3 (A)И казах аз: слушайте, главатари Иаковови и князе на дома Израилев: нали вие трябва да знаете правдата?
2 (B)А вие мразите доброто и обичате злото; дерете от тях кожата им, и плътта – от костите им;
3 ядете плътта на Моя народ и дерете от тях кожата им, а костите им чупите и трошите като в гърне, и плътта – като в котел.
4 (C)И те ще викат към Господа, но Той не ще ги чуе и ще скрие лицето Си от тях през времето, докле злодействуват.
5 (D)Тъй казва Господ против пророците, които въвеждат в заблуда Моя народ, които гризат със зъби – и проповядват мир; а който им не тури нищо в уста, против него война обявяват.
6 (E)Затова, вместо видение, за вас ще бъде нощ, вместо предсказване – тъмнина; ще залезе слънце над пророците, и денят ще потъмнее над тях.
7 (F)Ще се засрамят ясновидци, ще бъдат посрамени гадатели, и те всички ще затворят уста, защото не ще има отговор от Бога.
8 (G)Но аз съм изпълнен със силата на Духа Господен, с правда и твърдост, за да изкажа на Иакова престъпленията му, и на Израиля – греха му.
9 (H)Слушайте прочее, главатари на дома Иаковов и князе на дома Израилев, вие, които се гнусите от правосъдие и които изкривявате всичко право,
10 (I)които градите Сион с кръв, и Иерусалим – с неправда!
11 (J)Главатарите му съдят за подаръци, свещениците му учат за плата, пророците му предсказват за пари, а пък се осланят на Господа думайки: „нали Господ е помежду ни? Беда не ще ни постигне!“
12 (K)Затова, поради вас Сион ще бъде разоран като нива, и Иерусалим ще стане купище развалини, и планината на тоя Дом ще бъде гориста могила.

3 And I said, Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: is it not for you to know justice? 2 ye who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; 3 who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. 4 Then shall they cry unto Jehovah, but he will not answer them; yea, he will hide his face from them at that time, according as they have wrought evil in their doings.
5 Thus saith Jehovah concerning the prophets that make my people to err; that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and whoso putteth not into their mouths, they even [a]prepare war against him: 6 Therefore it shall be night unto you, that ye shall have no vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be black over them. 7 And the seers shall be put to shame, and the diviners confounded; yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. 8 But as for me, I am full of power [b]by the Spirit of Jehovah, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, that abhor justice, and pervert all equity. 10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. 11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us. 12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

Leaders and Prophets Rebuked
3 Then I said,
“Listen, you leaders(A) of Jacob,
you rulers of Israel.
Should you not embrace justice,
2 you who hate good and love evil;
who tear the skin from my people
and the flesh from their bones;(B)
3 who eat my people’s flesh,(C)
strip off their skin
and break their bones in pieces;(D)
who chop(E) them up like meat for the pan,
like flesh for the pot?(F)”
4 Then they will cry out to the Lord,
but he will not answer them.(G)
At that time he will hide his face(H) from them
because of the evil they have done.(I)
5 This is what the Lord says:
“As for the prophets
who lead my people astray,(J)
they proclaim ‘peace’(K)
if they have something to eat,
but prepare to wage war against anyone
who refuses to feed them.
6 Therefore night will come over you, without visions,
and darkness, without divination.(L)
The sun will set for the prophets,(M)
and the day will go dark for them.(N)
7 The seers will be ashamed(O)
and the diviners disgraced.(P)
They will all cover(Q) their faces(R)
because there is no answer from God.(S)”
8 But as for me, I am filled with power,
with the Spirit of the Lord,
and with justice and might,
to declare to Jacob his transgression,
to Israel his sin.(T)
9 Hear this, you leaders of Jacob,
you rulers of Israel,
who despise justice
and distort all that is right;(U)
10 who build(V) Zion with bloodshed,(W)
and Jerusalem with wickedness.(X)
11 Her leaders judge for a bribe,(Y)
her priests teach for a price,(Z)
and her prophets tell fortunes for money.(AA)
Yet they look(AB) for the Lord’s support and say,
“Is not the Lord among us?
No disaster will come upon us.”(AC)
12 Therefore because of you,
Zion will be plowed like a field,
Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble,(AD)
the temple(AE) hill a mound overgrown with thickets.(AF)

Wicked Rulers and Prophets
3 And I said:
“Hear now, O heads of Jacob,
And you (A)rulers of the house of Israel:
(B)Is it not for you to know justice?
2 You who hate good and love evil;
Who strip the skin from [a]My people,
And the flesh from their bones;
3 Who also (C)eat the flesh of My people,
Flay their skin from them,
Break their bones,
And chop them in pieces
Like meat for the pot,
(D)Like flesh in the caldron.”
4 Then (E)they will cry to the Lord,
But He will not hear them;
He will even hide His face from them at that time,
Because they have been evil in their deeds.
5 Thus says the Lord (F)concerning the prophets
