8 За първия певец на гетския инструмент. Давидов псалом. Иеова, Господи наш, Колко е превъзходно Твоето име по цялата земя; Ти си поставил славата Си над небесата.
2 Из устата на младенците и сучещите Укрепил Си сила поради противниците Си, За да накараш да млъкне врагът и отмъстителят.
3 Когато гледам Твоите небеса, делото на Твоите пръсти, Луната и звездите, които Ти си отредил,
4 <Казвам си:> Що е човек та да го помниш? Или човешки син та да го посещаваш?
5 А Ти си го направил само малко по-долен от ангелите {Или: Божеството.}, И със слава и чест си го увенчал.
6 Поставил си го господар над делата на ръцете Си; Всичко си подчинил под нозете му,
7 Всичките овце и говеда, Още и животните на полето,
8 Въздушните птици, морските риби, <И всичко> що минава през морските пътища.
9 Иеова, Господи наш, Колко е превъзходно Твоето име по цялата земя!

1-2 (A)Господи, Боже наш! колко е величествено Твоето име по цяла земя! Твоята слава се простира по-горе от небесата.
3 (B)Из устата на младенци и кърмачета Ти си стъкмил похвала, за да засрамиш Твоите врагове, та да направиш да млъкне враг и мъстител.
4 Кога гледам Твоите небеса – дело на Твоите пръсти, месечината и звездите, които си поставил, казвам си:
5 (C)що е човек, та го помниш, и син човечески, та го спохождаш?
6 Понизил си го с малко нещо спроти Ангелите: със слава и чест си го увенчал;
7 (D)поставил си го владетел над делата на Твоите ръце; всичко си покорил под нозете му:
8 овци и волове всички, а също и зверовете полски,
9 птици небесни и риби морски, всичко, що преминава морските пътища.
10 Господи, Боже наш, колко е величествено Твоето име по цяла земя!

8 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in the whole earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.
2 You have made sure that children
and infants praise you.
Their praise is a wall
that stops the talk of your enemies.
3 I think about the heavens.
I think about what your fingers have created.
I think about the moon and stars
that you have set in place.
4 What are human beings that you think about them?
What is a son of man that you take care of him?
5 You have made them a little lower than the angels.
You placed on them a crown of glory and honor.
6 You made human beings rule over everything your hands created.
You put everything under their control.
7 They rule over all flocks and herds
and over the wild animals.
8 They rule over the birds in the sky
and over the fish in the ocean.
They rule over everything that swims in the oceans.
9 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in the whole earth!

1 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name(A) in all the earth!
You have set your glory(B)
in the heavens.(C)
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold(D) against your enemies,
to silence the foe(E) and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,(F)
the work of your fingers,(G)
the moon and the stars,(H)
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c](I)
5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e](J)
and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.(K)
6 You made them rulers(L) over the works of your hands;(M)
you put everything under their[g] feet:(N)
7 all flocks and herds,(O)
and the animals of the wild,(P)
8 the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,(Q)
all that swim the paths of the seas.
9 Lord, our Lord,
