз говоря: моята песен е за Царя; езикът ми е перо на бързописец.

³^(B)Ти си най-прекрасният от синовете човечески; благодат се изля от Твоите уста; затова Бог Те е благословил навеки.

⁴^(C)Препаши на бедро меча Си, о Силний! Препаши се с Твоята слава и красота!

⁵И в това Твое украшение побързай, седни в колесница заради истината, красотата и правдата, и Твоята десница ще Ти покаже чудни дела.

⁶^(D)Остри са Твоите стрели (о Силний), народите ще паднат пред Тебе, – те са в сърцето на Царевите врагове.

⁷^(E)Твоят престол, Боже, е вечен; жезълът на правотата е жезъл на Твоето царство.

⁸^(F)Ти обикна правдата и намрази беззаконието, затова, Боже, Твоят Бог Те помаза с елей на радост повече от Твоите съучастници.

⁹^(G)Всички Твои дрехи благоухаят на смирна, алой и касия; из чертози от слонова кост Те веселят.

¹⁰^(H)Царски дъщери са между Твоите почетни; застана царица Теб отдясно в офирско злато.

¹¹^(I)Чуй, дъще, и виж, наклони ухо и забрави твоя народ и дома на баща си.

¹²^(J)И силно ще пожелае Царят твоята красота, защото Той е твой Господ, и ти Му се поклони.

¹³^(K)И дъщерята тирска с дарове и най-богатите от народа ще умоляват лицето Ти.

¹⁴^(L)Всичката слава на царската дъщеря е вътре: нейната дреха е със злато везана;

¹⁵^(M)в изпъстрена дреха я довеждат при Царя; след нея водят при Тебе девици, нейни дружки,

¹⁶довеждат ги с веселие и ликуване, влизат в Царевия чертог.

¹⁷^(N)Вместо Твоите бащи, ще бъдат Твоите синове; Ти ще ги туриш князе по цяла земя.

¹⁸Ще направя да се помни Твоето име от рода в род; затова народите ще Те славят от века до века.

44 Oh Dios, con nuestros oídos hemos oído,
nuestros padres nos han contado^(A)
la obra que hiciste en sus días^(B),
en los tiempos^[b] antiguos^(C).
²Tú con tu mano echaste fuera las naciones^(D),
y a ellos los plantaste^(E).
Afligiste a los pueblos^(F),
y a ellos los hiciste crecer^[c]^(G).
³Pues no por su espada tomaron posesión de la tierra^(H),
ni su brazo los salvó,
sino tu diestra y tu brazo^(I), y la luz de tu presencia^[d]^(J),
porque te complaciste en ellos^(K).

⁴Tú eres mi Rey, oh Dios^(L);
manda victorias^[e] a Jacob^(M).
⁵Contigo^[f] rechazaremos a nuestros adversarios^(N);
en^[g] tu nombre hollaremos^[h] a los que contra nosotros se levanten^(O).
⁶Porque yo no confiaré en mi arco^(P),
ni me salvará mi espada;
⁷pues tú nos has salvado de nuestros adversarios^(Q),
y has avergonzado a los que nos aborrecen^(R).
⁸En Dios nos hemos gloriado todo el día^(S),

y no sales con nuestros ejércitos^(W).
¹⁰Nos haces retroceder ante el adversario^(X),
y los que nos aborrecen tomaron botín para sí^(Y).
¹¹Nos entregas como ovejas para ser devorados^[l]^(Z),
y nos has esparcido entre las naciones^(AA).
¹²Vendes a tu pueblo a bajo precio^[m]^(AB),
y no te has beneficiado con su venta^[n].
¹³Nos haces el oprobio de nuestros vecinos^(AC),
escarnio y burla de los que nos rodean^(AD).
¹⁴Nos pones por proverbio entre las naciones^(AE),

¹⁵Todo el día mi ignominia está delante de mí,
y la vergüenza de mi rostro me ha abrumado^[p]^(AG),
¹⁶por la voz del que me reprocha y vitupera^(AH),
por la presencia del enemigo y del vengativo^(AI).

