7 (A)Докато лекувах Израиля, откри се неправдата на Ефрема и злодейството на Самария; защото те лъжат; и крадец се вмъква, и разбойник граби по улици.
2 (B)Не помислят те в сърце си, че Аз помня всичките им злодейства; сега ги обикалят делата им; те са пред лицето Ми.
3 Със злодейството си веселят царя и с лъжите си – князете.
4 Те всички горят от прелюбодейство, като пещ, опалена от хлебаря, който престава да я подклажда, щом замеси тестото, и то възкисне.
5 (C)„Денят е на нашия цар!“ казват князете, разпалени до болест от вино, а той протяга ръка към кощунците.
6 Защото с коварството си те правят сърцето си подобно на пещ; хлебарят им спи цяла нощ, а заран тя гори като пламтящ огън.
7 (D)Те всички са разпалени като пещ и поглъщат съдиите си; всичките им царе падат, и никой от тях не вика към Мене.
8 (E)Ефрем се смеси с народите, Ефрем стана като пита необърната.
9 (F)Чуждите поглъщаха силата му – и той не забеляза; седина го покри, а той не знае.
10 (G)И гордостта на Израиля е унизена в очите им – и при все това те се не обърнаха към Господа, своя Бог, и Го не потърсиха.
11 (H)И Ефрем стана като глупав гълъб – без сърце: призовават египтяни, отиват в Асирия.
12 (I)Кога отидат, Аз ще хвърля върху тях мрежата Си; като птици небесни ще ги сваля; ще ги накажа, както бе казано в тяхното събрание.
13 (J)Горко им, задето отстъпиха от Мене; гибел тям, задето се отметнаха от Мене! Аз ги спасявах, а те говореха лъжа против Мене.
14 (K)И не викаха към Мене от сърце, когато пискаха по леглата си; събират се зарад хляб и вино, а от Мене отстъпват.
15 (L)Аз ги вразумявах и укрепях мишците им, а те замисляха зло против Мене.
16 Те се обръщаха, но не към Всевишния, станаха като неверен лък; ще паднат от меч князете им зарад дързостта на езика си; това ще бъде гавра над тях в земята Египетска.

7 Когато щях да лекувам Израиля, Тогава се откри беззаконието на Ефрема И нечестието на Самария; Защото вършат измама, Като и крадецът влиза вътре, И разбойническата чета обира вън,
2 Те не размишляват в сърцето си, Че Аз помня всичкото им беззаконие; А сега ги обиколиха собствените им дела, Които са и пред лицето Ми.
3 С нечестието си зарадват царя, И с лъжите си първенците.
4 Те всички са прелюбодейци, - Като пещ отоплена от хлебар, Който, като замеси тестото, престава да увеличава <огъня> докле се кисне то.
5 На <рождения> ден на нашия цар Първенците се разболяха чрез разпалване от виното; И той простря ръката си с присмивателите.
6 Защото, като причакват, Те са направили сърцата си като пещ; Гневът им спи цяла нощ, А на заранта гори като пламнал огън.
7 Те всички се нагорещиха като пещ, И пояждат съдиите си; Всичките им царе са паднали; Няма между тях кой да Ме призовава.
8 Ефрем, той се смеси с племената; Ефрем е като необърната пита.
9 Чужденци поядоха силата му, и той не знае; Дори бели косми му поникнаха тук-там, а той не знае.
10 И гордостта на Израиля свидетелствува пред лицето му; Но пак, въпреки всичко това, не се връщат при Господа своя Бог, Нито Го търсят.
11 И Ефрем е като глупав гълъб, който няма разум; Викат към Египет <за помощ>, отиват в Асирия.
12 Когато отидат, ще разпростра мрежата Си върху тях; Ще ги сваля като въздушните птици; Ще ги накажа както се е провъзгласило в събранието им.
13 Горко им! защото са се скитали далеч от Мене; Гибел тям; защото са престъпили против Мене; Когато щях да ги изкупя, <и тогава> те говориха лъжи против Мене.
14 И не Ме призоваха от сърце, Но лелекат на леглата си; Събират се <да се молят> за жито и вино, Но пак въстават против Мене.
15 При все че обучавах и уякчавах мишците им, Пак те намислят зло против Мене.
16 Връщат се, но не при Всевишния; Приличат на неверен лък; Първенците им ще паднат от нож Поради яростта на езика си; Това ще им <причини> позор в Египетската земя.