¹⁷Todo esto nos ha sobrevenido, pero no nos hemos olvidado de ti^(AJ),
ni hemos faltado a tu pacto^(AK).
¹⁸No se ha vuelto atrás nuestro corazón^(AL),
ni se han desviado nuestros pasos de tu senda^(AM);
¹⁹sin embargo, nos has quebrantado^(AN) en la región de los chacales^(AO),
y nos has cubierto con la sombra de la muerte^(AP).

²⁰Si nos hubiéramos olvidado del nombre de nuestro Dios^(AQ),
o extendido nuestras manos^[q] a un dios extraño^(AR),
²¹¿no se habría dado cuenta Dios de esto?
Pues Él conoce los secretos del corazón^(AS).
²²Pero por causa tuya nos matan cada día^(AT);
se nos considera como ovejas para el matadero^(AU).
²³¡Despierta^(AV)! ¿Por qué duermes, Señor^(AW)?
¡Levántate! No nos rechaces para siempre^(AX).
²⁴¿Por qué escondes tu rostro^(AY)
y te olvidas de nuestra aflicción y de nuestra opresión^(AZ)?
²⁵Porque nuestra alma se ha hundido en el polvo^(BA);
nuestro cuerpo está pegado a la tierra.

Psalm 44^[a]

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil.^[b]

¹We have heard it with our ears,^(A) O God;
    our ancestors have told us^(B)
what you did in their days,
    in days long ago.^(C)
²With your hand you drove out^(D) the nations
    and planted^(E) our ancestors;
you crushed^(F) the peoples
    and made our ancestors flourish.^(G)
³It was not by their sword^(H) that they won the land,
    nor did their arm bring them victory;
it was your right hand,^(I) your arm,^(J)
    and the light^(K) of your face, for you loved^(L) them.

⁴You are my King^(M) and my God,^(N)
    who decrees^[c] victories^(O) for Jacob.
⁵Through you we push back^(P) our enemies;
    through your name we trample^(Q) our foes.
⁶I put no trust in my bow,^(R)
    my sword does not bring me victory;
⁷but you give us victory^(S) over our enemies,
    you put our adversaries to shame.^(T)
⁸In God we make our boast^(U) all day long,^(V)
    and we will praise your name forever.^[d]^(W)

⁹But now you have rejected^(X) and humbled us;^(Y)

    gaining nothing from their sale.

¹³You have made us a reproach^(AF) to our neighbors,^(AG)
    the scorn^(AH) and derision^(AI) of those around us.
¹⁴You have made us a byword^(AJ) among the nations;
    the peoples shake their heads^(AK) at us.
¹⁵I live in disgrace^(AL) all day long,
    and my face is covered with shame^(AM)
¹⁶at the taunts^(AN) of those who reproach and revile^(AO) me,
    because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.^(AP)

¹⁷All this came upon us,
    though we had not forgotten^(AQ) you;
    we had not been false to your covenant.
¹⁸Our hearts had not turned^(AR) back;
    our feet had not strayed from your path.
¹⁹But you crushed^(AS) us and made us a haunt for jackals;^(AT)
    you covered us over with deep darkness.^(AU)

²⁰If we had forgotten^(AV) the name of our God
    or spread out our hands to a foreign god,^(AW)
²¹would not God have discovered it,
    since he knows the secrets of the heart?^(AX)
²²Yet for your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep^(AY) to be slaughtered.^(AZ)

²³Awake,^(BA) Lord! Why do you sleep?^(BB)
Rouse yourself!^(BC) Do not reject us forever.^(BD)
²⁴Why do you hide your face^(BE)
and forget^(BF) our misery and oppression?^(BG)

²⁵We are brought down to the dust;^(BH)
our bodies cling to the ground.
²⁶Rise up^(BI) and help us;
rescue^(BJ) us because of your unfailing love.^(BK)

44 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

²How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.

³For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

⁴Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.

⁵Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

⁶For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

⁷But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.

⁸In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

⁹But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.

¹⁰Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

¹¹Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.

¹²Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.

¹³Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

¹⁴Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.

¹⁵My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

¹⁶For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.

¹⁷All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

¹⁸Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

¹⁹Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

²⁰If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

²¹Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

²²Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

²³Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

²⁴Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

²⁵For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

²⁶Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.