7 1 whenever I would heal Israel,
the sins of Ephraim are exposed
and the crimes of Samaria revealed.(A)
They practice deceit,(B)
thieves break into houses,(C)
bandits rob in the streets;(D)
2 but they do not realize
that I remember(E) all their evil deeds.(F)
Their sins engulf them;(G)
they are always before me.
3 “They delight the king with their wickedness,
the princes with their lies.(H)
4 They are all adulterers,(I)
burning like an oven
whose fire the baker need not stir
from the kneading of the dough till it rises.
5 On the day of the festival of our king
the princes become inflamed with wine,(J)
and he joins hands with the mockers.(K)
6 Their hearts are like an oven;(L)
they approach him with intrigue.
Their passion smolders all night;
in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.
7 All of them are hot as an oven;
they devour their rulers.
All their kings fall,(M)
and none of them calls(N) on me.
8 “Ephraim mixes(O) with the nations;
Ephraim is a flat loaf not turned over.
9 Foreigners sap his strength,(P)
but he does not realize it.
His hair is sprinkled with gray,
but he does not notice.
10 Israel’s arrogance testifies against him,(Q)
but despite all this
he does not return(R) to the Lord his God
or search(S) for him.
11 “Ephraim is like a dove,(T)
easily deceived and senseless—
now calling to Egypt,(U)
now turning to Assyria.(V)
12 When they go, I will throw my net(W) over them;
I will pull them down like the birds in the sky.
When I hear them flocking together,
I will catch them.
13 Woe(X) to them,
because they have strayed(Y) from me!
Destruction to them,
because they have rebelled against me!
I long to redeem them
but they speak about me(Z) falsely.(AA)
14 They do not cry out to me from their hearts(AB)
but wail on their beds.
They slash themselves,[a] appealing to their gods
for grain and new wine,(AC)
but they turn away from me.(AD)
15 I trained(AE) them and strengthened their arms,
but they plot evil(AF) against me.
16 They do not turn to the Most High;(AG)
they are like a faulty bow.(AH)
Their leaders will fall by the sword
because of their insolent(AI) words.
For this they will be ridiculed(AJ)
in the land of Egypt.(AK)

7 1 when I would heal Israel,
the corruption of E′phraim is revealed,
and the wicked deeds of Samar′ia;
for they deal falsely,
the thief breaks in,
and the bandits raid without.
2 But they do not consider
that I remember all their evil works.
Now their deeds encompass them,
they are before my face.
3 By their wickedness they make the king glad,
and the princes by their treachery.
4 They are all adulterers;
they are like a heated oven,
whose baker ceases to stir the fire,
from the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.
5 On the day of our king the princes
became sick with the heat of wine;
he stretched out his hand with mockers.
6 For like an oven their hearts burn[a] with intrigue;
all night their anger smolders;
in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.
7 All of them are hot as an oven,
and they devour their rulers.
All their kings have fallen;
and none of them calls upon me.
8 E′phraim mixes himself with the peoples;
E′phraim is a cake not turned.
9 Aliens devour his strength,
and he knows it not;
gray hairs are sprinkled upon him,
and he knows it not.
10 The pride of Israel witnesses against him;
yet they do not return to the Lord their God,
nor seek him, for all this.
Futile Reliance on the Nations
11 E′phraim is like a dove,
silly and without sense,
calling to Egypt, going to Assyria.
12 As they go, I will spread over them my net;
I will bring them down like birds of the air;
I will chastise them for their wicked deeds.[b]
13 Woe to them, for they have strayed from me!
Destruction to them, for they have rebelled against me!
I would redeem them,
but they speak lies against me.
14 They do not cry to me from the heart,
but they wail upon their beds;
for grain and wine they gash themselves,
they rebel against me.
15 Although I trained and strengthened their arms,
yet they devise evil against me.
16 They turn to Ba′al;[c]
they are like a treacherous bow,
their princes shall fall by the sword
because of the insolence of their tongue.
This shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
